Kyiv in Jan and May 2005-Eurovision
In January I stayed right down town in Kyiv across from O'brians for $70 usd per night and during the inaugeration when to DT was closed to traffic I moved out to vul Lesy Ukrainky near the Central Election Commission for $40 a night .
I plan to go back in May. I wonder who much prices will jump during Eurovision
Real Estate again!!?! What about girls....
rm, if the best you could do is a soviet era studio for 110k some where in kiev center then indeed it would seem that you did waste six trips to kiev. how did you know i was in my bedroom, have you been peeking rm?
i'm sorry if your opinion of ukrainians who researched that article for the kiev post is so low you don't think they can tabulate and average a real estate spread sheet. or tell me, does having too much information bother you? of course i'm looking for uber prime real estate so those numbers will be higher for me. but as for a general baseline and for the areas you are looking in i have no reason to doubt the validity of those numbers, do you? also, how did you happen to miss those banners hanging up in bessarabska sq touting 5000grv /sqm? of course the prices are going to keep going up until the speculation busts. but certainly not at the obscene or ridiculous rates you would have us think. at your inflation just hold off until the end of this year. by then the real estate values will be on par with paris, london and nyc.
if you want to spend 110k for a soviet era studio in kiev more power to you. several expat friends that i made in kiev and several girls (no doubt desperately suicidal over my absence) suggested that i move to kiev and make my living there. i replied that i really didn’t see anything that would sustain my economic interest or make it worthwhile over what i currently do in the us. but now i see selling real estate to foreigners might just be my ticket to kiev nirvana and riches beyond my wildest dreams.
also, just so that you can keep your data straight on me, i’m looking for something slightly smaller then 60 sqm in kiev. i like to keep my vacation properties small and numerous.
but honestly rm, i wish you the best of luck with your real estate ventures in kiev, just don’t take any wooden nickels and try not to buy the same place that five other people did that same day too.
i take my hat off to you sir. you clearly are the man with the knowledge. i shouldnt have even bothered going to kiev 6 times in the last year. a simple cut and paste from korrespondent.net would have made me lord of kievan real estate wisdom without even leaving the safety of my bedroom.
if only i had done that i would have been able to get my western quality 2 room (approx 60 sq metre) apartment on kreshchatik for $90k ... just like cruiser did. i mean you did get it, right cruiser?
oh well.. at least i won a beer. and can i have one for my friend here too:
