Where would you rent a 4-wheeler? What about insurance? Any tips so when I return the 4-wheeler I don't have hidden charges. I know BC pretty good so no problem getting lost. What about taking a ride to Playa Andres?
Where do you catch the guagua in Santo Domingo for Boca Chica?
You can rent the 4 wheeler in front of Coral Hamaca, the 4 wheelers are not property of the hotel , it is from a private company. You have to leave an id until return of the wheeler.
The bus station to BC is like half hour walk from el Conde, it is better to take a taxi, back from BC they will leave you a block or two from el Conde.

Thanks..........
With the rental of the 4 wheeler is insurance provided? I have seen a few people zipping around town with the rentals, just never knew where they got them from.
What ID do you need to leave. I never give up my passport. If I leave a Drivers License won't I need that to drive the 4 wheeler? I would like to rent one on a Sunday and take a ride to Playa Andres to get away from the beach tourist scene. Ought to be some easy pickings with a 4-wheeler!
Do they charge by the day or hour?
Anyone in BC 1/24-1/29?
Actually a "tour" of the DR sounds like a lot of fun. There are all sorts of maps in the airport or at souvenir shops wherever you land. A map of the island is a good thing to have to figure out an itinerary. The capital, Santo Domingo, is a noisy busy place. A good area to stay, that I've had success with, is on the Conde (a walking street with some SW action). A hotel you may want to investigate is The Mercure. The board here has a lot of other options if you want to investigate for both hotel and locations. You will find willing girls easily by asking a taxi driver to take you to a "casa de cite", which are like brothels. You'll find a bunch of girls standing around waiting for you to show them some interest. When you see one you like, you pay the house manager and take them home.
In Sosua there are all sorts of bars, mostly outdoor, that line the main drag, Pedro Clisante. It's a small, no traffic, easy to navigate street in the "centro" of town. The bars are special here because they don't serve "ladies drinks" (overpriced drinks) and there is no "bar fine" to take the girl out. It's just open season between you and your choice of who you want to take home. That's what makes Sosua special for me. There are also a few massage places that have rooms in back and where you can negotiate for "extra$".
And like you said, "It would be a shame not to pass through BC". I surely don't know "everything" but I do know that for me, with my limited time, I'll skip BC on my own future visits. You may go yourself and have a great time. There are sexy girls there. You might connect with one of them for a fun time.
Good luck with your travels.

20$ Flat rate. No id needed. No license needed. Its smewhat of a guided tour through cane fields , cemetery, beach etc. Lots of fun but be careful. Someone ALWAYS falls of or lets the 4x4 flip. Definitely a good way to see the rest of BC.

Thanks for the info Curry. I thought it was a place to rent and just zip around town on your own. I did a ATV tour on the North Coast like that and it was a lot of fun. I got back to the hotel full of mud but had a blast. Does the ATV hold one or two people just in case I want to bring some company along. $20? That is pretty cheap. How long a ride for the $20 bucks.

James, come over here and sit on grandpa's knee...
Yes, Calle Pedro Clisante is the name of the main drag in Sosua. Easy to find. There is no other main drag in that part (the tourista part) of town.
"Ladies drinks" are the term for the overpriced beers and drinks that are usually served in "girlie bars", the places where they employ girls to sit around and flirt with the male patrons. If you choose to sit with one of the girls, the waiter will swoop over and take your order. The beer for you is like 2.00 USD, for example, while the same beer for the girl is like 6 USD or more. The girl gets a paper slip for her drink from the waiter, which she cashes in at the end of her shift with the establishment for like 1-2 USD. This is the way both she and the "girly bar" make more money from you (i.e. "hustle you"), than if you just bought the girl a drink at the going rate, like you would in a normal, non "girly" bar situation.
A "bar fine" is when you want to take the girl out of the "girly bar" to have sex in your room or at a nearby hotel/shithole. Some girls can't go, instead the establishment demands they hustle drinks all night. However, there are often "girly bars" that encourage "take-out" of their girls....and they charge a fee for the opportunity---a "bar fine"---in order you to do so. The amount can vary depending where you are. In Tijuana, the "bar fine", payable to the bartender/manager is about $10 USD and the girl gets maybe $40-50 USD for herself. In Asia, I believe it works the same way.
However, in Sosua, in the discos/bars that are found on Pedro Clisante, where
the girls are hanging out at the bar and sitting around waiting for guys to express some interest, the establishment DOES NOT overcharge for drinks if you choose to buy one for one of the girls. There is one price for everybody. Hence, no "ladies drinks". Also, if you can negotiate a price to have sex with the girl outside the bar, you just walk out with her. There is no "bar fine". The establishment does not charge any money for "take-out" pussy. That's what I meant when I said there are no "bar fines". HOWEVER, one time in Sosua, I got to know a female bartender (she worked on the other side of the bar) and wanted to take her off on a 2 day road trip outside of Sosua. She said she'd love to go, but she had to work. I spoke with the "owner" of the bar and he agreed that if I gave him 600 pesos ($20 USD) I could have her for 2 days and he'd do without her. I paid him the 600 upfront and then, another 3000 directly to the girl after the trip. That may be a version of a "bar fine", but it's the only time I've had to pay the establishment to take out a girl in Sosua. This is a strong positive mark for Sousua.
Have a good time on your tour. And I do hope you report back with some details of your adventure. Life is a two-way street after all.

