I certainly hope nobody starts beating up people based on my very limited discription! If I can get more details I will post them. I would hate to be the cause of a innocent person getting "punished".

Neobes..
The drug war will be the furthest thing from your mind when you get here.
It's happening but unless you happen to be in the wrong place at the right time, you would never know anything was amiss.
Enjoy your weekend bro!
I'll go out there this weekend and ask Jorge (mesero) what he knows about it.
doesn't matter who the girl is are where she works. None of these women deserve this type of treatment from us. And the girls in the Marabu expecially as they tend to be the shy type with low mileage on them.
On Friday night I asked a chica and a mesero for info on this beating, neither one would admit to knowing anything, the chica I spoke with, name escapes me, I was told, by someone that knows BJ, knows BJ's wife.
I spoke with the girl who was beat up and was told she left BT and went to Cabo. She says she feels much safer there. To bad, she was a great girl.
Well, I went to visit my old stomping grounds in BT and really nothing has changed. Still the same ol scenerio. I spoke to one of the "parking Attendants" whom I've known for years and he started to explain most of the killings and shootings that went on in the past few months. Basically guys, it's a turf war between the local cops (whom most are arrested or unemployed) and the Federal cops that were flown in from the capital to clean house. In the middle are the drug cartel. What this means to the monger community is "not a damn thing" If you go and mind your buisness and keep your teeth together you'll not notice a thing. NL seems to be the same ol same ol. I had two honey's while I was there and tried to take some pics but no way. The chicas were uncoopertive.
Be safe!
Went down last weekend, and like BorderJumper said, no problems at all. I actually feel safer to see the city police without their guns. The police station in BT was totally closed and dark, so no potential policia shakedowns for me. The only pain in the ass was that I got caught for about 2 hours on each side of the bridge cause some assholes keep phoning in bomb threats and shutting the bridge down. Other than that, no problems at all. Plenty of bonita chicas still in the compound. Can't remember the name of the chica I spent time with, but about 5'3'', super long curly hair and smoking hot body. One of the "tour guides" on my way out at the taxi stand asked me if I did her in the butt cause that's what's she likes, but I stayed away from the 'ol Hershey highway. She did do a bbbj which kind of freaked me out because I've never done that there, but mucho cervezas convinced me it was a good idea. All in all, I spent 2 hours with her for $100 plus $12 room fee plus $2 for condoms. She had the little Catholic schoolgirl plaid skirt on which drives me crazy. She gave me an inspired performance, and was worth twice the price, so I tipped her $30. Anyways, for any gringos that are fearful from all the bullshit going on down there, just be respectful and stay away from the drogas and you'll be fine. I even had some local guys buy me drinks at El Tarro for a couple of hours. Everybody is suffering financially down there from this drug war, so just make sure to take care of the people in the Mex that take care of you. Damn I love Mexico!
Note: Boystown Will Now Close Early
The Laredo newspaper from today (August 9) is reporting that all the bars and businesses will be closing at midnight starting this coming thursday. As far as I know the gates never close at boystown, but they will starting on August 11th. Of course, this is in response to the violence that is occuring.
I imagine many of the girls will either leave NL or they will start working earlier.
Here is a clip of the article.

NUEVO LAREDO - Struggling to quell the ceaseless violence in this border city, federal authorities have imposed a midnight curfew effective Thursday on bars, nightclubs and most restaurants - with the complete support of local business owners.
Even the fabled "Zone of Tolerance," where prostitution is legal, will close its gates at midnight.
"We are in solidarity with the proposal that the mayor has made," said José Luis Ortiz Cárdenas, president of the Association of Bars and Cantinas. "Reducing hours will benefit us because we will be able to curtail expenses at a time when the tourist presence has been devastated."
The curfew will continue for at least 30 days.
Ortiz Cárdenas said the chaos caused by the violence has caused the economy to be turned upside down, and order must be restored.
Martha Cuéllar, representing the businesses that operate in the Zone of Tolerance, said what's most important is that city life return to normal, for the sake of all the people, residents and visitors alike

