Good advise GE but I have noted of the last several years that things are sliding in the wrong direction in many parts of Mindanao. I personally regard it as less safe now than in the past. I personally have pulled out & live elsewhere. My decisions are based on long term planning though.

Interesting AV. I'd be interested to learn which places specifically you think are deteriorating--outside of the ARMM and the whole Cotabato area. My sense is that things have actually gotten a bit more stable over the six plus years that I've been here. I had a long, pretty interesting conversation yesterday with a very senior politician from Sulu, and came away with some optimism that even there, things will soon change for the better. The only place I can think of that's done downhill from a security standpoint, since I've been here, is Zamboanga, where I'm headed today. But again, that's only perception and I've got nothing factual to back any of this up.

Tagum is about 30 minutes outside of Davao. There's no unrest whatsoever. The closest conflict situations to Davao are about 3 hours or so West of here, and even in these places, the conflict occurs in fairly remote rural areas where no expats would think of going.

I've been researching the same info and will be in Phil late June early July.

So, if Subic Bay is not a good beach area durring this time of year are there any suggestions of what other place may be better? I was considering Boracay for a few days.

Do you know anything about Tagum city and surrounding area?

I have heard there is the Muslim problems down that way, but a dia girl insists that it is not a problem and many nice beachs south of there.

I want to chill out, with pussy and script writing, not be held hostage by some fukking wacko's wanting to behead me.

I've been in Tagum before, no Muslim problem at all. Same situation as Davao, to which it is very close in fact. I found all the East coast of Mindanao to be no problem (including Butuan, Surigao, etc).

Me too :) I am also going to Subic Bay area 3rd week of June. I have been there and in Angeles City past two Summers. I have not been in Thailand on its rainy season so cannot compare. The Summer two years ago was rainy, last Summer not that much. Day time there can be heavy but short rain showers. From minutes to half an hour. In the evenings it may rain heavy much longer times. If not raining the sky may have thick clouds all day. It could be difficult to burn your skin or even getting a tan. I would not plan for a beach vacation. Not in Subic Bay anyway. For other areas I do not have personal experience.

Subic and Balloy bay kinda works for me in the sense that it has the ocean,beach resorts , resturants, lots of pussy , wi-fi in your bungalow etc.

But researching it on other sites I have found many reports saying they dump all the raw sewage from many communites into the bay. And ALL warn, do not swim there.
That is kinda shocking!

I think the farther south you go, the fewer problems of the rainy season. It really does vary island to island and even what side of the island / mountain you are on.

Thailand (BKK vs Pattaya vs. Koh Samui vs. Phuket) has the same issues.

I have been a few times to Thailand and am contemplating my first visit to the Phillipines the next time in Asia. I have a few questions in terms of the type of girls and the service between Bangkok and Manila.

1) I like light skinned, curvy girls (with see cup or above tits). Is the supply better in Manila than Bangkok?

You can get anything you want in Manila. From massage places to freelance to barfine places. G-Point Cafe and LA Cafe in Malate are FL. Girls might not mention money or they might. About 1/2 are willing back door. 1500-2000 gets a girl LT.

I was going to come over there in late sept. But my schedual has advanced.

So, I'm coming in a few weeks, 3rd week in June,

I assume it will be like Thailand in rainey season.

It seems the temperature does not vary too much, always hot. Hehehe.

I still have not made up my mind what place I, m going to yet, probably Cebu and work my way up and down the coast to find the perfect beach bungalow with wi-fi and air-con.

Any info on being there during rain season and beach places will be appreciated.
