Posts: 168Let's look at a simpler explanation of comparing the vaccinated vs. The unvaccinated. This graph is from the state of Indiana for this past year. I believe you would see a similar result no matter what population was examined. The bottom line is that these vaccines are extremely effective in preventing serious disease and death.

Posts: 6844More on hospitalizations and vaccines. Article from the CDC, of 43,000 cases in LOS Angeles County (see first pic):
https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7034e5.htm
From the article:
During May 1July 25, 2021, among 43,127 SARS-CoV-2 infections in residents of Los Angeles County, California, 10,895 (25.3%) were in fully vaccinated persons, 1,431 (3.3%) were in partially vaccinated persons, and 30,801 (71.4%) were in unvaccinated persons. On July 25, infection and hospitalization rates among unvaccinated persons were 4.9 and 29.2 times, respectively, those in fully vaccinated persons. In July, when the Delta variant was predominant, cycle threshold values were similar for unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, and vaccinated persons.

Regarding vaccines vs natural Covid infection. Article from the CDC (second pic).
https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2...rotection.html
From the article:
The study of hundreds of Kentucky residents with previous infections through June 2021 found that those who were unvaccinated had 2.34 times the odds of reinfection compared with those who were fully vaccinated. The findings suggest that among people who have had COVID-19 previously, getting fully vaccinated provides additional protection against reinfection.
Additionally, a second publication from MMWR shows vaccines prevented COVID-19 related hospitalizations among the highest risk age groups. As cases, hospitalizations, and deaths rise, the data in todays MMWR reinforce that COVID-19 vaccines are the best way to prevent COVID-19.

While the website you mentioned discusses MCQ / ECQ travel restrictions, I would remind everyone that these can change in a heartbeat. As an example, a few days ago I reported here that the NCR was going from MECQ (strict) to GCQ (less strict) the following day (as reported in major news outlets here). A few hours later that had changed, NCR was staying in MECQ for another week. Also, depending on then-current Covid numbers in the future, various locations can lock down unexpectedly.
The website speaks to inter-city or point-to-point travel requirements. These can also change overnight. Planning Manila and AC? Manila and Cebu? One city only?
Also when I searched 'Philippines Department of Tourism', I got 3 different websites. How can there be 3 websites for one agency?

If anyone gets more intel, please report here.

Should we consider that entry is possible?
But only in the GCQ and MGCQ areas?

"Spring break" is not interminable. It occurs specifically in the Spring, in March and April, depending on when various colleges further north let their students out for a week of spring intermission. It may appear interminable from the outside, but a variety of colleges set their spring break dates at different times because their semesters begin at various dates in January and end anywhere from late April to late May.

From the article:
In a last-minute backtrack, the Philippines' coronavirus task force retained the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in Metro Manila until September 15, delaying the expected transition of the capital region to a new lockdown system.
"Metro Manila's current risk classification as MECQ shall be maintained until September 15, 2021, or until the pilot (general community quarantine) with alert level system is implemented, whichever comes first," Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque confirmed on Tuesday, September 7.
"Having said this, indoor and al-fresco dine-in services, and personal care services, including beauty salons, beauty parlors, and nail spas shall remain prohibited," he added.

Posts: 248This is just simply not true. My best friend runs the ER at a major LA hospital. This friend told me just 2 days ago that essentially EVERYONE they see for covid is unvaccinated. They ask everyone. This is my friend. Who is there every day. This friend has no agenda.
