I will be in Bogota from May 23-25, and next 4 days in Medellin. Anyone there at that time. If you are there at that time how can we get together. Email me at [blue][Email address deleted by Admin][/blue]

Hi Everyone,
Lately I'm getting sick and tired of immigration officers at JFK and Newark. They harass lots of tourists from Colombia. I'm clean and always dress nicely. But it's getting nasty these days. I wonder if other immigrations like Miami would be any different. Does anyone know about this?

Maybe you are too clean or dress too nicely. LOL
I will be in Bogota 9-13 of May, then Cartagena for about a week, then who knows. First time in Colombia but years of experience in south america and eastern europe.
A Wingman, epsecially in Bogota, would be a great asset. PM if you are around during the same dates.

Kick123,
Miami is no better. I took a lot of crap myself for coming from Colombia. The guy who questioned me and looked through my suitcases asked me all sorts of ridiculous questions like who did you go there with? What are their names? What are their ages? Who did you see there? I have nothing to hide and hate that kind of treatment by authority figures anyway so I told the guy to f**k off. He then left with my passport for a good 20 minutes, don't know what he did with it. My cellphone rang in the meantime and the supervisor said no cellphones allowed in here. I told him to f**k off too. My interagator eventually came back and gave me my passport and I left. The whole process took a good 45 minutes at least. The only thing I regret is not spitting in the guy's face. Serious assholes they were.

Miami and Atlanta seem a bit better, but maybe somewhere less traveled like Houston would be better still?
The best plan of all of course is to avoid flying through the US with its antiquated systems wherever possible.

I'm thinking if anyone is an asshole it would be you, no?
I have been through MIA a million times, my passport has so many stamps from Colombian immigration I have had to have extra pages added to it and the only thing the USA Guys say to me is "welcome home".
I really wished you had spit in their face because then they would've had a reason to beat your ass to a pulp.

Returning from Spain into Philadelphia, I got the questionable single male traveler treatment with a look through my camera and laptop. Returning from Thailand into New York a few month later, I got the "welcome back Professor please keep moving" from a cutie.
I treat them all with a polite indifference that borders on contempt. Last, I smile like my Thailand gf taught me.
I'm coming to Medellin by way of Jose Maria Cordoba Airport (MDE) on June 3 and was wondering how much & how long it would be to fly from that airport to Aeropuerto Olaya Herrera, the airport right in Medellin.
Rtff & there doesn't seem to be any info specifically about that.
I suspect it's not really worth the hassle, I should just jump in a taxi, right?

AFAIK, there are no flights. It's only about 45 minutes into MDE by taxi on a good traffic day.
I just use EOH for domestic travel.

Of all places to be harassed when coming back, many times before and 3 times this year. Most of the time I either arrive at miami or orlando. I have never had a problem. However, if I had my choice I rather take miami than orlando. The "security" in orlando has becom ridiculous. You have to take your shoes of even when you come back if you can believe this.
