Couple Awesome Choice. Just don't do BBBJ no problem
Look the great part about the club in Germany is that you have a choice. If you are worried then just don't do BBBJ. If you are really concern than just don't go to the clubs. Sorry I don't want to cause a war here. But I like the BBBJ and to me I want to continue with having that choice.
Friedrichsdorf or Bad Homburg?
Thank you for all the tips reg the travel, I woud have to say that I am a little confused now and certain that you will clarify that for me. I am geting ready for my first trip planned for past 3 years! Wow! V excited guys.
I was under the impresion that the train station that I have to get off is Friedrichsdorf, however from the below post it looks like there is a train station in Bad Homburg too. Can you tell me which is the one close to Mercure?

The Mercure Hotel is about 20 minutes walk from Friedrichsdorf S-5 station. Bad Homburg is two tram stops from Friedrichsdorf.
There are so many posts about the taxi problems outside Friedrichsdorf S-5 station. It's about 10 Euro taxi ride from Friedrichsdorf to Oase, but it's 16 Euro taxi ride from Bad Homburg to Oase. I have the following thought but I don't know if it works. I need input. I buy a day pass at Hauptbahnhof ticket counter then take S-5 to Friedrichsdorf. I try to take taxi from Friedrichsdorf to Oase. If I can not find any taxi outside Friedrichsdorf S-5 station, I use the same day pass go back to Bad Homburg then take taxi overthere. Is there any problem? Please advise.

If you go to the Friedrichsdorf station, there might be a taxi there, there might not be. Yes, you could backtrack on your day pass (Tageskarte) , but be mindful that on the weekends, the S-5 only comes around every half hour. So, you could lose some serious time by making this mistake and having to backtrack. When I'm that close to Oase, yes, an extra half hour of wasted time would just kill me when I could be spending that time in more "entertaining" ways.
Now if you bought the one-way ticket (Einzelfahrt) , you can't backtrack with that ticket. Remember Bad Homburg is outside the central zone 50, so you can't just buy the central Frankfurt ticket (Tageskarte Frankfurt or Einzelfahrt Frankfurt). You have to pay extra. If you're using one of the old ticket machines, you have to type in the Bad Homburg destination 5101. If you're using one of the newer touchscreen ticket kiosks, you just type in the name of your destination city, Bad Homburg. You end up paying about 1. 40 Euros more or something like that.
When you leave Oase, you can always take the taxi straight to the Friedrichsdorf station since it's the closest and you don't need to have a taxi waiting for you there obviously. You might want to review the S-5 schedule so you know when the last train out leaves and when the next one is coming to avoid missing the train by 3 minutes and consequently having to wait around another half hour. As for which station is closer to Mercure, I do not know the answer to this question, but my friend Google Maps is very smart about these sorts of questions and would be happy to help you. Google Maps shows all of the train stops as well.
