I don't think that there is much action around the old airport, probably best to find a reasonably priced hotel around Sukhumvit Road.

I think that the Wotif deal which you refer to is probably Adelphi Suites, if you look at the Adelphi suites Wotif info it is very similar to the Mystery 4*.
