Any idea what the logic behind these absurdly high rental prices are? I imagine it probably goes something like, I haven't made any money on this condo for months! I have to double the rent to make up for it! With no consideration as to what demand levels might be.

We have discussed the logic of this in the past. Not just with accommodations, but for other items where the price is increased when the economy is depressed. East-meets-West logic.
