Thank you, WT69! I have looked at Hotel Playa - it looked pretty good, but having wifi in my room is one of my core requirements. I will report if Dann is guest friendly and to what degree.
I can never forget returning to DaysInn in San Hose (across the street from Del Ray) late at night with two beautiful girls and the hotel people telling me I can only bring one (1) girl with me to the room. Unable to choose, I was forced to pay for a another room just to get the second girl in which was a shame since I never even went to that extra room. In contrary, I had no such problem in Boca Chica, where a $5 tip to a guy guarding the door was more than sufficient. From my experience, smaller hotels have less restrictive practices than larger chains.
I'm new on this website but I would like to help you to find wherever you want in cartagena. soon I'll post some hotel and new information about discos and prices.

Relapse
Just a little note that the penthouse Juan rents has just completed it's second remodeling.
The marble floors were not giving off a good shine so they were replaced with porcelain floors that are so clean you can eat off them.
All the sofas were re-skinned since the leather was looking dull.
All the bedrooms, as well as the main living room, have LCD TV's now.
There is now a small LCD screen that shows you who is in the lobby before you grant permission to enter.
There is a new metal security door in the stairwell on the floor below the penthouse that prevents anyone without keys from even entering the floor. The police were called on my one night for too much noise and gave up when they got to the security door.
The speakers have been replaced on the terrace around the Hot Tub.
We added our own private water filtration system and a new water pumping station. You could actually probably drink the water now unlike any other apartment in Laguito but we still provide free bottle water.
Ethernet has been added to the main room and the two downstairs bedrooms for those guys who have been asking to hook up their gadgets directly.
The new Belkin router shows who is online in a little screen so you can see if anyone is stealing bandwidth.
The entire place has been painted inside and out.
A new large desk has been added in the main bedroom as well as other pieces of furniture throughout.
For those who stay in it a couple years ago you would agree the elevator sucked. Well it was fixed a while ago and is very reliable now.
There are several other small things as well. I am going to make a video soon showing it room by room so people can see exactly what they are getting for the money.
If you want futher info email Juan at itts@hotmail.com
Thank you and please check whatever you find against this List.

The raining season start in Cartagena, get your umbrella here for free, Lol, well when is raining in cartagena in the streets are water all over around and it's too dificult to go out, the bocagrande area or the old city is impossible to walk or drive. bring a boat if you want to go out. I'm just kidding.
I've traveled all over Latin America. I've been to Cuba, DR, Honduras, Panama, Costa Rica, and Mexico. I'm looking to go to Colombia but have some concerns. First of all, once and for all, if I am traveling alone, should I be concerned about danger. Does it feel dangerous when you are walking alone during the day and or night?
<quote>Secondly, as far as getting women is concerned, which spot in Colombia is the best for getting women, and which is the cheapest? Cartagena, Medellin, Cali, or Bogota? </quote>
Two questions here. Which is the best? Cartagena is the best for availability and GFE, but it is not the cheapest. I can't say I'm intimately familar with these places, but it seems the Medellin casas and Santa Fe in Bogoto are the cheaptest places. Not my scene though.
<quote>Thirdly and finally, I've been reading about the prices for women in Colombia and it seems that if you are paying $50 or less, you are getting a steal. This seems outrageous to me. In Panama, you can go to bars where you can bang hot COLOMBIAN women for $10 for 10 minues. Yes, $10 for 10 minutes and they are Colombian and they are hot. So in reality, shouldn't I just keep going to Panama? Why even bother going to Colombia which has more expensive airfare and seems to be more dangerous? Maybe I'm missing something. Please help with any info.
1) Yes, you should be concerned about danger, but Cartagena is the least dangerous of all Colombian cities. Wherever you are though, you need to use your smarts: don't wear expensive clothes or jewellery, don't get drunk alone, note down the numbers of taxis before you get in them. The last point is especially true outside of CTG.
2) I can't compare it to Panama as I've never been. But you can get those sorts of prices in the Medellin casas (and probably other places too). They're usually not HOT though and I'd be surprised if they were in Panama.
3) I personally like CTG a lot as I like clubs, drinking and partying when I'm hunting and there are many options there. But if casas or strip joints are you thing then other places in Colombia will be better.

