Hi Grand Pollo,
Thanks for your rapid response! :)
No, Spanish is not a problem for me, my Spanish is pretty solid. Also I have traveled all over the place incl. two trips to Honduras so I pretty much know what to expect.
Based on your great info, however it looks like I need a different choice of hotel, and also I'm kinda disappointed in Granada being an "overhyped" tourist spot. Not really suprised, just alittle disappointed. :(
Thanks though for your honest information.
Cheers.

And now I am not going back until the Spring, getting a deal for a week in Boca Chica in October. So a week at the end of this month and a week a month after that in teh DR will hold me till Xmas.
Granada is a good place for a camera. And hippies and tour buses of old farts.
Skip the pool, try Almendro. Ask for the "$45" rate, e.g. $40 +$6 tax and write off the $1 that they cannot understand makes $46 more than $45.
I am sure the Best Western is nice but that road, oy vey! You are 4 lanes into two and a flagman and a mess all around.
Tip 1:Also take note you want to be at the airport EARLY if you are not flying first class (which is a torture I cannot imagine any more) .
Tip 2:And find the door from the street/curbside to your counter if AA, as entering via the terminal makes you shove past 500 people for other airlines. Allow 2 hours easy for checkin in coach - and add 1/2 an hour for that sh*tball road.
Tip 3: Insist the doofus at the little podium before X-Ray stamps your passport and takes your tourist card - he didn't for me and now when I go back I have to hand it in and prove I left, e.g. my BP's and passport stamps to the USA. Idiots.
Tip 4: If you have ONLY carry on ( and I ONLY ever have carry on) go to the AA office near Plaza Espana and check in there the day before. Note you MUST reconfirm the flight to the USA the day before regardless of carrier. I did it in person and got a BP at the same time. Sweet. They want your passport if you do that.
Possible Tip 5: There are two guards, a young guy in the a.m. and a crusty old dude in the p.m. If you go there ask them if they know chicas. I just occured to me they probably do.

Just back from Managua ... report to follow ... had to say now though ... the place next to "llantas Kelly" is not called "Fannys" it's name is "Fenix" ... though if you say Fannys it kind of sounds like Fenix in spanish.
Grabbed a cool chica from Crr Masaya ... very nice chica ... nice massage, etc ... wanted only 200 C.
-
They all want 200C it's like it's unionized on the C. Masaya.

Thanks Grand Pollo and others. I usually spend time in San Jose. This time my buddy and I might rent a car in San Jose, and drive north to northern Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
Your description of the scene in MGO is good. What are the chances of two guys meeting local chicas? My Spanish is ok, his isn't.
Also, one of the things I like best about CR is the comraderie with other mongers in the del Rey and the Presidente. Sounds like MGO is spread out more and has less mongers.
Thanks in advance. If the plans work, we may be able to meet up with some of you. Around 1st week of Sept.
-
I don't think most rental companies will let you drive into Nicaragua. I've taken both Tica Bus and the other one (Nica Bus?), but thought Tica Bus was nicer. Pretty cheap, about $20 RT, if I recall right.
If you want to rent a car, I'd leave it in Liberia, and pick up the bus from there. It helps to have 5's and 1's at the border for stuff.
-
Thanks, Jaimito Cartero, you're right. Rental cars can't be brought across the border from CR to Nic.
Another source confirmed this, too. I think we'll stick to CR this time.

The ICAO/IATA abbreviation for Managua is MGA. FWIW, MGO is Manega, Gabon, Africa. Check your luggage tags.
The chances of non-Spanish speaking people meeting local chicas who are not P4P is about nil. Communication as with girls where you live is pretty critical and relative wealth only goes so far, and there are quite a few people you'd be attracted to that have social cirlces that would routinely exclude gringos and non-fluent ones more so.
The P4P structure is well established and cheap, so I recommend sticking to that, follow the tips and locations I left earlier.
The lack of hordes of mongers is a plus, as you will see if you go. Price-wise, for starters, and reception of occasional gringos is also better than a lot of locations where they are overpopulated.

Thanks GP,
You're right. I'm not going to MGO, I wanted to go to MGA. I visit www.flyertalk.com, a frequent flyer board (highly recommended). 3 letter airport codes get thrown around there like crazy. Guess I just assumed.
This trip we'll do CR, then maybe next time do Nicaragua.
My last trip to Nic was in 1985. Things were pretty tense then. Soldiers on the streets and on the busses going to the front. Lots of mixed loyaltyies among the people. Running water only 2 or 3 days per week. The people were living in a very difficult situation (the US being a factor in that) and they still treated us well.
Thanks all, for the help.

