Iloilo City Not a Mongering City But....
I recently came back from a Travel Conference in Iloilo City and While I was busy,I went out twice acting as a sort of guide to some first timers to Iloilo. We discovered it is a religous city dominated by the Catholic church. Thus there were no KTV s or Stripclubs in the city. The Clubs that opened were picketed and vandalized by the locals until they closed. To cite an example About 7-8 years ago,They forced the casino to close down by picketing it daily and throwing stones to break the windows of the casino,When the Casino people protested and asked for police help. The Mayor refused and even announced that they would NOT FILE ANY charges against anybody vandalizing the casino. The next day the Mayor was himself leading the people in picketing and vandalizing the Casino.Ditto for the Bikini Carwash,Strip Clubs etc.Picketing and Vandalizing by the locals who destroy customers cars quickly forced them to close
On a positive lot,There is a complex called Smallville where you can pick up freelancers as some of my companions did,These are a couple of bars and clubs.Likewise there are a couple of discrete casas where you can order takeout,My friend was able to order room service for about 2,500 from the Bellboy.Looks 6-7.Cant speak for her service since I did not ask.Iloilo has some nice old churches and the Miago Cathedral is on the list of world heritage sites.Good seafood but for mongering give it a miss.
