I am heading to AC in a few weeks time and am looking at staying at the Ramada Hotel in San Narciso St. Malabanias, opposite Tiger Hotel. It meets all my requirements - pool, free wi-fi & mineral water, 24 hr room service and safety box.
Is this location close to the action? Anyone stayed there before?
My alternative is the Swiss Chalet but they are more expensive by 500p/night

Swiss Chalet is closer to the action. The Ramada you are talking about is about five or six minutes brisk walk from the action. Not sure what it is like to walk at night.
Have not stayed there, so cannot comment further.
Read about this place somewhere. But dont know exact location (how far from Fields?). Anyone seen or stay here before. Is this a dump or is this place worth the money?

Haven't stayed there myself but here is a link to Beeline travel and their review of the place.

Older reports about pb are found in the ac thread.

I know some may not be aware.-
But use caution with Beeline Travel
They tend to post propoganda on lots of sites that they are the best option for bus service etc.
1. They are much more expensive than most options. The best I have used is FLY THE BUS from Manila to AC. Though there are even cheeper options then they.
2. I used Bline once as they were said to have the best busses and I wanted to check them out-- the bus was worse than any I had used and broke down half way to AC, it took over 8 hours for them to get us picked up at our location and to AC- we were all sweating and drunk. It was awefull.
3. I have read reports that they have even lost peoples Passports etc and they were late getting extensions and fined when leaving.
Whatever your choice I say just shop around and be carefull with this company.

I wouldn't recommend Beeline, I used their taxi service once to Clark. Cost me 500 peso if I recall correctly. But for newbies trying to decide what hotel to stay in, it is useful.
Try this link for AC hotels. Margarita Station has a pretty good reputation.

I was thinking of staying at Lewis Grand or ABC for my next stay, as a step up from my usual digs at PB or the like.
They both mention that they offer airport transfer on their websites, but neither mentions what they charge. Does anyone know what they charge for pick-up at NAIA? 2500-2700P seems pretty standard at other hotels. I was wondering if these hotels tried to soak you on the transfer for their “luxury” (e.g. Wild Orchid charges 2700 vs. Orchid Resorts 2500??!!).
Guys, I think someone mention that Beeline had a review of a specific hotel another member was asking about, not whether Beeline was any (good or bad) for traveling. Lets stick to hotels only for this thread.
Just wanted to point this out.

Must be my eyes, but is there a link for a better map. Can't seem to read anything on the map, except the big Margarita logo. This map seems to good as to actual scale of the area (some of the hand drawn maps are not that useful as it don't include the scale of the areas.)
Perhaps someone with a good map of AC can scan it and post it for us.
thanks

Anyone tried this place. I will take a go next week and post some reviews. usually stay Pac Breeze, but buddy is on budget.
In AC this week and did some hotel shopping (I usually stay at Pacific Breeze.) ABC refuses to budge from $99 for a room. Bag that.
Lewis Grand, despite being a 5 to 10 minute walk from ground Zero (Pacific Breeze is a 1 minute walk), is now my first choice. Cheapest rooms are only $39 (versus $58 at PB), although no view or minibar. But the deluxe rooms are $69 and much nicer than PB. The pool is the best in town, way better than the tiny, mostly shaded, pool at ABC or the plain pools at PB or Oasis. It is also the only hotel in town with a resident monkey.
The restaurant is top notch, everything is super clean and spacious, and it is quieter than PB. Best of all no trike driver scum lingering out front. It is far enough from the center to lack the crowds and noise and viagra vendors, but an easy walk to EITHER the Fields bar area OR the Perimeter Bar area.
