- The Filipinas have noticed that winking doesn't work because the guy picks a girl due to her attractiveness, not her friendliness
- If the Filipinas wave/wink, she will look slutty and cheap which will draw the ire or jealousy of other dancers
No, the others won't be jealous because she is winking at you.
Don't let the winking girl fool you though. I once picked one that seemed very friendly and she started by winking at me at the bar. I figured as some have said on this forum that it is sometimes best to have the girl pick you instead. Asked all the proper questions with her .So I gave this a try and man did it backfire. Turns out she was a runner.
The taxi ride from the airport has increased to P500. This is bullshit and a way to gouge tourists. Even P300, the old rate, was too expensive.
It was, but I was usually willing to pay it (though once or twice I walked all the way out and got the jeepney). I'll be damned if I'll pay P500. Boycott the bastards!
One way to get around the Asian male thing is to focus on the smaller bars, especially on Perimeter. It takes longer to find good girls there, but I don't mind the search.
AC can definitely be depressing, especially if you have a run of bad luck with girls or just too much of the kind of crap service you talk about. But I've always kept the faith and gone back, and I've been happy I did. One thing that helps a lot is to go with friends. I find it's not an ideal place to be on your own, but maybe that's just me.

The interview!
Apparently not in Perimeter bars. The extra cost of the LDs goes to the girls. Quoted from a post on "that other PI board":
Ladies 120 -10% = 108p -50p (girls commish)= 58 less drink cost 10p = 48p for the bar
Local 65 - 10% = 58.5p less drink 10p = 48.5p
Add mamasan commish on the ladies drinks makes another 5p difference between local and ladies
We are a little different then. I love to barhop with buddies. All day and all night long, if people are up for it (and hangover from yesterday allows it).
Although I too do a quick scan of the girls after entering a bar. No point in staying if the talent is lacking.
I have always bought a LD for the girl while conducting the interview. The way I look at it, even if I don't barfine the girl, I still had fun with her. Especially in Perimeter bars where the girls are a lot friendlier. I may change my MO though. Maybe I will ask the following question in lightning quick fashion before buying a LD:
- virgin?
- mens? can barfine?
- do you like me?
And yes, I am the kind of guy that will only barfine a girl if she likes me too. If she acts stiff, reluctant, or has even the slightest hesitation in answering the question "do you like me", I will not take her. Too many bars and too many girls in AC to put up with something like that.
After considerable time in Angeles and making a lot of mistakes. I now follow what an associate has been doing for many years in Angles.
He calls the girl down, asks if she has Menstration? If she likes to go bar fine? and that he will give a good tip. Depending on her response he then buys her one drink.
At first I was shocked at how blunt he was, but if you are there to get laid, he gets to the point.
This is a guy that has bedded more than 800 girls in the past 5 years, so I guess it does not effect the outcome.
I use to throw around 1000's of pesos in drinks and spend my time chatting and getting friendy, but in reality it is a waste of time.
Cheers
Ok, so I hate hotel room mini bars, both in terms of price and selection. Are there any decent liquor stores in AC, or should I bring a few bottles in my luggage?
You can get stuff there, but there's no reason not to hit duty free when you have a chance!
Can I buy Cebu Pacific Air ticket Manila to Bangkok from travel agents in Angeles?...Buy a Cebu Pacific Air ticket in Angeles itself? Think I should be able to but would like to know in advance.
A flight ticket out of the Philippines is required to be allowed to enter the Philippines. This exit ticket also must be dated before your visa or stamp expires. In the past they weren't real strict about this, but they were during my visits last year. You wouldn't have even been able to board the plane out of your departure country without one.
I am nearing the end of my fifth (and possibly last) trip to Angeles City. Just some observations about recent developments...
- Despite all that talk about "crackdowns" last month, life on Fields has not changed. Some people reported that each bar is only allowed one door girl. That's absurd. Bars are still employing an army of door girls.
- The taxi ride from the airport has increased to P500. This is bullshit and a way to gouge tourists. Even P300, the old rate, was too expensive. I wouldn't be as pissed if I hadn't found out about the hike until after I entered the taxi. The driver showed me a chart and it indeed showed the increase.
- If I knew about the taxi fare hike, I would have taken the new shuttle service instead for P30. There is a kiosk that sells tickets in the arrival area. I heard it goes from the airport to SM Mall, which then requires a 10 minute walk or a short trike ride to Fields.
- The modernization of the Clark airport appears almost complete! I saw two aerobridges ready for operation. This means, in the near future, passengers don't have to exit the plane by walking down a ramp onto the tarmac (and possibly getting rained on).
- There is heavy police presense everywhere. I think the massacre of Hong Kong tourists in Manila two months ago has gotten the PNP to be more serious about tourist security.
- There is no recession in the bar business. It's getting hard finding a place to sit since they're so packed. But that can be a good thing. You can walk in, walk through the bar and check out the girls before deciding if you wanna sit down and buy a drink. If no girl interests you, you can leave and nobody would notice.
- Despite most bars being absolutely filled with patrons, the number of girls still far outnumbers the patrons.
- Most bars have become flooded with Korean guys. If you walk into a large or medium sized bar, you'll see almost all Asian faces. Like it or not, these guys are getting the youngest and hottest girls. Some on this forum have said that the girls aren't driven by money as much as their desire to find a husband and a ticket out of the Philippines. That is hogwash. It is about money. I assure you Korean guys aren't in Angeles City to bring a bride back to Korea, and they're still getting all the action in Angeles.
- The bar and restaurant workers of Angeles City has become downright rude. Go to Kokomoz and the waitress will not greet you, will not ask if everything is OK and will not thank you for coming (unless you leave a massive tip). The same for Margarita Station. The same with most bars. The only friendly people are the door girls.
The reason this will likely be my final trip is, I find this country to be absolutely depressing. I know people here are in it for the money. But Filipinos take the art of money grubbing to new heights. The deeper I understand their national culture, the more I despise it. I should have tried Pattaya during this trip to Asia.
I don't dispute your experience, but question the generalization. I am going to guess you spent most of your time on Fields. Even on Fields, if your impression is the bars are packed, you limited yourself to some of the bigger bars, going to guess Blue Nile, Atlantis and Dollhouse to name a few. If you are speaking of Asian/Korean guests, think it is primarily those bars also. The fact is that most bars are not packed, business is better in November than in previous months, but packed would be an over-statement. The Asians have fallen in love with the Dollhouse group, and yes on many a night Dollhouse and Atlantis are packed with Asians.
I went to Dollhouse a week ago, yes it was packed with Asians, sat there for five minutes and could not get a waitress to take my order. In the past, as a white guy, I've called dancers over who will not sit with me because I am not Asian, and I am not a cheap charlie. BUT, your experience is not reflective of Perimeter road bars. Setting aside a general Filipina laziness, you would be warmly welcomed at most perimeter road bars. Kokomo
is home of the Cheap Charlie, not reflective of much of anything.
You speak of money grubbing. Mate, this is prostitution, P4P. Want a Filipina wife, go to the provinces. Want a one night F..k, pay money. Want a stunner, pay her, want a dog, pay her less. Want every girl on the stage to swoon over you, throw balls, ring bells, throw money, buy ladies drinks. Not to be insulting to you, so will use myself, you think these 18 year old girls are dreaming of my fat ass walking in the door for some other reason than money? You are on a forum called the International Sex Guide, not the Lonely Hearts club. Its a pay for play industry. Sometimes we forget the Pay part and only think of the Play.
Ok, so I hate hotel room mini bars, both in terms of price and selection. Are there any decent liquor stores in AC, or should I bring a few bottles in my luggage?
Personally think it is a waste of space to bring liquor with you, unless you have a unique preference. Wine might be the one exception as you may have to hunt to find a specific quality. When you get here ask the hotel to clear out the mini bar. Go to SM mall the Hypermart. There is a liquor store there, also groceries, stock up on liquor, beer, water, juices, snacks and bring it all back to your room. The girls love it, it saves money, provides a wider selection. I find many of the duty free stores to be more expensive than just buying local.
I always have a bottle of local tequila with me. A couple of shots do wonders in eliminating the natural Filipina shyness.

