I have been in and out of Pakistan. Most of the action is in Karachi and in Lahore but now Islamabad is not too far behind. Street walking is still not too common; however the action in Islamabad can be classified as:

Was in Islamabad last week. Was put up at Serena Hotel. Highly recommended but the price is pretty high, published rate is USD300 but I got a corporate rate at USD180. But you will enjoy your stay there. It is a hotel with the traditional Pakistan decoration with all the modern facilities. Wifi is free which is a plus point for me as I need to check my emails everyday.

Aside from the nice Serena Hotel, Islamabad is a pretty dead place for a monger.
