In town Now Sunday 1/16/11
Just got to Sosua this morning. Checked into Rockys. Andmade my way to NG to meet a friend and have some lunch. Probably 6 chicas around the pool. All ok none spectacular, in my view.
Went to eat at the Brittania. Good food, I had the Ham / cheese panini. Now just sitting around rockys watching game having a few drinks. Will TR later.
Dead and buried, stick a fork in it.
Hey Guys,
I'm not much for trip reports because for the most part it's all been said before and I personally have the worst memory on the planet, haha. But due to the recent unintentional but misleading reporting (in my opinion) on the impending demise of "Our Sosua" I decided to take notes every day as best I could and report back to my fellow mongering brethren another side to the story.
First, I want to say that I do not mean to disrespect some of the members here that have written to say that Sosua is dead and have advised members to seek other venues but I think that is doing the membership a disservice to say the least and in my opinion bullshit. Yes, Sosua is morphing into a slightly different place but that is no reason to discourage people especially newbies not to come. If too many people are in fact discouraged to come and partake in our hobby then yes,"Our Sosua" will in fact die, but as of this writing Sosua is alive and well, just different. Yes there are less girls but if a guy can't find what he wants in a girl here in abundance still there is something wrong with him and he should find a different hobby. For the guys that have been coming here for awhile and remember the days of hundreds of girls all over the place then I guess it can be disappointing at first blush but one has to remember you only have one dick and in my opinion I just don't see what the difference is between 50 girls and 200 girls, I mean see'mon now how many girls does one need to look at to find one that meets one's criteria for crying out loud? I have been coming to the north shore of the DR for awhile now and have made at least 20 trips here and for me personally I hated going to Classico's and being molested to the point where girls wouldn't take no for an answer and the shoulder to shoulder crowded atmosphere of some of the bars. Outside of southeast Asia, Sosua still has one of the largest concentrations of working girls within a short walking distance of anywhere that I know of even at the reduced chica numbers.
I am staying at New Garden for my first time. Much has been written on this place over the years, I will give a quick take on it. I like the place, it is close to the action yet very quiet, I expected quite the opposite. There have been anywhere from 5 to 20 "pool girls" here every day, I have seen five ex Blackbeards girls here, Josey, Pamela, Dorca, and two whose names I can not remember. I did Josey back in her BB's days for one short romp about three years ago and whenever I see her she remembers my name I can't believe it. I haven't taken any girls here back to my room and probably won't as there are too many other girls around town. The food has been good and the rooms are nice, everything else that one needs to know about this place has been said on this board a thousand times so enough of that.
Most guys on this board use the scene at Classico's as a barometer of how things are going in Sosua. This is no longer a good way to judge the scene down here because many of the girls are moving around from place to place. I am not a late night guy and Classico's is a late night place so I can not report what it was like in there late at night and as I mentioned before I never liked it there in the first place.
My first two nights I went to El Flow. I like it there because it is mostly locals that hang there and party, not a lot of gringos and that is my preference. The music is extremely loud in El Flow because that is the way the locals like it, I don't like loud music but I tolerate it because if you want to imbibe yourself with the locals whether it is in their homes, barrios or in their clubs you have to get used to it. Girls were coming and going all night long and I pulled two absolute stunners out of there both nights. They had some kind of special going on there, a bucket of three Presidente Grandes on ice for 180 pesos and I got good and drunk on the cheap. Now keep in mind that I stayed there a good long time drinking and waiting for the right girl to come by. It is one of the only bars left where you can sit at a table outside on the sidewalk and check out what is walking by and what enters the bar and that is what I did. In the past the bar and the sidewalk would be packed with girls but now the girls are on the move but still plenty of girls coming and going just not in the numbers as before. I don't see the big deal with this and in fact I like it because I am not being harassed by any girls, just chillin' and drinking and waiting to pull the trigger when I see what I want, what the fuck is wrong with that?
