I've stayed at the Thong Ta. It's good value, but it's a bit hard to find. Plus there's no elevator in their new building.

Dream Hotel is very GF. It has free internet which is a plus, and it is a nice friendly place with a bit of cachet. The location isn't perfect as its about 200 meters from Sukhumvit as Mick suggests....
