I'll be sure to let you all know, but I don't arrive until tommorow evening. There are a few guys there right now but they are probably finding that the internet accessibility is not as abundant as in places like Buenos Aires.

Sorry for the lack of reports out of Cali but I was having too good a time to sit down and type. Had a lot of fun hanging out with all the guys from the forum over the last 4 days. Armani, B player, and Leo were a great group of guys to test the non pro Chippechappe mall action with, and I also enjoyed downing some brews at the Casa de Cerveza with Aussie Greg and Antifreeze. I will come right out and confess that this was not really a mongering trip from my perspective as I did spend most of my time with my cute little Calena that I met on my last trip. All of the guys said they were going to rat me out as being a true romantic, rather than a monger, so I figure I better confess from the start. I only went to the clubs and houses on my first night there and it was almost closing time so I really can't even update my last perspectives on the pay for play scene. On that night I did pick up a young cutie outside El Faragon but when we got back to the Intercontinental I had a problem with security since she did not have ID. Since it was late and I was tired I just put her back in the cab with Carlos to take home. I had no problems a month ago but my new advice is to stay away from the Inter. if you want to bring all your girls back to the hotel. It is a nice hotel but you will get killed with extra charges for bringing in Chicas. I paid nothing for my regular girl but she did have to register. I think I only escaped the extra charges because I had a friend at the front desk.
To tell you the truth, I'm not so sure that on my next trip to Cali I will partake of the P4P scene. I don't think it is even necessary. From talking to the other guys I think the consensus was that hanging out at the local spots was more fun and equally rewarding. Chippechappe and Unicenter mall were full of hot Calenas. There are beer stands that attract a lot of local girls. This trip cemented the impression in my mind that these Calenas are some of the most sexy women on earth. Feminine to the max and curves galore. The guys who did partake of the P4P scene seemed a bit underwhelmed with the casa scene but everyone was raving about just hanging out at the beer stands in the mall. Other hot spots on this trip for me were the Peluqueria ( beauty salon) up the street from the hotel along with the spa across the street. At the salon I went for a haircut and the manicurist tried to set my buddy and I up with all the girls in the place. Some were very hot. Also had a great massage from a very cute girl at the spa and then a 2nd cutie turned me into a human fruit salad with a full body treatment of all kinds of tropical fruits, honey and oatmeal. This was a completely legit place but all the girls seemed very happy to meet some gringos and were smiling out the window as we pulled away. Definetly would have asked the tall one out if I didn't already have plans. This brings me to my new perspective on Cali and that is, If you are looking for the so called girlfriend experience, not only from a club girl, but an actual girlfriend, Cali is the place. The way girls make eye contact and are so receptive to being approached is incredible. Believe me, I have never experienced anything like the women in Cali. The other guys, or shall I say the non romantics, were writing down phone numbers as fast as they could. You may have to wine and dine the girls a bit but they are great fun to be with. Another word of advice however is to learn some Spanish. It will make things easier. I am getting better but still have a long way to go.
To sum it all up, I can't wait for my next trip back to Colombia. It may not be Cali again next time, but it will definetly be Colombia. Now I also don't want to give out the impression that Cali is not without its dangers but if you play it safe they can be avoided. I have not yet had a problem but you don't want to let your guard down. The soldiers and heavy police presence are there for a reason, but from my perspective, the vast majority of Colombians are some of the most affable and engaging people I have met. If the visual presence of police with machine guns or being frisked intimidates you, Cali might not be your cup of tea. But it is cheap and the food is good. As an example, after arriving my buddy and I just wanted to relax for a while with some beers and dinner. We had Carlos take us to one of the plentiful local spots and we invited him to join us. We downed about 16 bottles of beer, had three platters of steak and parrilada and I bought 3 of the local street kids a hamburger each and the bill came to 63,000 pesos. About 21-23 dollars. And the food was good. I gave the girl 80,000 pesos and she came running out after our taxi because she wasn't even expecting the rest to be a tip. All in all I enjoyed Cali even more this time.
Oh yeah Studplayer you asked about the climate. Great. It can get warm during the day but not too bad. The nights are beautiful, although if the winds kick up down from the mountains you may need a sweater. Take care all. Would like to see some reports from the other guys in town.
I don't know why I didn't even bring a paper back for myself. All the time I was down there my friend and I talked about a return trip and renting a place instead of dealing with a hotel. My driver told me for what I pay for one night at the hotel I could rent a nice place for a week. One of the guys down there had the use of a $100,000 4 story townhome on the mountainside that was spectacular. If the purchase price was that much I can only imagine that the rentals for some pretty nice places would be cheap. I am kicking myself now for not investigating the rental scene. I will probably call my driver and see if he can get me some info. which I will gladly pass along. Doubt if they have any english language papers down there but Antifreeze would know best. Thinking already about a labor day weekend return for some fun.
This link brings you to classifieds that are houses for sale, and followed with rentals. Most rentals are made for Colombians only (a lot of paperwork to push, trust me I've been there), but you may be able to find a jewel in there.