Very Late Report...Sorry
Well, in 2005 my son and I took the big trip to D. R. Some of the long time members may remember I asked for advice being that my son is special needs. Thanks for the advice recieved, it came in handy. When we arrived at B. C. It was interesting to say the least. Stayed at the El Candil. Later we stayed at the Hotel Garant in B. C. It was good. Got a Dear John letter e-mail so that made things a little more open. 2 hours after e-mail was having a good time with a big busted woman in the room. 1, 500 pesos for several pops. She renegaged, said it was only 1 time. Thats the part I did not enjoy. The trying to rip off. The next time I wrote it down. (Thanks to the advice) Really enjoyed looking at all the eye candy. Has B. C. Really changed all that much? We hit several places during our month long stay. On the South Coast: Bayahibe, Santo Domingo, San Christobol, Higuey, Punta Cana. Stayed in Santigio 2 nites. Went to Sousa, P. P Places that I had FUN in Santigio, B. C. Santa Domingio, Sousa. Avg price 1, 100 to 1500 for S. T. Limitations were imposed due to my company. The most erotic was in Santa Domingo. Went walking at nite past the end of the Tourista Zone around the big monument area. (Stupid over confidence) Meet up with a SW and had her blow me with a condom on for 10. 00 US in a broken down building. That did not last long. Met some reallly nice people. All in all a great exp. Now we are going back. Yahoo! Taking my girlfriend and 2 teenagers. Is B. C. The place for a little 3 some. Since it is near the Capitol. Or would you guys say wait and do it in Sousa or P. P. She wants to have fun as well. Wow, I am getting excited just thinking about it! What do you think I should pay given the escalation in prices for a threesome? I wonder if the massage ladies will do a private 3-some massage in the hotel? Again sorry for the lateness of the report and I am very sorry for the no pictures. I started to Video tape once in B. C. And of course when I got home the ex-girlfriend went through them (we made up) and that was not pleasant. BTW met some fellow mongers from the east coast and had a good time with them. They joked with my son and threw coins into the pool. We told my son they must have come from the airplane's. He got a kick out of it. Nice guys. Thanks again for all the advice.

Any suggestions on how to pick out the best one? I thought about taking her to the disco on duarte st. And see if that worked out.come on guys, this is a dream come true. I do not want this fucked up. How much should I pay? She wants Daddy to make the choice. So what I figger is that Daddy with a lot of unknown help from his friends. You know that I will pay you back. I will involve you by proxy I want it to be a really good exp. For her. I know that it will be a really good exp. For me. If you have a girl that is good for a three-some please let me know. Wow, it is getting closer!

What hotel are you staying at because some hotels do not allow you to have two chicas in the room.

two Chicas
I think that we will be staying at the El-Candil. There would only be one Chica and us. I should have been clearer on the preceding post. I must admit that after doing some reading, B. C. Has probably changed since I was there a few years ago. I hope that it is not too bad.

The policy at El Candil is two persons per room/one bedroom apartment. You and your GF would be the limit unless you rent a two bedroom apartment.
If you come in late at nite, after the office is closed, you will have no problem with getting a third person in if you tip the nice guard. The guard is a really nice guy but El Candil seems to be running a tighter ship lately. There were a lot more "couples" at El Candil my last visit. I hope no one from El Candil reads this board since you have spilled the beans on the guard. Myself, I have never seen him accept any tips to break the house policy.
FYI, some things are better discussed using a PM.

Threesome Hotel
At the Costalunga across the street I've never had any problem at all bringing in more than one chica at a time with cedulas or a chica in addition to the one staying with me. It's otherwise very comparable to Candil. They have kitchenette studios or 1 BR
