The Medellin scene during elections
Bars and Clubs will surely be closed. A few restaurants might be open though.
A smart thing to do (my experience with the "dry" rule) is to buy whatever drinks you need to buy on Friday afternoon (before 6) at your regular supermarket or liquor store, and just have a house party at home or wherever you're staying.
In fact, if you already have some kind of amiga, she'll most probably be bored to death too and find an invitation for some drinks at your place better than staying home, whatching TV.
Don't go out after drinking, though. People caught drunk on the street can be taken to a police station overnight. But then again, this might also prove to be a good excuse to ask a girl to stay overnight.
I agree with most if not all of this post. From personal experience I can tell you that at Casa Blanca the elections are actually beneficial because the girls want to hang out because of the lack of places to go. Wait a minute, When I was there Greg was out of town. He might bring a party to a halt by running the girls off. How about it, Greg?
P.S. Your room (#1 was great). markinno
