Alternative accomodation Shanzu Beach
With Easter upon us and MBA being overrun by people from upcountry, I wasn't able to secure a room for my today's afternoon delight at any of my regular hideaways.
I drove up and down some side streets with shuttered ASC hotels on them until I chanced upon the "Millbrook Luxury Resort", situated just North of the Continental Hotel. By no means is it a resort, nor is it luxurious, but they offer pretty decent and spacious double rooms with nice beds (thick foam mattress imbedded into a concrete base) and a powerful ceiling fan and a clean bathroom for 1, 500 ST incl of 2 beers.
Their room service menu is pretty extensive and I was tempted by a few TexMex items which I haven't had for some time (Fajitas, Chalupas, Chimichanga, Gorditas) but, in order to avoid likely disappointment, settled for some true Kenya nyama choma (good fillet!) instead.
Their overnight rate is 2, 500 but I got the sense that they are willing to negotiate off that.
Not a bad location for those who like it quiet and secluded.
