Thanks posting that. Have been watching that site for a few days. The site updates the numbers twice daily. Its ugly for a number of countries, USA, Italy, Korea. So much smaller for Phils, but Phils is just simply behind the others, give it a week or two.

Many of us in the same boat during the lockdowns of various cities, from NCR to the province. "Fall in line sir".

Booked an airbnb condo recently in the province. All good. The day before checkin I got a msg from the host: "Sorry to inform sir that starting today the Mgmt of the Residence has suspended all transient entry to the condo during the COVID Signal. I have cancelled your reservation". I see, understood. I reserved an airbnb elsewhere nearby. Few days later I noticed the same original Residence still had the exact same units available thru airbnb, so I contacted a different Host there and asked if the unit was available during lockdown. "No sorry to inform its not". Check. An hour later I received a msg from that same host: "Are you Filipino sir? If so, you can able to check in if you have Medical Certificate for the Mgmt". I see. But for us (haha) Filipino only? "Yes sir. You can get Certificate from any doctor and bring me". Must say, that's pretty sh*tty.

    Shangri-la Fort

Just want to update you fellas about the situation in Manila.

Unfortunately I am stuck here for a month. I am staying in Shangri-la Fort BGC. It's one of the few reputable hotels that are still operating at this time. There's no lounge, pool, gym no anything! Dining is in room only. I wanted to get a lady from Smooci but hotels won't let any guest who aren't registered in. Booked a nearby AirBnB so my sorry arse can have some sexy time. It's a sad time to be deployed here. I was looking forward to my month long dining on Filipinas.

    Goodluck

Goodluck finding any of those in stock anywhere. I ordered a handheld bidet last week. I had been putting it off for a while, when I went to actually make the order turns out lots of people had the same idea. Not a single moderately priced bidet was availlable. I ordered anyways, my ass should be much cleaner next week when it arrives.

No fancy Japanese heated water feature with this model, but eliminates skid marks in the undies and reduces the strain on septic systems and municipal sewer systems for digesting TP. Prime shipping puts it at your door in two days. Then no more need for panic-buying TP.

Its not TP that block sewers its condoms, sanitary pads, nappies, fat and all the other non biodegradable stuff people flush down the toilet or sinks. The last think that I am worried about is running out of toilet paper. If I'm desperate I will use the hand sprayer from my garden hose that has a nice trigger action and good spray.

Don't forget the roll of easy information. The 1918 Flu Epidemic fell in the middle of WWI so both the Axis and Allies actively suppressed information about its effect lest the enemy know how much of their manpower was being consumed. Fun Fact: it was called the 'Spanish' Flu as only neutral Spain was reporting its effects.

    What's Different This Time?

What's different this time from all other pandemics in the past is the incredible, international mobility of the Chinese population. Viruses cannot be contained when such a large group of people is absolutely intent on getting on a plane. China is the world's factory and manufactures just about everything the world needs. Over the past 15-20 years, entrepreneurial Chinese have become incredibly wealthy, making stuff or servicing the needs of the middle class. There are thousands of millionaires and millions of middle class people in China who are addicted to overseas travel.

    1. Tourists. Middle class Chinese love international travel. If you've ever been to the world's major tourist traps, there is one nationality group that will stand out. It doesn't matter whether its Paris, Rome or Fez, Morocco.

    2. Belt and Road Policy. The Chinese Communist Party underwrites just about every major infrastructure project in developing countries. Obviously, the poor governments in African countries or in the Pacific are never going to be able to pay off those soft loans, so are happy to give up their sovereignty. These projects requires thousands of Chinese nationals (engineers, project managers and construction workers) to develop and deliver. They are sent to all parts of the globe.

    3. International Students. There are about 2 million Chinese students studying outside of China in various rich, white man countries. They and their parents are always flying around.

    4. In this particular case, thousands of Chinese, who are residents in other countries, went back to China to celebrate Lunar New Year. Hence they took the virus back to various rich white man countries after their family visit.

There are over 100,000 Chinese who are permanent residents in Italy. Easy to work out how the virus got there.

I have heard the virus refereed to as Boomer Remover.

You have some valid points, however.

We can't afford to have the aged getting sick as most health systems in the world will meltdown, as it has in Italy. If ICU beds aren't available, how do you treat the 20 year old car accident victim? Doctors will have to prioritise.

This might be just "the flu" for those under 50, but the over 70 aged group is particularly affected. Apparently it's like drowning in air, and the damage to the lungs is long lasting. We don't want the young passing it to the old, hence the restriction in social contact. The two month lockdown in China appears to have worked.

The hysteria is not just confined to Filipinos. I live in rich white man land and the behaviour of the people here is also irrational. Some people have filled their entire double garage, floor to ceiling, with toilet paper, pasta, rice and hand sanitiser. People are pulling out knives in supermarkets at the toilet paper aisles.

Mongers will just have to pack away their dicks for the next six months and take up a more useful hobby. One that perhaps exercises their brains a bit more. You'the be surprised how easy it is to forget about chasing Pinay pussy and get along with normal life.
What did we do for all the past flu epidemics? We did not shut down the world. The difference here is that this virus is a more contagious but the death rate is not much higher. An Italian study showed that of all the Italians that died 99.2% had serious concomittant diseases-diabetes, etc. Only. 8 percent were healthy individuals. That's across all ages. Let the old people die, it's their time, same as with all the past flu epidemics for which we did not go to all these crazy remedies than are worse than the disease itself. They will have a vaccine soon and then transmission will be much less likely. I could be wrong but that's the way I see it.

I only have two regulars that I trust, and care about enough, to send any assistance to. The others can make due however they can through this and if that means I will need some new regulars then they are not that hard to find.

Yes and no. While those that live in the city will have real bills to pay, those that can return to the province can live on next to nothing tending some chickens and watching the world go by for days on end. It will be the boy friends and uncles who will have the shock of reduced cash flow. Not the girls.

Imagine all those girls that are currently just gagging to be around our rugged good looks, wit and charm after 3 to 6 months of no income. The stunners, who had the cash to go home, are now broke having supported failed sarisari stores and chicken farms with no income. Now add all the unemployed casual sales clerks who normally would not be on the game but are now looking for a supportive 'boyfriend'.

The only thing missing this time will be the collapsing currency that reduced costs to an absolute pittance in USD terms.

    Enjoy. G.