Saturday was the bikini contest at New Garden. $20. US for guys which included free BBQ and all the cubre libres you could drink, I expected them to pour some shit rum but they were in fact pouring Brugal so it was a good deal for me as I like a good cubre libre the problem is a lot of bars pour garbage rum but not here. There were only four girls that entered the contest but there were at least 50 girls that showed up for the contest and I had a blast and grabbed a gorgeous Haitiana and we went up to my room, this girl was off the hook, all holes, BBBJCIMWS, you name it she did it, she wore me the fuck out. Yeah, Sosua is dead, WTF.
Sunday was the NFL playoffs so around noon I walked around scouting out where the best place to watch the games would be. I decided on Rumba bar, an excellent choice. They have 4 or 5 50" flat screens in the bar and they had set up a HUGE projection screen outside it had to be 12 feet across. During the Seattle-Green Bay game the place was dead but I knew things would pick up and by the time the Patriots-Jets game came on the place was rockin'. I hung with a bunch of brothers from D. C. And had a real fun time. Girls were coming in and out of there by the shitload and it was my new friends last night here so they were looking to score. One of the guys had his eyes on a cute girl with huge tits and he decided she was more important than the game and off they went. One of his buddies couldn't stop busting on him for missing part of the game to get his dick wet when a girl walked up to the table to say Hello, and when I tell you she was one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen in the DR I'm not joking, no makeup on just pure beauty. 19 years old with a near perfect body. Well I knew I had to have her but I wanted to watch the game so I asked her for her number but she said she was heading back to Santiago where she goes to school so I didn't bother. Well the guy that was hating on his friend for going with a girl during the game couldn't resist himself, grabbed her and they disappeared for the rest of the night, I can't say I blamed him one bit as she was hot, hot, hot, hahaha. Once again, plenty of girls to choose from in all sizes and colors, something for everyone. Sosua is dying, the sky is falling and whatever other bullshit you want to believe.
Food choices:
New Garden's food has been good.
The place next to Terre Linda, Steak and? Sucked for the money.
The Waterfront, high end place with the best ambiance excellent food and high prices, if for some crazy reason if you want to try and impress a girl bring her here. Personally I didn't come here to impress anyone and ambiance doesn't mean shit to me here.
The best food, largest menu with fair prices is Brittania Club, just a short walk down Pedro Clisante. I have eaten here every day and it has been awesome.
I am scheduled to leave here tomorrow and head to BB's for 5 days but I just might cancel my reservation there and hang in Sosua for the remainder of my trip because well, it sucks here now.
As always all of this is just my opinion and YMMV.
Arriving on the North coast soon for about 3 weeks
Hi guys, I am coming to the DR for about 3 weeks for the first time in 10 years on 31st January, and the last time was only for a week in Santo Domingo. So I am just about a DR novice. After a lot of trouble finding some reasonably priced tickets there from Europe, I have finally booked my flight out, but not yet my return, still checking prices and dates. Do you have to have a return flight in order to be allowed in the country, do they check for this at the airport?
I have been trawling through pages upon pages of the ISG in order to inform myself, but I still need to ask some questions as the DR threads are pretty overwhelming and go on forever. I am still hesitating where to stay at first on the north coast, an all inclusive for a week to begin with? Maybe BB's or New Garden hotel? How does the quality / reliability / prices of the New Garden girls compare to those at BB's, and is it a nice place to stay / relatively hassle free. I read a posting here saying the girls there try to inflate prices more than those at BB's, is this generally the case?
As an alternative to getting taxi's everywhere, or buses, what about renting a motorbike from a local, any possibilities to do this, do the police stop / check foreigners a lot? I remember last time I was there, I asked some young guy on his bike at Boca Chica, and he seemed quite interested in the idea. Or what about cycling / renting a bike, or is that too dangerous on the roads there?
I sent a few e-mails to apartment rentals from vrbo, and had a reply from The Palms. Sousa Vacation rentals, does anybody know it? Is it chica friendly? Another hotel which looks fairly interesting is Sousa by the Sea, same questions go for that one please! I would not mind staying in a nice all inclusive for the first week, but I suppose all of those in general are not chica friendly, am I right? Any advice for this DR virtual novice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers for now.
