Bwwaaahhh haaaa haaaa. You guys are going to go to jail chasing those barely legal women. Searching out 18 year-olds is saying,"If they would allow me to go younger, I would!"
I wasn't searching out an 18 year old. I pulled what I found to be the best looking girl that was dancing on stage at the time. If she had told the truth when I asked her age it would have ended right there. As I wrote earlier, I thanked the hotel staff for saving my ass.
A hotel for under $10 a night might actually be more difficult to find, unless you go in the low season.
More like impossible in any season but if someone finds one post it for the budget travelers.
If you don't mind a bit of negotiating with the girls and do not go for the high end of the market (a gogo girls and such) it should still be possible, but you will really have to search for it. Beach road freelancers and beergarden girls are your best bet then. A more realistic price would be 750 baht ST and 1500 baht LT.

No Problem to get a Beer-Bar-Girl or Freelancer for 500 Bath shorttime or 1. 000 Bath longtime. Also a Guesthouse in High-Season for 500 Bath is possible (try Soi Bukhao Area). Hotels for this price no way.

You went back and read all my old posts? Wow! You will note that I gave an account of my visit to Thailand, and gave a review of both hotels I stayed in. I am not sure what more I could have said. I asked more questions then gave facts because I had more questions then facts. Like I said though, I gave what facts I had.
I didn't go back and read pages of this forum for my answers because it is so much quicker to just ask. Please excuse the laziness.
Thanks for the help.
Not a bad strategy, why bother reading the content of pages, just ask. Seems a great selfish approach.
A perfect example of the entitlement pov. It is funny when it gets down to this level, not so funny when some idiots think they are entitled to a piece of my earned income just because I have it and they don't. Forget the fact that I worked and saved damn hard to get where I am and they didn't.
I was last in Thailand about 6 years ago. Are costs roughly the same? 500 bht short term. 1000 overnight? Can I get a cheap, but clean, motel for under $10 a night? I am planning on a trip in feburary.
Thanks
To Horatio.
The overall cost is higher now than 6 year ago everything is up and the Baht is stronger now compare to the USD, I don't go for the bottom of the barrel but my last trip 3 month ago cost about 130 USD a day for everything 6 year ago is about 100 USD a day easy.

WTF? I have given answers here. Anyone who doesn't want to answer me, doesn't have too. Notice that there were two contradictory answers to the question I asked about prices over the six years. It takes hours upon hours to decipher pages of posts compared to what is said in response to a specific question. And whoever said I was 80 to 90 percent questions was wrong. About 20 percent of my posts are saying I enjoyed someone elses post. Another whatever percent was banter, some percentage was me giving facts I learned while in Pattaya, maybe half my posts were questions.
I spent two months in Thailand. Whatever information I can give, I gladly will, but it can be and has been covered by much more experienced mongers then me. I could do mindless banter, but who really wants that? I read about 5 pages of Pattaya posts, and none of them covered what I was wanting to know.
The best way (imo) to respond to people who continuously spam with questions is to ignore the questions.
Thanks again for the answers.

Thanks
I just left Pats. If you are talking Beach Road girls, most are going for 500ST and 1k LT. There are many girls out there. More girls than customers it seems.
You can get $10 hotels in Jomtien. This is the cheapest I know of in Pattaya that is decent:

Thanks to all for the responses regarding the ATM exchanges. This is a great community of like minded individual. I will be submitting my first report soon after returning.

http://sawasdee-hotels.com/pattaya/sawasdee_mansion/index.html
Problem is not the costs have changed but the exchange rate. UK at least.
When I planned to go to Thailand long time ago now 70-75 baht for the pound.
When I made it to Thailand about 65 baht for the pound.
Now 45-50 baht for the pound.
WTF. So basically though ST may still be 500 and LT 1000 and cheap hotel 700. The conversion rate means prices are much much higher.
ANyone any idea on likelihood of exchange rate improving anytime soon?
WTF? There were two contradictory answers to the question I asked about prices over the six years. It takes hours upon hours to decipher pages of posts compared to what is said in response to a specific question.
I think there is room for argument here.
Some questions can be answered quickly with a single data point that is not subject to debate. For example: Where is the Heaven Above Go Go? Are there baht buses on Soi Buakaow? There's probably no harm in asking that type of question here, although I've found that Google is usually faster.
Most questions, however, have no hard-and-fast answer. The classic example is any question having to do with pricing. There are thousands of girls in Pattaya, and it's simply impossible to generalize about pricing. Mr. Horatio originally asked "Are costs roughly the same? 500 bht short term. 1000 overnight?" The wise guy answer is yes. By which I mean that of the thousands of girls in town at least one will go for those prices. But that doesn't really tell him what he wants to know. The same can be said for his query: "Can I get a cheap, but clean, motel for under $10 a night?" In the first place, it's circular to ask about finding a "cheap" room for $10 per night. Of course a $10 room will be "cheap." In the second place, again the wise guy answer is yes. In a city with thousands upon thousands of hole-in-the-wall rooms I'm sure there are places to stay for 300 baht. But again, that's not what he wants to know.
What he REALLY wants to know is: "What kind of girls are willing to go for 500 short time and 1000 long time?" And: "If I'm only willing pay 300 baht per night, will I be forced to stay in a scarifying dive?" Well, those questions cannot easily be answered. Yes, girls and lodging are available at those price points. Whether they would be acceptable to Mr. Horatio is impossible to say. The only way he can decide if a Pattaya trip is realistic on his (VERY limited) budget is to put in the time to read the posts going back several months. Only in that way can he get a sense for the quality of the girls and the lodging available at that price level. Then he can take an informed decision about whether he'd have fun on such a small budget.
Relying on others to answer those questions puts him at their mercy. What if I answered his original queries by saying: "No problem! Lots of girls will go for that price and you'll be able to find a "motel" for $10 per night." Come February Mr. Horatio finds himself staying in a 100 square foot room east of Third Road with just a wheezing table fan for company and banging toothless grannies he finds in Dark Side bars. He makes his way to the nearest internet cafe and takes me to task. Quite rightly, I can say I was just answering his questions.
That's why, in almost all situations, there is simply no substitute for putting in the time to read the old posts. I realize that goes against today's point-and-click lifestyle, where it's been said people don't read so much as they graze. But sometimes you cannot escape the eternal verities.
