PRI Is Taking Control Again
I don't know much of the political parties in Mexico. But in my 10 plus years of experience in Mexicali I have noticed that when the PAN is in control of the city that the cops are pretty cool. And when the PRI is in charge of Mexicali the cops are assholes. Right now the PRI is in charge.
I have had similar experiences in Tijuana. A couple of years ago when the PAN was in charge the cops werent too bad. Now the PRI is in charge and once again they are assholes.
Unfortunately, it looks like the PAN is going to lose the elections in July for the Mexican Presidency. Right now the PRI candidate, Enrique Peņa Nieto, is leading in all the polls there. It looks like the entire country is going to be run again by the pre Vicente Fox thugs. That could make Mexico very dangerous for Americans again.
Thanks For Directions Joe

Take any of the main drags south to Lazero Cardenas. Go East on Lazaro Cardenas. Make a U turn when you get to the Coca Cola plant that will be on the Northwest corner at Caranza Street. Now you are going West on Lazaro Cardenas. El Establo will be on your right in about a half of a block. It is next to an A frame motel.
I certainly appreciate it. I'm planning a road trip next Saturday (7th) even though it is Semana Santos (holy week) in Mexico. I've seen the Coca Cola plant in the base.
I Won't Be Able To Do I This Weekend But I Am Shooting For The 13. 14th
I am not going to be able to do this weekend but I would like to shoot for the 13th spending the night there leaving the 14th. I live in Tempe, Arizona (suburban Phoenix) as you can probably tell from my name. LOL. I would leave late on the 13th because from what I have read you do not want to get to El Estable before midnight or it is not that great. Gasoline is getting very expensive so I would not mind having some people to split the cost of gas. I drive a very fuel efficient compact sized car so I could get there and back in the least amount of gas possible. If you live in the Phoenix area or somewhere in between and you are interested let me know. Since I drive a fairly newer, flashy, sporty looking car that is financed so I can not risk having something happen to it I usually park at the AA parking and walk in because my car would have the word "gringo" written all over it and I do not like the added expense of buying mexican auto insurance that is questionable if it is worth anything anyway (not a Mexican thing, I would not drive it in the United States in certain areas and uninsured either). I guess someday I need to buy an old clunker "mongermoblie". ROFL. I also want to go to El Establo this time wearing a collared shift and dress pants. LOL (If you read my earlier posts you will find out why). If someone wants to split cab fare to and from that would be great. I might venture out to Bar San Diego again too. I am thinking about spending the night at the motel attached to the El Establo if the rate is decent. I have read on this forum if you wait till 3 A. M. You can go with the girls to the courtyard area and sometimes get one to spend the rest of the night with you for a fairly decent price. I guess you have to buy a six pack of beer to do this though and I do not drink so if someone wants to drink the beer I buy to do this more power to you, otherwise the beer will literally just sit there undranken (maybe the girls will drink it. LOL). I wonder if they will allow me to substitute a six pack of bottled water? Message me if interested.
I am planning on going to Mexicali this Saturday, Apr 7 for an over-nighter. I realize it is Holy Week but the girls still need to eat and feed their kids! I live in the Yuma Foothills just off I-8 Freeway. If any wingmen out there are interested in going shoot me a reply on ISG. I want to experience El Establo!
Thanks.
Hotel. Near to El Establo?
Does anyone know of a hotel near to El Establo which is cheap, clean and secure for a vehicle? I usually stay in the zona and walk to the triangle or taxi around the city to different locations.
Hotels Close to El Establo

I usually stay in the zona and walk to the triangle or taxi around the city to different locations.
When I want to do a lot of action at El Establo, I stay at Hotel Casa Blanca, which is about a half a block West of El Establo on Lazaro Cardenas on the same side of the street as El Establo. Last time I was there, the better rooms were 490 pesos per night. It is clean and has guarded secure parking. Also there is Wireless Internet for free. You can safely walk to and from El Establo so you don't have to worry about paying mordida to a Mexicali cop for driving under the influence.