Secondly, as far as getting women is concerned, which spot in Colombia is the best for getting women, and which is the cheapest? Cartagena, Medellin, Cali, or Bogota?

However, I might be taking through both ends of my mouth, because of my hispanic look and the fact that I speak spanish fluently. If that is not your case that might be different.
As for Medellin, once again, I have seen the sun go up while in el centro. No problems until this day knock on wood. However, I don't drop my guard ever. As long as you keep awareness of your surroundings, it could be like any other city. You wouldn't be bragging about in the middle of harlem or east l. A? Right?
In regards to girls, each city has its difference. Take some time to read through the forums. Cartagena is more accesible for long term. Medellin is more short term. I find Medellin to be cheaper when all the costs involved are taken in consideration. Cartagena is geared toward tourism, and by default, cost is higher. In Bogota, population in general, is more distant. The driving there is an experience to be had. Cali's places are not as concentrated in one sector like lets say for example Medellin.
You want cheap, you can have a streetwalker in degreiff (Medellin) for25 to 30, 000 pesos (15 usd or so). However, you get what you pay for. 10 minutes for 10 usd in Panama? What year was this on?
Once again, I suggest you read through the forums for each city and decide for yourself.

Hello fellow mongers,
Some friends and I are going to Cartagena in mid October and I need to know if the Hotel Almirante Cartagena Estelar is a good place to stay. We have all been to Moscow, Argentina, and Panama and now have a special attraction to Colombian women and decided to go to the source! Any advice on this would be VERY MUCH appreciated. I don't want to stay at the "wrong" type of place. It looked very nice from the photos, but I would rather know first hand from some people that have been there. I prefer luxury and convenience, but need to know if they allow chicas too.
Thanks in advance for your assistance,
Tommy J.
I keep going there girls in Cartagena are about 100 each all night for hot ones.So so looking at beach 50 bucks.
Medellin Fase II sucks now.Low end casas aren't none too pretty but I am a snooty fucker.Mansion girls and Loutrons now are better looking but 80 bucks or so.As far as those college girls that people continue to talk about I wouldn't have sex with those girls if they paid me!Mansion girls are mostly in college way better looking.I would be staying there now but no one responded to my emails so I am at the Holiday INN EL Pablado.Energy probably has best quality of cheap casas.
Cali the casa girls are ugly but there about what 25-40 bucks only one casa in Cali has good looking ones and is not listed here its a secret between a few of us.
I would stay in Panama I have done CTG,Mde,and Cali all in last 8 weeks. If your on budget stay in Panama quality is probably better anyway.
2) From what I am reading on this site the cheapest decent apartment or hotel room would cost at least $80 US per nite in Cartagena. Is this true? I usually don't like to go over US $50 per nite when I travel. I don't need luxury, but I don't want to stay in a dump though. Anything decent in Cartagena for under $80?
Same here! I feel the same way. Anything good in the 50-60 range?
1) Is the Hotel Playa in the Bocagrande area of Cartagena guest friendly? Are bar girls allowed in rooms? Allowed for short time or all night? Must pay extra for guests? How much? Any info is appreciated.
2) Is the Bocagrande area of Cartagena out of the way, or in an OK location? Is it close or far from bars or beaches?
Thanks

I had the same concerns as you, but from what I read Cartagena is fairly safe and has action. I may be willing to pay a little extra for safety. I am hoping to arrange it to be in Cartagena for a total of three weeks in late November and early December, to avoid the heavy rains. Dates not yet set. I'll be travelling alone. Let me know if you want to hook up in Cartagena.
There are maps in the List.
Hotels and Apartment in Bocagrande and El Laguito is on or near a beach. There is not any beaches near the Old City.
Most of the clubs are in the Old City, except LDV. Which three blocks from Hotel Playa. I believe you can bring chicas into the hotel. But there is also a Love motel two or three doors from there.