Stay away from the center (Zona Centro).
Zona Norte is probably the most secure (La Flora in specific).
Zona Sur has a bit of everything.
I don't know much about Zona Oeste and Zona Oriente.
Is W. looking for trouble in Colombia now?
In today's newspaper in Cali, the American embassy had an annoucement requesting all Americans to register with the Embassy. That could be a preemptive step for W. to go and get trouble in other parts of the world (Colombia).
Does the US embassy often puts such ad? Or is this something that could be considered exceptional?
I went to register on the web site as stated in the ad (http://usembassy.state.gov/colombia) and their online registry mechanism does not work. Once the form is filled, you press send and it reports some unfixable error. Uncle Sam's money at work!!! First, pay for the ad. Second, have an unprofessional programer put a little something together during his luch break. Finaly, [CodeWord140] everyone off by doing this...
You could be right Antifreeze. I don't know if it was you that told me or someone in my office just yesterday, that the USA govt. contracted out to private companies the job of drug surveillance over Colombia, and that one or two got shot down this weekend with 8 americans missing. Keep the Calenas safe brother.
Buenos Amigos, (shit my Spanish is good now !!! )
Special hi to Antifreeze, I guess we won't be brother inlaws mate, but what a team!
Hi to Slick1 and Jamacian friend ( can't remember your name mate but hi) Good talking about the cricket!
O.K., news
If any you guys are looking for a friendly Colombiam family to live with eather short term or long term (a deal can be made for long term stay) during your visit to Cali, Ive got the place for you.
I've been here for the last month and they treat me as family.
They charge $40.00 per day which includes;
1. Bed and two meals a day, breakfast with eather lunch or dinner.
2. Pick up and return to the Airport by your very own personal body guard, also if you require your body guard service for shopping, ***** house tours ect, available 24 hours a day if required.
3. Personal recomendation by me and I think another well know person who writes on this web site who has been to parties at this house with his wife, mother inlaw during my stay here.
4. House is in the south but in a nice area.
5. Very close to some of the best ***** house out side of Centro Cali which dont see any Gringo,s, other than Antifreeze !!!!!!
6. If you only speak English like me then thats no problem with this family.
7. You only pay Colombian prices which the locals pay when you are with your body guard. Like 37 pesos for an hour with the most beautifull girl of your dreams! Very young to!
8. Very close to Cosmos Shopping Centre and also Uni Shopping Centre (Uni Shopping Centre has the best girls shopping, better than Chippychoppy)
9. You pay all costs other than the above ie, taxi, food cervesas (beers) ect.
Anyway thats the goss, will keep my storys to later on when have time.
If you require this service then e-mail me, I can put you in touch with the family.

All the best muchachos and adios.
Aussie Greg.
Slick and Antifreeze... you two are a wealth of information...
Slick I read your post in the Bs. As. section. Very interesting.
Would elaborate on when and where you are getting frisked and by whom in Cali.
Also, what are these other precautions are you taking?
I mean, how dangerous can it be there?
Guys,
I am going to Brazil, Arg and Peru, would like to hit Columbia, but no air pass includes this combo.
Would you try to hit Columbia too (paying for ticket in a S. Ameriecan currency) if you had time, or would you make a separate trip from the United States at a different time to see Columbia and Venezuela?
Gracias

The precautions I take are fairly simple and include such common sense things such as not wearing any type of flashy jewlery. I don't even bring my watch. And I think it is important to have a driver that you trust, especially if you are going to use him to take you to the bank to make ATM withdrawals. I have a driver down there that I take care of well and he is a good guy to hang with. If you know no one down there take your driver in for a beer, I feel there is more safety in numbers and its better than drinking alone. The last thing would be that if you are going to meet the chicas just try to make sure that she is not with a guy. In terms of travelling and sightseeing I have gotten a lot of conflicting info from the locals themselves, so I don't know what to believe. I did go up into the mountain next to Cali to the statue of Christorey where the view of Cali and the Andes was spectacular , but you certainly don't want to go at night. I certainly don't want to sound like an alarmist because I never felt threatened in Cali, but the statistics are somewhat staggering and I don't want to be the next one. It is great fun and I can't wait to return. My chica wants me to go with her to Periera so she can show me around her home. That is supposed to be a beautiful city in the mountains. Heard some very good things about Medellin as well. Some say it is safer than Cali, others no.
As far as being a wealth of info that is where you should pick Antifreezes' mind. He lives there and knows it all and is a good guy. Me, I have just started to scratch the surface of Colombia and can only provide the newbies impressions. Later.

From what I heard travel from Colombia to other parts of SA can be very expensive. I believe Antifreeze told me that to get to Brazil from Col. it is cheaper to fly to Miami and then down to Brazil. From my view of the Cali airport I did not see any of the other SA carriers such as Varig, but Bogota may be different.
You are right Slick. It is not the law of physics that drive the prices for air fares (how close you are), but the laws of economics (offer and demand). For trips like Colombia-Brazil, not much offer and even less demand so prices are way up there even though it is a country adjacent to Colombia. It is about half the price to go through Miami.
This is an insult to intelligence, but there is not much we can do about it. Good luck XThrax. If you find that I am wrong on that subject, please post your information since I do want to travel to other South-America countries also and am restricted by prices.
Panama City is a major hub for TACA so you may want to check the airfares from there.
I did a quick search on travelocity and for around US$600, you can fly Lloyd Aero Boliviana from Panama City and connect through Santa Cruz, Bolivia on your way to Rio. From reading this board, Santa Cruz seems to be a town worth checking out.
leo and b.player are having much fun... expect a nice report with tons of detail upon my return next week, as i have no time for internet and reporting when there are so many beautiful caleņas that donīt have "no" in their vocabulary.