I've had a trip planned to the Laredo area for over a month and planned on visiting both NL and Piedras. With the curfew in NL, does anyone have any suggestions on picking up ladies or semipros outside of the zona? I plan on spending one night in both locations to sample the women. I just don't want to make the drive up to NL if you don't think it'll be worth the trip. I think the curfew might help drive the prices down in NL and maybe up in Piedras. How can I capitalize on the curfew?
Horn
Texas Horn;
You're asking the question that is on everyones mind right now and no body seems to have an answer for it.
Last weekend, we had about a 95% compliance rate with the curfew. BT closed at midnight but the room girls were all out and about. They did not chain the entrance as had been expected. Only difference was no booze after midnight.
The city is quiet except for occasional outbursts of violence. the people being killed are targeted and it is a foregone conclusion that if the Narcos want you dead, you're dead!
It isn't affecting the mongers to BT or the tourists to Centro.
The people rescued here a while back and then arrested by the Mexican Police were found to all have some type of connection to the drug trade there. Be it they were neighborhood dealers or family members of dealers who had crossed th bosses. One guy was found to be wanted for murder in Laredo Texas. Kinda blows away the families pleadings that their sons and daughters would never be involved with drugs.
TX Horn, come on down. The curfew is supposed to run for 30 days but most people don't think it will last but a couple of weeks. The ones ignoring the curfew are not being punished because they have not violated any liquor laws.
As far as the prices are concerned, don't expect any difference but be pleasantly surprised if you save a few bucks. Mexicans do not look at Economics 101 as we learned them. Their solution to a frop in business or a bad economy is to raise prices instead fo lowering them. The thinking is they are not going to lose any of their bottom line for anything but of course, they lose that much more business.
Some of the girls are bailing but they will be back eventually. This might be a good time to catch a TLN for a good rate if you stick to the second tier girls. Sometimes a jewel can be found amongst the bunch.

I was there from Thursday night till Sunday noon, I had a room in the compound. Stayed there 3 nights. Door girls were scarce after midnight, and the building where I stayed locked the outside gates at midnight, the manager saying she would be fined if she did not lock up. A couple door girls were in the same building, and they were locked in at midnight too.
Papas ssemed almost normal right up till midnight closing, wierd being throw from there at that time.
Some girls went to Acuña, I was told.
BorderJumper,
Thanks for the reply. I'll be there on the 26th-28th.
Does anyone have any information on the massage ads that can be found in the El Manana newspaper. I figured I'd try those in the early evening hours.
TX Horn
I went by the compound during the week. I met up with Adriana. She gave the usual A+++ service. The significance was my conversation I had with her. She said that the closing at midnight requirement has cut her business by over half. She said that if business did not pick up by this weekend, she would leave.
I don't know if this is true or not, but Adriana has been around for several years, and if she is thinking about leaving, you know it is bad. The good part about business being slow is that there is plenty of girls to pick from, and they seen as eager as ever to please!!! I know there is a report about prices going up to make up for the lack of business, I don't know if this is true or not, but the need to be willing to please factor seems to be up!
Hello,
I was reading the board and I am very upset about what has been happening in Boystown. I posted a reply to my last visit back in 10/04 I normally go then, and always give you good feedback. Details. I am a little scared now to go. Tis guy they decribe sounds a little like me, but vauge. I have highlighted blonde hair, but have not been there since 10/04. If I go, I hope they don't pick me out and say blonde guy! He's dead! I have always had a good time there, always use a condom! man hate to play with my life that way. I guess I would like to know what has been going on and if the curfew is still in effect. If I go again, I always come back with good detailed info . Hate to see this happening. Anyone know of a good hotel right on the boarder. I normally stay outside of Mexica, and walk over. If the curfew is set, I will have to get there during the day.
You all be safe!

...but, speaking of Adriana, look what happened across the street from her on Sunday night:
