Just look at the mortality rates. Most western countries are reporting 1 to 2% while many in Asia are reporting up to 9%. Perhaps Asians are particularly susceptable or have a more deadly form of Covod19. However, my money is that there are actually 4 times as many cases out there that have been diagnosed and reported.

Big difference between zero cases and zero confirmed cases. With the ease of transmitting this and the fact that people can have it and be shedding the virus with no symptoms coupled with the lack of testing, it's no wonder that some places are reporting zero cases.

In Davao, where I live, individual movements become more restricted every few days, and we're now transitioning to an exit pass system that allows one person per household to leave the property to buy food and / or medicine. The only exceptions are for "essential" workers.
I am in a different city, but am seeing the same things you mentioned. Right from the start of the lockdown here, many families (including 2 of my regulars) simply started spending 24 hours a day inside their homes. Only 1 person per household goes outside for food, medicine, or other necessity. Another person goes in / out for laundry (the machine is not inside the house for one family, or done by hand for the other fam). Both girls are adamant about not being around anyone else, and about keeping their restless brothers inside the (tiny, sweltering) home. They are as voluntarily locked down as can be (praise be, folk in my country certainly are not sheltering-in-place). My girls and their families are literally afraid.

Mayors and city lockdown rules (Mayoral proclamations) can change. A neighboring city had curfew hours of 9 pm-6 am and a handful of other rules (ie the closure of churches, malls, entertainment venues). Recently a second proclamation lengthened the curfew to 6 pm-6 am, and added another dozen or so minor restrictions (could not understand all of it in the local tongue).

Barangay can tighten the Mayor's restrictions even more, increasing the curfew hours in this or that Brgy, or instituting alcohol bans in the Brgy (but not the city). As these things are unannounced, it can lead to confusion, and don't expect the Brgy to post that information anywhere (at best, and this is shoddy, a brgy official will mention a new rule to a local, expecting it to chismosa its way around, but they are not notifying local hotels or condos. Or convenience stores or saris).

Condos. Immediately stopped accepting new guests of any kind. Or alternately, they briefly for a few days would accept new guests if the guest had a doctor's medical certificate (with CBC) and a Brgy Health Clearance (showing 14 days quarantine); then suddenly they reverted to: No new guests (and that refers to you, airbnb folk, even if you reserved it for 2 people and your local GF is with you, she might now be OUT). Think airbnb can save you in this instance? Good luck, it now takes airbnb 7-10-ish days to return any messages you leave for them ("Apology we are currently overwhelmed by Covid issues"; yes and mine is one of them). The good news is that airbnb has agreed to refund for all Covid issues.

Hotels: Same as condos above, then a number of them closed completely within a week. Many have gone to no new guests, or accepting guests only with a Brgy health clearance. If you are in a hotel, you don't dare leave for another one unless you have spoken directly to the front desk to see if your room is available and ask if you need any medical clearance.

With the bloom of the past week, with many of the new cases coming out of Manila, I can not foresee the NCR being let out of the lockdown. An extra 2 or 4 (or more) weeks, as needed. However provinces might lighten up (those with zero cases). I don't have a province-by-province breakdown of cases and deaths (only the site that ME left for us). Does anyone have such a site?

    Reading Material

For those horny mongers who are struggling to get through the lockdown without Pinay pussy, here is the next best thing. A thesis on prostitution in Sabang from Uppsala University in Sweden.

An interesting quote from this scholarly paper:

"Those who come to explore the underwater wonders discover an overdeveloped cluster of geriatric watering holes full of delu- sional men with decorative money-hungry twenty-somethings on their arms. Do these guys really scuba dive? Anyway, underwater the scenery is worth the sleazy company. " (Contemporary Nomad 2014).

If she were to caught me, I will stop it right away, say sorry and take it like a man.

But yeah, I agree, I'm playing with fire right now. Well now in the province not too much since she doesn't know much people here where we are.

But in Cebu City. Yes, I risk getting caught since she had friends from her university years, and also her workmates, she lived in Cebu the last 6 years.

I know sooner or later I have to quit this thing before is too late. As a monger the last 10 years and having lots of girls the last 20+ years, I know soon I will end this and start a new chapter in my life. But in the meantime I need to enjoy this as much as I can so I can give a good farewell to this lifestyle.
But for your own good (I do not know you and am not judging you), you need to get a grip. You're letting your little head do your thinking. Be careful, be exceedingly careful about Filipinas.

I have to remind myself everyday that my sweet, loving tall, gwapa g / f is much like a hookr. She is pretending to love me for the comforts I am providing in contrast to the cr*p place her family lives in and the cr*p food they eat and some other things like actually knowing how to UK. It's an illusion. I remind myself this because one day she will realize that she really doesn't love me as much as she thought and she really doesn't need me as much as she thought and then I will not be too hurt from waking up from a nice dream to reality. I may take her back to the USA with a good prenuptial that makes it more likely she will stay with me till I die, which might not be far off.

I have been spending a lot of time, between stupid cat videos on YouTube, hunting on the dating sites.

There is a huge uptick in the number of girls asking for money right off the start, claiming that they are starving.

I know a lot of these claims will be bullshit but knowing how corrupt and uncaring some officials here are I am sure that some are not distributing relief supplies and keeping them for themselves or to sale.

The president really needs to clamp down on any official corruption in this area.

Sure we all know he is not able to handle the Ferrari, but it sounds like he is not the type that wants to be seen putzing around in a minivan.

I'm always skeptical about serious relationship with someone in another country, but the chemistry we have is hard to let it pass by, so I'm taking the plunge and giving it a try. Yeah I know I'm cheating on her, but part of that is to test her to see if she let me have free time with my friends and to see if she is not a controlling / extremely jealous GF. So far everything looks good, she pass all the test. I'm almost halfway from the 6 months, so will see what happens.
She does not know cheat on her and shag multiple women whenever you can. So if / when she finds out you may find she thinks you are not compatible with her and then regret being forced to give up her job. Which IMHO is very controlling and sinister as if you can't live without her for one minute you are somewhat a crazy dude or one of those who believes in true love LOL.

P.S. I have been caught shagging my lady's sister and still forgiven but was touch and go LOL And had more then one set of bisexual sisters but which one should marry!

But it is no love, no relation.
Sorry to hear what's going on between you and your girl, but I always said, if you are looking for a serious relationship find someone closer to your age, even in the Philippines, 10 to 20 years difference is fine. My girl and I have only 10 years difference (late 20's her and me late 30's), in your case since you are in your 60's you should find someone in her 40's, I think 20 years of difference should be fine for you if you want to find a girl who sees a future with you and will RESPECT you enough that she won't cheat on you when you are away.

I know any guy can be fool, even the young ones, but the likelihood of happening is greater the older you are to her. So age difference is very important in a serious relationship.

I know the part that she won't cheat on you when you are away is hard to believe, but that's why you need to do your homework and find a really good filipina who is faithful and really looking for a serious relationship / soulmate, she has to be hardworker so she can depend on herself without asking for money.

You need to spend alot of time with her also, at least 1 month living together, seeing eachother everyday so you can find out if you are compatible, if she has any red flags even just one, run away!

You also need to give her great sex, the best sex of her life, so great that the only person she wants to have sex from now on is with you, because you open her pandora box on every orgasm you give her (LOL just a metaphor).

Also if she happens to be young and with no kids, you should be willing to give her a baby in the future otherwise she won't see you on her future and eventually she will find someone else who will give her a baby.

And stop sending money or else she will see you as an ATM machine and she won't respect you anymore, that's why is better to find someone who is hardworker and independent. If she is educated is a plus also, but between educated and hardworker / independent women, for me hardworker is more important, some educated women are lazy, but hardworker / independent women are never lazy, because they hate doing nothing, they take action, and they are always working to finance themselves, they hate depending from others.

In my case the reason I'm spending 6 months together with my GF is so I can decide if she is my forever, I need to make sure, so 6 months living together everyday should be enough time for me to decide. I'm always skeptical about serious relationship with someone in another country, but the chemistry we have is hard to let it pass by, so I'm taking the plunge and giving it a try. Yeah hard to believe, even me sometimes I don't believe. But I decided last December to give it a try and make it serious with her. Is still a work in progress but will see what happens.

About passing any diseases to her. I know is hard to know for sure if you will get a STD or not, specially since many times she raped me after coming home from having sex with other chicks, but I try my best to avoid getting germs, if one of the chicks look like a * or very experience specially with foreigners I will wear condom, I don't meet hookers or goldiggers, all of them have a career / job, well now some of them lost their jobs temporary because of the virus. I was suppose to get test it on April, but since everything is close now, I will do it late April or on May.

By the way guys a trick I learn here to get rid off the smell of sex in your body or clothes, is to spend 15 to 20 minutes around those barbecue street vendors before going home so the barbecue smoke will stay in your body. This really works guys, specially on your clothes, the barbecue smell is so strong that it will stay in your clothes for days!

I'd just stay my tongue and let the dummies get infected and die, only I can't because they'll infect lots of innocent girls and other people. The reason everyone desperately want ventilators is that 20% of infected go to the ICU. 80% are mild, which includes pneumonia. Yeah, something that normally is among worst-case scenarios is considered mild with Covid-19. Thus the need for crazy amounts of ventilators.

"Out of Spain's 40,000 confirmed coronavirus cases, 5,400 — nearly 14 percent — are medical professionals, the health ministry said on Tuesday."

America told its people don't wear masks because of cultural / racial biases, and because they didn't have enough for health care workers. NYTimes is now changing its tunes.

Why Telling People They Don't Need Masks Backfired: To help manage the shortage, the authorities sent a message that made them untrustworthy.

More Americans Should Probably Wear Masks for Protection: Experts have started to question whether masks may offer at least some protection to healthy individuals and essential workers.

I'm an ER doctor. Please take coronavirus seriously: Most people don't understand exponential growth. If they did, they'the be far more frightened.

There are a lot more but if anyone reads all these and still don't care then they're a lost cause that will cost a lot of lives.
