Hey Mongers,
After spending hours and sometimes even day reading and relishing your reports, I'm finally ready to take the plung. But due to my work schedule, I can only travel between Dec29 to Jan 15, and I know that P.I. is a catholic country and so the girls usually go home to spend time with their families. I would appreciate any feedback or heads up any of you PI veterans can give me about traveling at this time.
P.S. My deepest appreciation to all of you, who take your time and effort in posting here, so that novices, like me, can save alot of time, money, and hard ache.

Alona Beach on Panglao Island has a few basic restaurants and beer places. But Its strictly a bring your own type of place. You can take Day Trips to see the other Bohol attractions like Tarsiers,Loboc River Cruise and Chocolate Hils.Tagbilaran the Provincial Capital is a 30 minute Drive away from Alona Beach.Cheers

Posts: 28Spivey24 - Enjoyed your post. I don't think you're alone in experiencing PPD (Post-Pinay Depression) syndrome. Unfortunately, there is no cure that I'm aware of other than the next trip to PI.
You asked the question "what is real and what isn't?" The answer is everything you experienced was real even though it might seem more like fantasy now that you're back home to whatever your normal reality is.
I had a similar experience on a previous trip - after hitting the bars for a while I found one particular girl that I hit it off with more than others (although some others were great also). She was about half my age (19), gorgeous & seemed thrilled to be around me - something that would never happen to me in the U.S. She would have married me in an instant. I was more cautious and once back to reality in the U.S. could think things through a bit more. Even if I was sure I wanted to get married, how practical would this be? If I brought her here to the U.S. , she would not know anyone but me & I work a lot. Filipinas areren't used to being alone & family and friends are much more important there. So I think it would be a difficult adjustment for most. We kept in touch over the Internet & phone for over a year, but I made her no promises & she ended up finding someone else & getting married. Even so she still emails me once in a while to ask how I'm doing. Btw, she never once asked for money from me so there are some girls there that aren't only interested in finding a money-ko. While some mainly want your money, I think others mostly want a way out of poverty (and maybe the bar scene) to a better life with a decent guy. As for the girl you met, keep in touch with her if you really like her. Be honest with her though - if you're not interested in getting married anytime soon, let her know that & just see how things go. If you want to sample more Filipinas, I'd suggest doing that first when you go again & although I generally believe in honesty, this would be an exception -Don't tell your girl since she'll likely be very upset that you want to be with anyone but her.
Anyway, in the meantime, just try to look forward to your next trip. I don't think there will be a shortage of great girls in the PI anytime soon.
I have one question for you - Can you give any more information on Alona Beach? I like to dive a bit & like a nice beach in general. I've considered visiting Bohol on my next trip. How was it there? Is there much to do there other than diving? I'd appreciate any advice or info. you can share.

You sound like a big tipper...scarry to most of us...
Just breath man! Chat with her, tell her the truth that it will be X months before you get back there and NO you can't send her any money for the sick hamster, and see what happens...
