I am working daily on a 'fresh blend'. So far none of my vaxxed patients have contracted this plague. I credit weekly booster shots.

A man can do only so much. I have been fully committed to my craft these past 18 months, and many a young lass is better off for it. Good point. This one in fact is the neighbor of one of my regulars, and she has now become one of my regulars. She returns Thursday for another booster. I will let her decide which of my proprietary vaccines she wants: "Ibeenavaxxin", "Iwannavax", "Doublevaxmetoday", or "Gimmemorevax".

I have some good news, and some bad news.

You are right, the dfa link I posted had no date but it was referenced in the Reuters link. Like many half-baked announcements in the Philippines, there were ambiguities in the new policy.

US, UK, etc. , were among the non-visa-required countries but were never on "green list".

I did buy a ticket to Philippines for over $3k in cattle class and today I cancelled it. Damn Omicron.

If I was making plans to travel I would not rush into it as I think that there is a high risk that the authorities could impose further restrictions and might even do a full lockdown again, and travellers could end up marooned as many hundreds of thousands of travellers were last March.

Yes. Outsiders are possibly not thinking ahead to the fluidity of the pandemic thinking of those in pinoy-land. One gent here said on this page that a 15-day visit might be possible. Imagine: You fly in on December 1, to depart December 15. Things change after you buy your ticket (or just after you board your flight), and the Phils government suddenly requires a 7 or 14-day quarantine, making your visit worthless.

The phils is to open on a temporary, 15 day basis, beginning on Dec 1, to vaccinated travelers, who must have a negative covid test taken within 3 days of their flight.

I went on the PAL website to look for flights from JFK. There were a few available in December with an average fare of $2800 which is very high. Who knows if the temporary period will be extended, and also there's the problem if you buy a ticket and they ban travel. Which would leave the traveler / monger at the tender mercies of PAL.

Its confusing to say the least and typical of the Phils but there's light at the end of the tunnel.
