By no means do I classify myself as a SD. Sure, I'll pay for a meal, a hotel or a trip to an island for a week. But I know once I go back home for work, some poor guy will fall in love with them and they'll empty their wallets and bank accounts (I see the guys gushing over them on their Facebook accounts).
And I'd never blame an older guy 'falling for a hot little chick.' But the reality check doesn't come into it for a lot of older guys when they're exposed to a fresh little vagina that they haven't been near for years. Or those that have been to the Philippines later in life without doing a bit of research first.
As for the girls, it's basic economics. There's a family to feed, and an extended one at that.
Nothing wrong with being a real SD if you can afford it.
Just my thoughts and observations. Phil.

Posts: 3475A lesson to be learned
You've heard all of the horror stories of Filipinas (or any Asian nationality) getting one over on the old foreigner in love. Well here's another. I chatted this girl a few years ago, never went anywhere but I'd still see her profile on facebook and tiktok so we'd chat every so often. After a lengthy absense on my part I chat her and find out she's got engaged online. Hasn't met him in many many months but will 'stay loyal to him'. Is that a new house in your tiktok I wonder?. Years go by and finally this Filipina has this old guy in her tiktoks and on facebook. Well good for them I'm thinking, she's got a great looking body and he's getting on in his years so maybe they are happy.
Then I see this on my facebook "can we talk? I thought it was a salesman, been getting spammed with friend requests. Until I realized it was the face of the girl with the guy. So I replied sure we can chat. And then the horror stories comes out. He built her a house, ran out of money while here and she got upset and broke things off. Family dumped him at the airport without a word being said, luggage kicked to the pavement. But he's still using those awful words you hate to hear like "she's a good girl", " we are getting married in 3 months", "I really love her". But the reality hasn't set in yet for him. She's gone "until he comes back with more money". How much money has he spent so far you ask? He even said 'she'd give me back the house if I asked'. Still in denial. Anyone want to take a guess? I'll make it mulitple choice.
A. 600 k pesos.
Be. 2 million pesos.
See. 6 million pesos.
The. 12 million pesos.

But there's a new phenomenon with the digital nomads, earning western money living in Phils. Let's call them sugar mads for now. These young guys walk around the malls with pyt's buying things for them. These guys possibly have more disposable income than retirees. So maybe this type of relationship will eventually replace the SDs.

Caveat: This is not necessarily regarding Phils, but its good discussion of the SB industry, which has been mentioned here before.
Sugar babby confessions:
https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/21-s...091602556.html
My fav:
"I've been a sugar baby for close to five years. I met my first sugar daddy on Tinder, and we've been happily together ever since. We've gone on trips to South America and Europe, eaten at luxury / Michelin-starred restaurants, and stayed at luxury hotels / spa resorts. I've received designer bags (mostly Gucci and Chanel), had my rent paid, received a monthly allowance, and been given many tech gifts (gaming desktop, gaming monitor, printer for university, iPad Pro (and) pen, Apple watch, iPhones for my sister and I, Nintendo Switch, laptops for my sister and I, etc.). For one of my birthday presents, I received liposuction surgery, and he paid the full $8,000 amount! I actually got the iPad Pro and pen from another sugar daddy on our second date, which blew my mind quite honestly. ".
Second caveat: You might have to Lipo your SB.
Third caveat: Giving your SB expensive gifts / services might make her (and you) think that you're not a John and she's not a hoar. So ya, try that.

Its been said many times that any logical assessment has LOS beating PI on looks, numbers, accommodation, food etc. The list goes on. Really the only compensation is English, BBFS and GFE. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that most PI visitors come here due to nostalgia or familiarity rather than a logical assessment of alternatives. Many new guys are now choosing LOS, PHN or even the new options, VND, Jakarta etc.
Of course many old hands are sticking with PH but moving away from the traditional MNL, AC, CEB and finding the joys of the provinces or areas less travelled.
Enjoy. G.

Posts: 1665Anyone who frequents Facebook would be aware of the proliferation of short video clip "reels". Maybe because I actually watched some, I now get inundated by views of walking streets in BKK and Pattaya, etc; by comparison there are very few from Phils. The LBs aside, the girl quality in Thailand seems much better than the Phils. If I was planning on mongering, I know where I'd prefer to be going.

This is in contrast to Phils, which had about 5 million in 2022 (down from about 9 million pre-covid), and little or no change last year.
An interesting comparison between current Phils and Thai numbers: Phils #1 inbounds are Koreans (by far). Checking the article (pic), Thailand visitors are Malaysian, Chinese, Singaporean, and Indian (Koreans further down the list). Thailand tourism has recuperated well without much Korean help; Philippines is very dependent on it. What makes Phils more desirable than Thailand to Koreans?

Posts: 6856Test. Test. Is this thing on?
Well, more than 24 hours with no posts in the Phils threads. Radio silence.
Moving on (or looking back). From the Phils Tourism Dept website.
First pic. Total foreign Immigration numbers for last year, 5. 4 million inbounds. Subtracting 400,000 OFW, that leaves 5 million foreigners.
S Koreans (1), USA (2), Aust (4), China (5), Great Britain (8).
Second pic. Total inbound in the first quarter of this year: 1,400,000. Possibly need to subract OFW, then extrapolate for the year. About the same pace as last year. Still down from the 8-9 million in 2019.

From my experience Bantayan in Cebu has been the most relaxed beach destination but you may have to line up a girl in Cebu City first.
It also takes some effort to get there but it's well worth it.
Boracay is very touristy and although being quite nice, I think it doesn't live up to the hype. Having said that, I managed to find some really nice freelancers there for the GFE.
Sabang has a good little scene happening but you have to walk around to the quieter Laguna Beach to actually see a beach.
It's more geared to the bar scene as opposed to the GFE for a week, but once you have some contact with the locals it works out well.
The good thing is it's relatively easy to get to from Manila with a two. Three hour bus / road trip and then a fastcraft trip from the port at Batangas.
Never had problems with safety in any of these places.

Posts: 153Cheap / Rip Off Trave Agent Deals
Social media keeps giving me there great deals from travel agents to fly to Manila eg £399 ex London with Malaysia Airlines. These ads get hundreds of replies: how much ex Frankfurt, Paris etc and the answer is always to call the travel agent. Doing skyscanner or google searches, Malaysia Airways, to take this example, offer prices nowhere near that level but the agents get lots of enquiries. Due in part to thee being a large Pinay ex pat community, many of whom would like to holiday at home at a reasonable price.
I knew a Viet guy who had cheap prices to Hanoi and HCM the Viets would avail of but these agents seem a right scam. Air China seems to be the cheapest (Saudi is problematic because of connections). Are these ads the old case of if it is too good to be true it is a scam or am I too cynical? Anyone got any tips on cheap prices?
