Camaro's view of Boca Chica & Calle Duarte July 2015
Camaro's view of Boca Chica & Calle Duarte July 2015.
I spent the 4th of July weekend with friends in Boca Chica, therefore I will share some of the current happenings in Boca Chica specifically the area of Calle Duarte. I was only in town for 2 days therefore I did not take an exhaustive look at Boca Chica because there was insufficient time.
The below listed notes are submitted for your review.
Hotel Garant & Suites 9 Sanchez Boca Chica.
Hotel Garant is in a good location because you can walk to Parque Central, Calle Duarte and Playa Boca Chica within 5 minutes. The hotel has a downstairs balcony that is used as a dining room area that faces the street so you can watch the foot traffic going to the strip. During the course of the day different groups of chicas will hang out in the balcony area waiting for clients who are staying in the hotel much like New Garden chicas.
The reception area has a pool table and desk top computer that is available for guest. Most of the rooms have air-conditioning, they have basic furnishings with queen size beds. I had a room with air conditioning that was not super cold but it left the room very comfortable during the heat of the summer.
I didn't use the pool, WIFI, TV or room safe but they all were available. The hotel was guest friendly with chicas being required to leave their cedula at the front desk. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would gladly stay again if I were return to Boca Chica.
Playa Boca Chica.
Playa Boca Chica is the focal point of the area and on Sundays many locals use the beach for recreation. The beach is full of touts selling their wares and can be very annoying. There are plenty of women that use the beach but tenga mucho cuidado because some are civilians that are not in play as well as others are not of age. There are a plethora of restaurants available for you to eat your favorite seafood.
Calle Duarte.
Calle Duarte is the primary street in Boca Chica where you can find most of the action both day and night. The street is closed after 8 pm to vehicular traffic and the different restaurants and night clubs put their tables and chairs out on the street. There are plenty of casas de cambio and a Banco Popular ATM that is available for those who need them.
There are a plethora of restaurants that offer everything from Italian to comida tipica. Below I have listed some of the venues on Calle Duarte but there are too many to make an exhaustive list.
Parque Central.
Parque Central is on the west end of Calle Duarte next to Policia Nacional Headquarters for Boca Chica. It is a small park with greenery and park benches. It is frequented by locals laughing joking and playing dominoes along with working girls sprinkled in. Once again tenga mucho cuidado because some of the chicas are civilians who are not in play and are there with their family and friends.
Colmado El Maestro.
Colmado El Maestro is a convenient store that has a few chairs out in front where you can buy your favorite beverage and sit and watch the chica traffic. It is a gathering place for some street chicas later in the afternoon and evening.
Piano Bar.
The Piano Bar is one of the primary venues on Calle Duarte. The venue has 3 basic parts they place chairs on the street and have waitresses outside to serve you. There is an open air section next to the bar with seating and the inside of the club. The Piano Bar is the primary early evening pick up spot for Calle Duarte before El Batey gets cranking after midnight. The waitresses are available for a 1000 pesos salida and whatever you negotiate with the individual chica.
Bar Latino Club Bachata.
Bar Latino had one of the waitresses sitting outside soliciting pedestrian traffic to come inside. The inside of the venue is very nice inside with couches chairs a bar and an area for dancing and a stripper pole. The waitresses will dance clothed for tips and are available to go out with patrons however the deal is strictly between the chic and the client there is no salida.
El Batey.
El Batey is the primary Calle Duarte venue after midnight. The traffic varies depending on the day of the week with the major crowd gathering after 2 am. Security checks you down stairs and you walk up stairs to several seating areas. There is a dance floor, section that faces inside the club, section that faces Calle Duarte and you can watch the foot traffic and a back balcony that has an open air feel. Again you want to tenga mucho cuidado while most of the women are in play there are clearly some civilians who are with their novios family and friends.
The above just covers some of the main Calle Duarte venues.
Sosua vs Boca Chica and Pricing.
