Del Ray has purchased South Beach Hotel in Jaco
I was in Jaco yesterday and had a little time to kill before I picked up some clients to head on a tour. I stopped by my favorite breakfast restaurant to eat breakfast and to get any info I could on a rumor I heard. Turns out it's not a rumor but fact. It looks like Del Rey's Big John is not sitting back in his rocking chair. It appears he has bought a 2nd property in Jaco, the South Beach Hotel I was just by there and took a look around the 34 room facility. Prices of the rooms are ranging between $79 for a standard double to $249 for the Ocean front suite. Price includes taxes and a killer breakfast. They have a huge pool area with a small waterfall. Also, they are doing a lot of renovations to the property and it appears Big John is pulling out all the stops to compete with the Cocal. I was escourted around the property and allowed to take photo's. Stay tuned for more info.

Good thorough report especially for newer guys

Everything you need to know about Jaco. Very thorough.
But regarding what you call the "busy season" which they call the "Green Season", September to December, worst Oct & Nov, it's not "busy" because it rains, alot, all over CR, so tourism is way down.
Those are the months you really don't want to go to Jaco or any beach town in CR. Your wing told me 6 months ago? You were going to Jaco for Labor Day, and I told him to forget Jaco those months. You may get lucky with a nice few hours or a day here and there but not many other options when it's raining in Jaco, and the # of chica's are down. OK for SJ because there alot of other things to do and places to play and the girls are as good (same girls more often then not) , numerous rain or shine, cheaper, and very very few ask for $$ up front.
Everyone has a theory on why Jaco chicks stick to their guns and at much higher prices. One theory is the high roller fisherman from Los Suenos resort coming in during high season and don't care about another $50-75, or like you say newb's only going to hit it once or twice so they don't care. Or the girls, since they are fewer in number, are sticking together like a union, Jaco Puta Local 1. Who knows, but I agree it makes little sense, especially in the rainy season for them to turn down a $100 and stick at $150 and go home broke.
In any event, paying up front is a no-no and should be clarified during the negotiations stage at the bar and not after you get her to you're room.
Unfortunately, other then Jaco, the rest of the CR beach towns are bring your own for the most part.
A much nicer beach then Jaco Beach is just 10 minutes away to the south by taxi, Playa Hermosa, a few bars but not really any action, but something to do on a nice day and then play at Jaco at night.
