Depends. In some hotel 1 guest if fine as you can say it's your girlfriend, but often they make clear that only 1 extra person can registered in the room for the whole stay.

Good tip, and makes sense for a short stay or 1 guess visit. But what about stating 7-10 days and wanting to bring a different lady to the room every night?
