Posts: 360A week into my two week trip to the phils I had to go back early to the USA so I went to the PAL office on Ayala ave in Makati.
They wanted $250 to change the ticket and about $1500 because of a 'fare difference!' I've never encountered anything like this in my life.
Expedia bailed me out with a last minute one way ticket for $814.
As a long time visitor I really have to re evaluate the phils. The girls are much heavier than even 5 years ago is my impression. And if there isn't cheap flights anymore what's the point.
If it was an Air France office in central Paris and I was trying to change my flight to NY at the last minute I could understand getting clipped but the friggin Philippines?

Dell is a great shout!
The way I see it is that sending cash is definitely a lost cause. As the old proverb says, if you give a (wo) man a fish you feed her for one day. Teach her to fish. You get the picture.

However, if you think you are being fairly compensated, then more power to you.
Have you considered going direct to the laptop manufacturers? Many have good online stores and shipping options. Dell jumps to mind.
Good luck. G.

I won't ask you why would you do this as it is none of my business nor any of my concern what anyone does here.
Good luck.

Posts: 134She's not a hooker-type, more like friends with benefits. I can get her a job as a Virtual Assistant. A PC / laptop is a prerequisite. She will want to pay me back in kind, a proverbial win-win situation.
Thanks for Lazad tip.

Instead of sending money, I'd like to buy her a laptop. That way, she can earn and not just spend. Any suggestions for a reliable online retailer? I'm thinking Amazon. Cheers, Steve.

I googled the above and clicked through on a few links, most of which were Manila clinics using the same info (plagiarism). Though I know the women in clubs get tested (let's leave quality control issues aside), the STI rats should be off the charts, given condom use etc is minimal. I was also amazed the Phils was not hit harder by HIV / Aids. I have watched documentaries on Angeles women who contracted it.
The Koreans have a low level of STI disease, unlike Westerners. However, the Phils is an enigma, banging away like bunny rabbits and few give a flying FK about diseases.

Posts: 6834I posted this in the Indonesia forum. Millions of dollars to get a 10-year visa in Indo. Compare to $10,000 USD (+ $360 yearly) to get a lifetime retirement visa in Phils. I understand there is similar to Phils for Thailand. And Cambodia possibly has a better one, that can simply be purchased at inbound Immigration when landing ($300 USD good for one year, extendable indefinitely)? Anyway:
