My comments regarding my first trip to Boca Chica (or the Dominican for that matter).............................Would go again, but at a different time of year.
Very nice report! Nice to see a little activity in the Boca Chica thread.
Your experience of Boca Chica is pretty much the same all year round. I have been going to BC for three years and have been there in every month of the year. Boca Chica really does not change from high season to low season. I enjoy BC because I bounce back and forth between Santo Domingo and Boca Chica. On a seven night trip I will spend four nights is SD and three nights in BC. A solid week of BC is a bit too much. Even when I have a hotel room in BC I may drive to SD for the day and vice versa.
My hotel choice in BC is Costa Lunga at $40 a night and no chica fee whatsoever. Hotel Candil is another option but the rates are a little higher.
If you plan on coming back to the Dominican Republic you might want to consider a few days in Sosua. There is a drastic change in numbers and quality of chicas! One other thing to consider is flying into POP to spend a few days in Sosua. Take the bus to Santo Domingo/Boca Chica and depart from SDQ airport. Most airlines will allow you to do this without any extra charge.
Thanks again for the report..........

Your welcome.
What is your modus operandi in Santa Domingo, i.e., hotel, night spots, etc.

Check out the Santo Domingo thread.
Mixing BC with SD makes a much more enjoyable trip. I always have a rental car but it is fairly easy to get back and forth using a guagua. Find a chica in BC and take her to SD for the day. She can show you how to get around using the guaguas.
Boca Chica is nice because of the beach but Santo Domingo is like being in the real world, a nice combination.
Boca Chica was a little more active before the change in the drinking hours. Several years ago you could go to Calle Duarte at three or four in the morning and find chicas. Things have changed. Sosua is and probably will always be the number one spot for chica chasing. If you enjoy spending part of your day doing things other than chica chasing than SD/BC is the place to be. I don't go to Sosua anymore because there really isn't much to do during down time.

Do you recommend staying in SD and going to BC for the day and weekends or staying in BC coming to SD via guagua?
If I was stying in BC could I get back and forth to SD at night even at 3/4am?
I have the same issues with sosua as you have. I am not a big drinker so sitting at a bar all day is very boring to me.
I am interested in SD/BC but prices and transport have kept me away.
There is no way I would rent a car in the DR!

It is really hard to say whether it is better to get a hotel in SD or BC. That would really depend on where you would prefer to spend the late evening hours. I would not worry about getting back and forth at 3/4 am with the bars closing early. You definetly would have a better chance of getting transpo from SD to BC at that hour but I am not sure if you would want to travel the Autopista Durate late, late, late at night. I have seen the entire highway from SD to BC without any street lights working.
Two nights on Calle Durate in BC and you have seen 90% of the available chicas. If you plan to go for four nights or more spend a couple of nights in SD and a couple of nights in BC. It is only a thirty minute, $30 USD or so taxi ride between the two.
There is plenty to do in SD during your daytime downtime. El Conde is a traffic free street, actual shopping malls to visit, museums, Colonial Zone, etc. At night in SD you have a couple of grand Hotel/Casino with entertainment in the bar/lounge. I am not a gambler but I always "waste" about $20 in the slots. Keep in mind the entire time you are doing these things chicas are coming and going and you can be sure at least one will give you that smile of availability.
I am by no means knocking Boca Chica as I love BC for what it is. Boca Chica by itself is just not enough to make for a pleasant trip. I will say again, if chasing chicas is all you want to do than go to Sosua. If you want to see a little more of the DR than by all means do a SD/BC trip.
For all you baseball fans the Baseball Winter Season starts October 15 (I will be there) and ends mid January. A DR baseball game is nothing like a baseball game in the states. Go to a weekend game and you will have the time of your life. Find a chica in the daytime to invite to the game with you. Most chicas would jump for this opportunity.
I also agree with you.........sitting at a bar drinking all day in Sosua is boring, boring, boring...........and I like my Presidentes and Cuba Libres. LOL

Thank you for your response. Eventually I just need to break down and give it a shot. Maybe a short trip of 10 days. I would like to stay longer in the DR but I think I would go nuts.

Depending on how long it takes you to get to the DR but a week is good. Four nights in SD and three nights in BC. Several years ago when I first started going to the DR the only place I knew was Sosua. I made a big mistake and booked 17 days in Sosua. After a week I could not wait to get out of So-Sewer. I swore I would never come back to the DR. Now I know my way around a bit and bounce all over the country so I can easily spend two, three weeks and not get tired.

The last two nights I was there the Piano Bar had just gotten a license to stay open until 3am on Thurs, Fri, & Saturday.
Prior to that, at 1am the front of the two disco's turned into an open air meat market. If you weren't actually holding something in your arms the chica's would swarm you. Then, many of the same girls would head for the after hours club called "Mozart."

Days of the week
I will be in SD at the end of January for about 3-4 nights beginning on a Monday.
How is BC doing the weekdays. Is it worth the trip?
Thanks
..............How is BC doing the weekdays. Is it worth the trip?..........
I don't think so unless you just want to go hang out at the beach. You can find a chica in SD to go to the beach with you in BC. She will know how to catch a guagua to BC for less than $10 USD round trip.
If you go solo it will be between $50-60 USD for a cab round trip, plus the cost of a short stay hotel room, and the chica fee.

Thanks
Depends what you want to do in Boca Chica or how you want to spend your day. I stayed in Santo Domingo and went to Boca Chica during the day for the beach (weekdays). The hotel I used did not have a pool and I like to swim, so Boca Chica was the option for swimming. I walked around Santo Domingo, zona colonial during the day, but it is hot.
There are some working girls who walk along the beach in Boca Chica. There is at least one nasty, short time room that is available on calle duarte, on the second floor of some building in Boca Chica, that you can rent for sex. I used it a long time ago, one time for sex. It was cheap, dirty and small. There are massage houses for sex in Boca Chica as well, they are open 24/7. The girls in Santo Domingo are better, but Boca Chica is good for the beach and if you want sex there during the weekdays, it can be had.

GuaGua BC
If you just want to check it out, just have a cab take you to the station with gua guas for BC. It's near parque enriquillo. Cab 200 pesos from Central SD to the station, gua gua was 50 pesos (each way) last year. On the return trip you catch a gua gua from the BC parque central to the bus station on the main highway (free) and ask for the express bus to SD. You pay the cobrador when he comes collecting once the bus is underway. It takes a bit over an hour each way and buses leave when they a full all day long.
There are always some interesting chicas in the shops or about but it's not all that obvious. If you like to people watch find a bench in the shade in the parque central where you get off the bus.