There are several differences between Sosua and Boca Chica one being the pricing. It is very easy to get chicas in Boca Chica for 1000-1500 pesos ST & 2000 pesos TLN. Where as in Sosua 2000 pesos is the new 1500 pesos and it is not uncommon for people to pay 3000 pesos for ST. Another primary difference is the presence of Haitianas vs Dominicanas along with the quality level. High end very attractive chicas travel to Sosua more frequently than Boca Chica because it is understood they can easily earn more money.
The talent level leaves much to be desires and if you can find a 7 you are doing well. It appeared to me that the more attractive chicas were with boyfriends or family and friends.
Las Haitianas de Boca Chica.
I anecdotally found the Haitians to be more distant and less friendly than Sosua Haitianas who are more approachable and humble. I approached a very attractive Haitiana who looked like she fell out of a magazine and after greeting her she looked at me like I was stupid. I was later told that she was the "Queen Bee Haitiana" and she commands no less than 3000 pesos. It is reported Afro Americans are rejected by some Boca Chica Haitianas because they have been spoiled by Europeans who sometimes spend more money on them.
Conclusion.
Since my stay was only for 2 days I did not get a chance to check the casa de citas and other venues that the town has to offer. This is low season and there were neither many tourist nor chicas available during my stay. In found the chicas in general to be more detached and less friendly than Sosua. Both Boca Chica and Sosua are "Hoe Towns" but Sosua is my "Hoe Town" because I am more familiar with it and feel very comfortable there but as in everything YMMV.
Camaro en Boca Chica otra vez.
Boca Chica otra vez.
I have previously stated I felt like Boca Chica was the armpit of the Dominican Republic but perhaps I have been too harsh. Since I depart and arrive in Santo Domingo because it is less expensive than arriving in Puerto Plata I might make Boca Chica a regular pit stop.
I can be a bit judgmental at times if I have a first bad impression. I realize sometimes you have to return to a person place or thing to see it with a different set of eyes so I returned to Boca Chica and I am glad I did. Below I listed my notes for your review.
El Batey- Calle Duarte.
I like El Batey because of its location on Calle Duarte and it is a mix between civilians and working girls which adds a different flavor for me and forces me to step up my game because you have to be careful not to make the wrong approach. El Batey is no doubt one of the premier night spots for Boca Chica.
I like that you can sit inside or outside depending on your preference. In addition this is not only a place to hunt but a place you can take dates if you so desire.
Maximo Playa- Playa Boca Chica.
Maximo Playa is a restaurant-bar-club that literally sits on the beach at the far west end of Playa Boca Chica. It is an open air venue and the restaurant includes comida tipica and different seafood dishes. Since it is on the beach there is a jet ski dock where you can see jet skis and boats pulling up to the restaurant.
They play Latin music and people can be seen dancing in the isles. When I was there I saw mostly couples and and families but I am told in the evenings there are some beautiful women who come out. It was a pleasant diversion from Calle Duarte.
Playboy Club (Green Bar) Calle Jose Pena Gomez.
I went for a stroll on Calle Jose Pena Gomez north from Calle Duarte and found the Playboy Club. The Playboy Club is a casa de cita, where the girls sit outside watching the traffic go by. I went inside and the girls followed. There was a bar where the Mamasan also served as the bartender. I sat at the bar and the girls did their booty dance trying to get my attention on the dance floor in front of the bar.
There are rooms in house and the Mamasan told me it is 2500ST, 4000 for 2 hours and 5000 TLN. I didn't negotiate but I got the feeling she would be flexible. There were 4 girls 1 was an 8 and my opinion flaca with a canela complexion and the others ranged between 6-7. The Mamasan advised there are more chicas available.
Casa Iraisa Calle Juan Batista.
Casa Iraisa is behind a steel sliding gate and when you walk in you enter a pool area. After arriving they ring the bell and about 12 chicas present themselves. Let me say this is no Crystals-Puerto Plata or Passions-Santiago if there was 1 "7" in the group they would have been doing well. The chicas were not high pressure like Crystals they were laid back.
