People who are unable to perform basic math (and not to name names but there are several on here. Just read more of this thread) usually feel statistics are bogus. Mostly because they don't understand them. Science largely uses statistics to analyze and evaluate events. Of course if the inputs are flawed so are the statistics. But in time more inputs are available and eventually the statistics accurately reflect reality.
Fascinating! So you think that 5 million of 8 billion was. . 000625% (which, of course, most 3 graders would tell you is not correct).
https://www.calculator.net/percent-calculator.html I'm linking a percent calculator to help you out in the future.
But the correct percentage would be: 0. 0625%.
It looks like another one doesn't understand studies or statistics. It's funny because so much of everyone's everyday life is based on statistics.
Upgrades to roads, water systems, sewage systems, the electric grid are all ruled by statistics. Which crops are planted, which seed strains, which herbicides and pesticides and when to plant, apply pesticides, herbicides and fertilizer, along with when to harvest, statistics all the way.
Whether to build a new hospital, or expand an existing one, how many ambulance and firetrucks, how many police officers, all is based on statistics. Add to that, where to build pharmacies, grocery stores, hardware stores, restaurants and clubs and without statistics the entire infrastructure is fucked.
And let's not forget that any type of insurance is 100% statistics. Without statistics civilization collapses.
Studies on the other hand. Yes you can do a study and get whatever results you want. Absolutely. Undeniably. Just like you can claim that you can knock out anyone with a single punch.
That's when the truth comes out. My favorite example because it ties in so nicely with the 79 Club (my new classification for all the idiots who argue against vaccines, 79 represents their median IQ), is Andrew Wakefield and his study which showed the existing MMR vaccine causes autism. Almost immediately after publication doctors began questioning his data and his methodology. Ironically his study was published in "The Lancet", which eventually fully retracted the study. As a result his right to practice medicine was revoked and now he's just another 79 Clubber.
As you well know, but several obviously don't, no study is complete until it passes peer review. The findings need to be duplicated, the methodology needs to be confirmed. If it can't be confirmed it gets tossed aside.
Just like the "I can kick anyone's ass" crowd. It looks good on paper until you're toe to toe with someone who has been a boxer for 30 years.
That was simple enough. Now brace for his 8 paragraph rebuttal of my 2 sentences worth of encounter.
Oh yeah, there will be that five wagers, an IQ challenge, about 10 false analogies, and a lecture on why 0.06% is different than 0.0006%.

Who gives a fuck about 0.0625 and 0.00625%? His point, which is correct, is the risk of Covid has been greatly exaggerated.
Is there any point in this point outside of you being a patronizing bragging dick which is the same with all your posts?
I guess the reason you have to pay for women is they are unimpressed by your math skills.
You are on ignore douche.

5 billion % sure
The USA and the civilized world have different definitions of billion.
Inferential statistics has type 1 and type 11 errors. Descriptive statistics are just that.
Pic 1 is a famous book (in the civilized world).
Pic 2, Dalia Dippolito, is a famous hooker (in the USA jungle), who was 500% sure she wanted a hit man to off her working girl loving hubby. Here are her prison details. Write to her. She'll be out in 2031, so less than 10 years to wait.

Excelss deaths show that 11.7 miilions may have died from COVID. So out out 7. 753 billion (using short scale), that's 0. 15%, or 1,500 deaths per million (which is the common stat expression).

Elvis School of Analysis
As for the vaccine preventing transmission, that is not only obvious from the data, the CDC has come out and said the vaccine does not prevent transmission, so again I do not know what the fuck you are talking about.
Oh dear. Let's try this in a simple way so that even Elvis can grasp the concept.
The vaccine doesn't prevent transmission. But stay with me for just a few more seconds. What does the vaccine do? It makes it a lot less likely you will get CoVid in the first place. And if you do get a breakthrough case of CoVid you are a lot less likely to have severe consequences. Stick with the first part. The vaccine makes it a whole lot less likely that you will be infected with CoVid. So take two groups. One group is vaccinated and the other group isn't. Which group will more likely get infections? See'Mon. Elvis you can get this one right. It is binary, so you are 50-50. Answer: The unvaccinated group is more likely to get infected. By extension (simple arithmetic) more members of the unvaccinated group are likely to get infected with CoVid than from the vaccinated group. Now we get to the next part. If the unvaccinated group has a lot more people infected than the vaccinated group. Isn't the unvaccinated group much more likely to pass along the virus to family members or other members they come in contact with? (For Elvis: That was a rhetorical question. The answer would be obvious to any 3rd grader.).
The number of USA cases recorded is 47 million. CDC estimates put it at around 100 million. Again, you are attributing their number to me.
I'm using the 47 million reported on Worldometer. You constantly banter that the CDC can't be trusted, can't be believed, lack competence etc etc etc but you choose to use their number when it suits your purposes. Isn't that the classic example of shopping around for a number you like for your argument. Pick a number here, pick one there, Pick one on aisle 3. C'mon. Elvis try to be consistent.

Nice Try but no Cigar
This is laughable, around 30% of the population in Sweden are immigrants or children of immigrants while in Finland it's closer to 5%. Good luck finding any Swede to agree with you that Sweden is "genetically homogenous".
Well, I'll give you props for doing your homework. You're still wrong, mind you but you did show some modest intelligence by trying to do your research. Here is the problem in what you came up with:
Yes, Sweden does have about 30% of its population having come from other countries but of that 30% (something close to 10% (1/3 of the 30% came from Norway, Denmark and Finland. And then some more came from Germany too. The largest historical group of immigrants are from Finland. In other words your 30% is greatly exaggerated. AND a number of the immigrants that did come to Sweden over the years, intermarried and assimilated which means that although you may have Swedes with one immigrant parent they still possess genetic characteristic of the general Swedish population.

New Swedes
First off, Norway and Finland were formerly parts of Sweden. The great Finnish patriot, Carl GUSTAF Mannerheim, spoke Swedish as he was of Swedish nobility. The Finns did mot of the heavy fighting for King Karl Gustaf the Great of Sweden.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_to_Sweden
Wikipedia tells us the great increases in Swedish population and in Swedish crime are from Africa and similar toilets. Muslims who cam, e to Sweden decades ago came to work. Now they come to scrounge on Sweden's great security system and to commit crime. These people do not assimilate in Sweden, Germany, France or anywhere else. In Germany, for example, they support the Turkish not the German football team. Parts of the Netherlands and Belgium are ISIS safe havens.
The future is the medieval city state or the mad Max type we associate with the toilet of the USA and Latin America. Wealth, gated communities and savages beyond them.
Though Europe is the heart of the civilised world and Germany is the pinnacle of engineering, the fact is for every one German engineer Germany can throw at a problem, China can throw 100 or 1000 if need be. The US model of simply stealing superior German grey matter is likewise running out of track.
I am unsure what this stupid shit is about. By all means, be stupid. But do not be that stupid.