Some hotels can arrange a ride to/from Clarke airport. Central Park being one. They charge 300 p.
Margarita station also has an airport pickup service. 250-450 p http://www.margaritastation.com/DMIA.html

Yup, my sentiments too. If you are on your own, it's 1 depressing place. Even if I have a GFE girl staying around the clock with me, I find it difficult to have a real conversation with her. They are a bit too simple, poorly educated, not very worldly. It tends to be superficial joking around with the girl, which is a lot of fun too. It's just that you can't do that all day.

I have bought before CPA (Mla. Bangkok return) in Manila, wanted to make sure can buy in Angeles too. Don't want to stay in Manila on arrival Philippines just to buy a ticket. Normally you get better fare if you buy few days before flight. Need to visit Manila, but later on in stay, not on arrival.
Thanks. And nice to see in another post the 'sex trafficking' thing has not upset things much in Angeles. And I agree in a post, Filipinos think short term first, that is money today, koreans today. Marrying a non korean foreigner comes tomorrow, or much later, a distant 2nd priority, LOL.

speed monger!
holy moses, westcoast, you are truly a 'speed mongerer'! indeed an interesting approach you have! but why not, since 'time is money'! :)
cheers!
hesekiels
hahaha. my new nickname. i don't do it to break speed records, but i also don't like to barhop. i spend my days taking st girls, often two-somes from santos. if i'm alone, i read till about 9-10pm, and am often back in my room with a girl in less than an hour. even if i'm not terribly horny i'll get a girl to sleep with. she has no idea when i take her that i'm not going to f*ck her till the morning. on my last trip i didn't barfine as much as i normally do, as i had a phone full of numbers of former barfines, who were willing to come over for an afternoon, or just after their shift ended at midnight. whatta life.

Hi! I've always traveled alone and so do not feel uncomforable being on my on. I like going to AC and doing what I want when I want without depending on others. Just me.

Thanks everyone for your comments, Matius in particular, because tequila is what I had in mind ;-). I had never thought to ask the hotel to clear out the mini bar...I'll definitely do that on arrival.

I think we may be talking past each other. Let me try this another way:
1) Yes, you can buy a ticket from Manila to Bangkok in AC, no problem. There are several travel agencies that can help you. I have used both Kokomo's and Action Travel. It will usually take a full day to get it, though, so plan ahead.
2) However, you will not be allowed to fly from Bangkok to Manila (or Clark) in the first place without having a return ticket to Bangkok already (or at least some kind of ticket out of the Philippines).

When the girls came to sit with me for the interview process I asked each of them simply, "What do you like to do?" From 3 different girls in 3 different casas I got the same answer, "I don't know." So from then on I thought that these are strictly fucking machines. They serve no other use whatsoever. Hell even an 8 year old can tell you they like skipping rocks, fishing, or eating ice cream.