The pool looked to be an ornament because it appeared to be unused. There was also a restaurant on site but no menu. REALLY?. Go figure! The prices quoted were 2500ST 4000 for 2 hours and 5500 TLN. Yayow advised el hefe came down to 1500ST.
There are rooms in house or you can take the chica out. Talent rotates so what is poor today might be better tomorrow.
Latin Quartest Discotque.
The Latin Quartest Discotque is next to Casa Iraisa but not affiliated. The back door to the disco leads to the Casa Iraisa pool and restaurant. Apparently the chicas from Casa Iraisa are not permitted in the disco. Although we did not go inside it was early and the disco did not appear to have many patrons.
Paco's Drink-LOS Coquitos, Boca Chica.
Paco's Drink reminded me of the Dominican night clubs I visited in Esperanza, Mao, Bonao & Jarabacoa. It had a very Dominican feel and was nothing like Classicos or El Batey. Although I cannot be sure I didn't get the impression anybody was working because I did not receive any "puta stares. " The music was Merengue, Bachata and Reggeton and although there was no dance floor people were dancing in-between their tables and chairs.
I met an absolutely sexy chica but when I hit her with my Spanish she looked at me and advised me she was from New York and she spoke English. Can you say "BOOM!" Anyways she was on vacation visiting her sister and as leaving the following day.
The spot had quite a few men and couples but there appeared to be very few single ladies when I was there. I enjoyed this spot because it was very "Dominican" by that I mean everybody was tranquilo drinking, smoking hookah, dancing and just over all having a good time. This will probably be the highlight of my Boca Chica stay because it was good to get off Calle Duarte and experience some normalcy just like it is good to get off Pedro Clisante in Sosua.
Avenida 20 de Diciembre.
Avenida 20 de Diciembre is around the corner from Duarte and not a far walk from El Batey. This is the street that the all-inclusive resort Be Live Hamaca is on. The below listed venues are on this street also.
KOTICE Night Club.
This is primarily a Dominican spot with an in-door and outside section. The outside section has a bar with tables and chairs that face the street and they also have a restaurant. When I went is was very slow with maybe a half dozen couples.
BC.
This is the night club for Be Live Hamaca and it is very large inside. There are 2 dancefloors and 2 bars. There are also tables and chairs along with couches. When I went is was almost empty.
Conclusion.
Boca Chica is more than Calle Duarte there are other venues off Duarte that can provide potential, in addition just like there is more to Sosua than Pedro Clisante there is more to Boca Chica than Calle Duarte. If you speak Spanish and have a sense of adventure there are a host of colmados and smaller clubs were you can find action if you are not timid.
Swingers in Search of Couples
My significant other and I are in search of sane, drug-free, couples (extranjero & dominicana) in the Santo Domingo / Boca Chica area for full-swap sex. We already have another couple and are looking to add 2-3 more couples to the mix.
Cheers,
Helpmann
Camaro's report on Boca Chica
Well up to your usual high standards, Camaro. Most helpful report I have ever read on BC.
Have you ever considered collecting and editing your reports from all boards and self-publishing as a booklet on Amazon? You only print off a small batch of copies at a time, so you could constantly add and update stuff.
Best to edit out any info that could identify you. We don't want another Cuba Dave situation.
I would be happy to proof-read for you (changing "isles" to "aisles" for example). Only danger there is that I might accidentally insert some "real" English for American English.
I can be a bit judgmental at times if I have a first bad impression.
Less so than most. I usually admire your impartial and fact-based assessments.
Having said that, you were a bit harsh on Rancho Tipico in Sosua. Ad is a bully and a racist but the locale provided a service that nowhere else did. And if we all boycotted places where the owners are bullies or racists, 90% of our favorite spots in the DR would be empty.
