I've been to La Fogata several times. One does not go there for the food, one goes for the ambiance. The piano bar is nice, and AFAIK they still have a trio on certain days who sing all the old "Trio...

On Revu, let's see, Hotel Ticuan's chips and salsa are pretty good.

I haven't seen any Tijuana restaurants that had a smoking section. Have you seen any that many belong to that group?
-
Not only was the law not repealed, it's gathering strength. I was just in Mexico City and the pedestrian-only streets near the Zocalo have big signs saying the entire area is smoke-free. We're...

There is a HUGE difference between a "good dinner spot" and a good taco stand.
For a really good dinner, try KOOL, or Savage, or Oryx Capital. You can't go wrong with any of those.
-
I've eaten there several times. The food is outstanding. They specialize in a bunch of different kinds of ceviche. They are almost always packed, and usually have lines at the front of the stand and...

I think you mean Season 8, Episode 7. Episode 8 is Penang (an outstanding foodie destination if ever there was one).
The episode is actually quite dated. Mision 19 is still going but many places...

El Grill brings out samples of the steaks, which is nice. For larger steaks they'll cut them in half and cook the halves separately. Because my Mexican GFs like their steak just on the rare side of...
-
Oryx has a very creative menu. You can actually have a pretty decent meal from just appetizers. Their roast cauliflower is excellent and their mac and cheese is the bomb. The borrego is quite good...

More fine dining, in no particular order:
Mision 19.
Savage.
Merlina.
Deckman's (Valle de Guadalupe).

You must not get out much. There are maybe 100 places in Tijuana to eat that are light years better than the nicest food court.
-
There's a big difference between adding spice by eating a whole chili, which I often do at taco stands that serve the roasted jalapenos, and ordering a dish that is inherently extremely spicy. Dishes...
-
You're barking up the wrong tree. Food in Tijuana isn't all that spicy, compared to places like NE Thailand. Overall spiciness tends to be more regional in Mexico. For instance, in Cabo, I. E. The...

Then the Ticuan restaurant, not their crummy free buffet, will fit the bill nicely. No hash browns, but their potatoes are the bomb. Their eggs are good and their omelets excellent, as are the eggs...
-
First, it would help if you can define your idea of a good breakfast.
If it's an omelet or eggs Benedict, it's hard to beat Ticuan's restaurant. If it's coffee and a Danish, I can think of several...

Mexican breakfasts and American breakfasts don't seem to vary much, save for tortillas instead of bread. So, I assume you mean eggs, a pork product, and bread. Ticuan has a good breakfast menu, their...

Most "average" places are really heavy on the rolls, and most of them are crammed with "Filadelfia. " The Mexicans love their cream cheese. IMO a little goes a very long way when it's put into sushi.
-
Animalon is pretty new. Caccio maybe within the last 3 or 4 years. The remainder have been around for years and years.
-
Best overall in town. Mision 19. Honorable mention. Lorenza.
Best seafood. You'll get an argument but for my money it's Lionfish. Erizo Market is also very good.
Best overall experience....

My GF got food poisoning at Postal Otay a few years ago. Her throat got numb, she couldn't swallow, had to rush off to the emergency room. Por eso, we avoid Postal like the plague.

There's a difference between your title - "Best Sushi" and your question - "where is really good sushi?
The "best" might be at Wasabi, on Sanchez Taboada. But best sushi in Tijuana is like being...
-
Much like CA, you have to have a license to sell alcohol in Tijuana. Not all restaurants, especially the little ones, have a license. They may cost a couple thousand dollars, which isn't chicken feed...
-
Oh, Dublin's is still open? Haven't been there for ages. I'm glad they survived Covid.
-
Some people bag on this place, but I've always thought the food was pretty decent for its price point. The universal gripe, from gringos, is the ear splitting volume of the freaking band.
Last...

How the hell did you two get through 15 pounds of meat? Do you both look like Fred Flintstone? LOL.
