When I was in Tamarindo a couple of years ago, there was nothing in terms of locals. Plenty of European and some North American tourists around, though I didn't see any single women that got me...

It's been a couple of years since I was there, but I found no action whatsoever in Tamarindo (unless you want to try to score with some of the European or American travelers you might find there).
