Trying to get there in November, looking forward to your recent report from there, especially a safe place (hotel) to stay

Great location next to Madhouse, was clean and spacious, decent shower and no problems with girls coming in as long as they had I'd. On the downside not exactly luxurious, TV did not work and pool area was so-so. All in all for a short visit was fine and may well stay there again.

Can anyone recommend a nice day time activitiy (tours) besides the safari stuff. Or a trusted tour guide out there, I know some will say take / ask one of the girls you shag the night before but prefer one I did not or a professional tour guide who won't scam you. So were where some of the places you guys been? I hear there is a casino or two in Kenya also anyone been? Or there is not really much of Kenya to see during the day?

You could also visit the "zoo", museum, cafe (and people watch) , downtown to central business district, or to the stadium to take in a soccer match. I did 1, 3, and 4 and of course, banged the sugarwalls and backside of my temporary Kenyan gf.

Go to a nice hotel (that you are presumably not staying at because it's absurdly expensive) , glide in for free or pay the day fee to use the pool and gym (and bar and restaurant) , bring a book and an mp3 player and pretend you're on a cruise for three or twelve hours.
I miss Nairobi.

I preferred to avoid pissy swimming pools full of little kids. I am black so I don't sun bath. Otherwise, I also watched TV programming like Border Security, Cake Boss, Mythbuster, Manswers, (yeah Discovery Channel rocks) as well as some other uniquely African programming. I also thought about playing golf but did not want to embarrass myself as I haven't touched my clubs this year due to all of my traveling.
Any recent visitor to Nairobi been to that night club in Carnivore, it's still a good place to meet girls? Plan to visit in November and will be trying to get a room at Chesters House, is that close to this club? Or is there a closer hotel to Canivore, thanks in advance for your replies.

There is no variety there on the girls. Plus the distance plays a part in it. Carnivore is about 8km from Chester House. And about 1km from public transport. So the girls that would make it there would have to be driving or taking a cab.
However, there are some clubs close by Carnivore where you can meet some local girls. Rafikiz and Psys which usually have a hoard of educated girls.
Hotels close by? I think there used to be a Kenya Comfort Hotel close by. Not so sure about that one.
I just want to say thanks once again for everyone's help and opinions about my future African adventure. I'm 36 and I came to international travel fairly late. When I think of the time and money I wasted in my 20's vacationing in places like New England and Seattle and San Diego. I was visiting zoos for god sake! Damn it, I want all those wasted spring breaks back. The money I dropped in Vegas alone would have covered 3 or 4 trips to Thailand. Please believe me when I say that you guys, and this board, have opened my eyes to the world in a way no geography teacher ever could. I'm aiming for Nairobi in November. I'll return to the board with full details of the carnage. Oh I had one more quick question about condoms in Africa. Do most chemists carry the name brands or the weird off brands like in Thailand. Size Matters but the thought of walking through customs with a bag full of top hats does not appeal to me. Do I need to load up before I go or can I get them there? Thanks again for your patience. Oh and if any of you have any sway over the USA economy, could you make the dollar a bit stronger in November (Smiling).
Cheers,
Whiskey
Are you for sure going in November?
Spent a week in Nairobi recently and as I benefitede from others here it's only fair to share what I experienced.
Landed mid evening and stayed at Chester House...
Nice report Jamie69, answers a lot of questions I had about bars close to Chesters, thanks. Looking forward to my stay in November
Anyone know the normal rate for a taxi from the airport to Chesters place? I noticed Chesters charges 2, 500ksh for a car to pickup. Anyone have any problems with taxi drivers (scams / over charging, etc). This would help me decide how much to exchange at the airport or the atm there.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