Hi Board,
I´m writing this from an internet cafe in Colombia because I´m considering making a change to my plans next month and need to move fast.
I´m scheduled to go to SJO for 10 days in late October but am already losing interest.
Got a great flight rate from NYC to MGA but need an equally great hotel with a pool.
Can anyone tell me if any of the following are guest friendly.
Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza
Holiday Inn Select
Best Western Las Mercedes
Any a good choice for our kind of fun? I know the Las Mercedes was flamed on this board for traffic problem...any improvement?
Answer on board or PM is fine, thanks.

My driver told me no to both Holiday Inns when we drove past them, and AFAIK Las Mercedes is OK, but a horrible location, even without the highway reconstruction - however if you have an early flight you can walk to the airport it's that close.

Ford: I have mongered in Central America for almost 20 years, and with no disrespect intended to the Nicas (all the women here are beuatiful, IMHO), I have found Managua the least accomodating for the hobby...altho Nicas do know how to party; but unless you have business there, why not try San Salvador?
Admittedly, I have spent less time in Nicaragua and CR than than in the "northern triangle" countries. We have many Nicas "invading" El Salvador - especially east of the Rio Lempa - but I still find them more difficult than the Salvadorenas who have established a "fama" throughout the region.
Once again, NO DISRESPECT INTENDED, so please don't flame me. I love ALL women.
Just a suggestion and one man's opinion.

Dear fellow Mongers,
As most of you know I am hard customer to please and I scrutinize every detail in my reports.
So far I have been to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama in Latin America and I am on my way to Colombia on the Sept. 21 for one month in Cali and then One in Medellin.
I am really not that impressed so far with Latin America. Seriously, Managua has been by far the best mongering destination of my trip so far, but really, it doesn't even compare to China or even Indonesia.
Some people may disagree with me but let me tell you what my definition of a Mongering Destination is:
A place where a man can have sex with any women he wants, whether it is free or paid for.
My Experiences to date:
China - 85% of all the women I wanted to have sex with had sex with me. (Bonus:: and 90% of them were free)
Indonesia - 75% of all the women I wanted to have sex with had sex with me. (Bonus:: and 40% of them were free)
Costa Rica - 35% of all the women I wanted to have sex with had sex with me. (Bonus:: and 10% of them were free)
Panama - 15% of all the women I wanted to have sex with had sex with me. (Bonus:: and 10% of them were free)
Managua - Hard to Say because I wasn't there very long but I got a great vibe from the chicas although I was with my Bi-Girlfriend that I picked up from the Del Rey in San Jose.
SIDENOTE: I Picked up this hot little Panamanian Honey for free out of the Del Rey and nailed her for 2 weeks free, soon I will post some pics of the different threesomes we had. The only reason I made her girlfriend was because she loves pussy more than me....she is kinda sick though, wanted us to do her virgin sister and lets just say, that, is age prohibitive...even in Panama.
Anyway back to Managua, I like Carterra Masaya, I picked up one 8 and two 7's and a spinner 6 off of that street for as little as 500 cordoba for the night including them eating my girlfriends pussy which cost me extra twice. The 8 we had was only 400 cordobas for two hours and she had a great snatch, I came three times in two hours. The other two girls were 300 for 3 hours.
Very cheap considering 100 cordoba is less than $6.50!
Also club Fenix was cool in Managua, I wan't to go back and I can't say that about Panama or Costa Rica.
Check out Managua I think you will like it with the average number of girls out on a Friday or Saturday night numbering about 100, in a quarter mile strip....Carterra Masaya.
Buen Suerte,
Master Monger

Hi Master Monger,
please try to keep in mind that most of us in this section are LATINA lovers to the core.
Latinas have the BEST AZZ in the world.....imho (I myself am an AZZ and leg lover...!!)
No ASIAN can hold the candle to this...I am sure.
I myself find LATINAS THE most beutifull women walking this earth. Mulatta's,canelitas,morena's,...and yes even some blancas. AS LONG AS THEY ARE FROM A LATINA country in south- or Middle America!!!!!!!!
Personaly I do NOT feel attracted to any asian woman. They just don't ring my bell;-)
However I must say that there are some very pretty Indian,Thai and Middle eastern girls.
But the real ASIAN types like in China,Japan or Korea.....NO SIR. And the Filipinas....O dear....I think they are very very UGLY....iekkksss.
I would not do em....even if they paid me 100 bucks for a pop..! It's just between the ears....
Es nada para mi.
But if YOU like ASIANS....Heee that's just fine with me!
To each his one.
But for me......AZZ and legsssssss;-)
BTW nice report about Nica.
regards,
Johan.
PS: I'll keep Managua in mind for a monger trip;-)

Now lets get back to some Managua facts.
Where the hell should I stay?
Thanks in advance.
