Has anybody recently used taxi from to varadero airport-vedado, what's the current going rater for 1 person?
Any other reliable transport option to get to varadero airport at 8; 00 AM (have to leave vedado 5-6). No viazul at such early hour.

Fuck that. Viazul runs by the airport at 8:30 am. 12 noon. 4:25 and 6:25 pm. Give or take a few minutes for $10. 50.
You might also catch a hotel bus picking up guests. Worst case is CUC$25 but you might haggle them down to $20.
Taxi will be about CUC$70/80

Well, your post said Varadero-Vedado.
Habana to Varadero runs at 0800, 0830, 1200 & 1600.
You had better check that noon one as it depends on where you get it

Ask a Cuban with a car for a discount, like 60-70 CUC. Pay him before he drops you of in the airport. There is no other reliable options that early in the morning.

Just wondering when is the best time of year to travel to Cuba. Taking into account nice weather, girls available. Is it best to go in the low season and avoid male competition or are the number of girls low in low season or is it best to go in hight season and chase the girls. I'm interested in 9s and 10s.
Greatful for any useful info.

Hi folks,
Spending 4 weeks in Cuba soon. Do most casas particulares allow female guests or is it a hit and miss to find such casas? I will stay some days in Havana and then fly to Baracoa having about 3 weeks to head back to Havana. I prefer to feel the real Cuba adventures so I will not use a rental car. Just camiones, viazul and train.
Any tips for casas? Will write detailed reports about the different towns when I'm back.
Thanks in advance,
Hotzo

hotzo
it is not a hit and miss if you talk to the owner upfront and let him / her know you will have "visitors." most of them will be ok and will lay out the rules (like no **** girls) , but you have to make sure they are ok before committing. it is also a good idea to stay a few nights to see how the place works out for you and then extend your stay.
enjoy your trip.

Chica. The problem could arise if you wish to have a succession of them! They will almost certainly be required to register, especially if staying overnight.
On the occasions I have been to Baracoa, even with regular girlfriends, most of the casa's I tried to book in with were not keen at all to allow entertaining of chicas! I found it best to concentrate on Santiago de Cuba or Holguin, when I was at that end of the island, which had no such problems!
Expect to waste a lot of time if using public transport. If you feel confident, and can speak some Spanish, my advice would be to rent a car. You will also find having a car will immeasurably increase your chances of a casual pick-up when travelling as there will be lot girls hitching en-route between towns.
Good luck!
Bonker.
Hi folks,
There is a good web page which guides you through some casas particulares:
http://www.alojamientosencuba.com/plano-habana.htm
This map allows to find.
- BLUE: Rooms located within the family's apartment (I guess they are mainly not chica friendly. Read the description of the casa as some of them will do)
- RED: Completely independent apartments (either separate entry to a private room or a whole separate apartment. Select one and look for "se admiten acompaņantes cubanos / as" within the description)
- GREEN: Mixed, which could be separate room plus also rooms within the family's home or similar (look at the description if guests are allowed).
Anyway, when booking always ask explicitely if guests are allowed, even though it's stated on the web site.
Print the reservation and take it with you when arriving at the casa of your choice, it is easier to discuss with the owner regarding guests. If required at all. When it is written on the casa confirmation.
There are also casas listed outside of Havanna.
If anybody is in Cuba during May, let's meet for a drink.
Enjoy your trip (I will do also) ,
Hotzo
Hello, it is my first trip and I want to know if I can take sex toys to La Havana. Someone of you has travel with sex toys without problems or simply it is necessary to pay a money extra for them.
Thanks for the answers.
