I'm going back to Dushanbe next month for the first time in more than a year. The last time I was there the only place for any action was the Casino disco/bar and even that was pretty hit or miss. Does anyone know if any new spots have opened up? If so, please share the information as winter in that city without company can get pretty lonely.
Just returned from a few weeks in Dushanbe. There are new discos all over the place, but the best one is still at what used to be the Casino. Though the casino has been closed, the nighclub is jammed seven days a week with pros and semi-pros, both Russian and Tajiks.

You are certainly a long way away from Mindanao.I was surfing through the central Asian Republics then spotted you here.I may be going to central Asia for a Tourism conference next year,so I was surfing through Regards
I have a travel report about my experience in Dushanbe. It is from this summer of 2005. I don’t think it would help those on a business trip stopover or those who may have a job and live there. I can’t imagine what kind of job because there is no money in the country.
In brief, do not go there as an independent traveler. Scam, cheating, and bribery are the way of life in Tajikistan. In a country where teaches’ income is 50 Somoni per month (1 Euro = 3.8 Somoni), hotels charge 75 Somoni for a room without water. Very much, like what you may expect in Eastern Europe or old Soviet Union. There was nothing to eat, nothing to fu*k.
Everyday, it was matter of survivor. Constant harassment from the local sheriff, local office of citizens, office of this and office of that. All sniffing around for a hand out or bribe. All were disappointed that I had all my papers and documents in order, …. at the cost of not having any fun and enjoyment. Taxies could be cheap if you lived there.
The report is for (very) serious inquiries only, okay. Please, not for curiosity or amusement.
I was there last year and did nto even bothered to post until now.
Summary if you can go to any other place... do not come here. Not worth. Go to Kaz or Uzb.
It is not that bad! Casino was closed for some time because owner had a tax problem, but opened up for business. Was there yesterday at midnight: only 3 very very professional ladies at the bar (drunk) so walked back home. The place to go nowadays is Port Said on Rudaki Road. Many drunk French and less drunk American soldiers, but. Where there is cattle there are flies so even at an earlier hour plenty girls there. Yes, police is problematic: choose your own taxi, DON'T get into the taxi the girl wants to push you in, don't tell her where you live, don't let her make phone calls, don't. : you still want? Some street walkers, but. Most probably they would not get business in Port Said.
Tried Port Said on a Sunday evening but it was closed. Then the driver told me to visit a place called Dior on the street that starts (or ends) at Rudaki at the Presidential palace. Everybody knows it. But the reception was far from welcoming. Three young guys aggressively asked what I wanted and did not let me in because I was on my own. So headed back to the hotel. The streets are deserted after 10 pm, a bit surreal. On a Friday evening I went to a relatively new place called Irish Pub. I’m terrible with street names but from Somoni statue towards the Zum it is the street to the right just before that pinkish government building (hakumat) opposite of the park About 300 meters on your left side. Extremely popular with expats and immediately spotted some local girls in the corner. Within 10 minutes chatted along with one of them (spoke even a bit of English) and ended up with her in my hotel room. Great sex all night long. Paid 150 USD for her to leave in the morning. So guys in Dushanbe this might be an interesting place.
Any other places in Dushanbe or contacts are welcome.
Good hunting,
Talip

In last 5 years only 5 reports for Tajikistan, that is not good.
Has anybody been there lately with some good experiences? Will be there in a few months and like to be prepared.
There must be news about activity at the Hyatt. Is it girl friendly? Any action in the bar? Headed that way myself soon and hoping the empty space of Tajikistan can be filled!
I just arrived in Dushanbe this morning and looking for something interesting to do. Any one have any advice? I am here until Tuesday morning and I will provide my update after I leave. C
Cheers
Hi guys,
I plan to stay for 2 to 3 nights in Khorog and Murghab in mid October. Could you please let me know where good places are to hook up with young Tajik or western girls, or where to pay for western, Russian or Tajik girls and how much is a good price?
Thank you.
I will report my experiences on this forum.
I go there next week in that dates, do You have any ideas? Hyatt is actual? Help me please
I go there next week in that dates, do You have any ideas? Hyatt is actual? Help me please
Is not as bad as I expected. High quality is at VIP club, but You have to be 21. 30-23. 30. Later free girls are going to Port Said. Be careful because there is a lot of normal people so don't make mistake. Take Your own taxi, but You can also find another.
Port Said is lower level but plenty of free girls for about 100$. Good variety, so You will be not bored at Dushanbe.
2011! New reports please
