"That's roughly 3% of the (possible) female population that might be engaged in sex activity" is not the full statement that I meant to say.
I meant " That's roughly 3% of the (possible) female population that might be engaged in P4 P activity".
I have no doubt that many more females are engaging in sex activity with bfs, gfs, husbands etc but this happens way outside of any mongering contexts.

In my world KFC and Taco Bell are not food, just heart disease etc bombs. Taco Bell is pseudo Mexican and I don't consider Mexican food as food. Trust those that know also know I don't eat that crap. By food I mean healthy nutritious etc and a walk around most malls in the Philippines will show you that is an area seriously lacking.
Now I have eaten Mexican 'food' - with Westie and I got serious food poisoning. And the other time with Irony Monger (same resto) and he chose the food as he understand Mexican 'cuisine' and was OK but I don't go running to those places (more away from LOL).
But your comments is understood and each to his own but the fact that the news had this as a prominent feature goes to show how much the news here is biased towards anything of a 'good news story' regardless of what the rest of the world thinks.

Posts: 3230Size of P4 P scene (reposted from AC thread)
I think many guys who visit here or who trawl through the dating sites get a false impression of just how large (small?) the P4 P scene inn the Philippines actually is.
If you visit AC; hang out at the bars in Cebu or Burgos Street / GB / Malate in Manila you see only a fraction of the population.
Some hard data:
Phils population (today) is 103.2 M (increasing by 5335 births each day).
62.5 M of this population is aged between 15 and 64.
31.2 M of this 15 - 64 population are females.
Let's guess some numbers.
If there are (say) 2000 working girls in AC; 3000 working girls in Manila; 3000 working girls in other cities; 2000 women on dating sites; that's one million females.
That's roughly 3% of the (possible) female population that might be engaged in sex activity.
If you want to double it to be extra conservative, then make it 6% of the (possible) female population that might be engaged in sex activity.
That leaves 28 M women going about their normal life not even aware of the "red light" scene in Manila, AC or elsewhere. Those of us who live here interract with these women each day in our work and business transactions. Sex is not on the agenda, discussed or ever an issue.
I hope this helps give some perspective.
If you want to check my figures, there are plenty of sites (eg http://countrymeters.info/en/Philippines).

I was in my late 40's before I accepted that I was "middle aged". I did the math. Over half way to the average life span. Ouch.
GE, when did you start admitting that you are a "senior". I've been told that you'd punch out any young 20 ish guy who suggested that you put out one of your 30 cigarettes a day. But I've also heard you love wine. So maybe that is your elixir.

But at T3 I always check in online and trust NE the queues are huge for bag drop off as no dedicated counter. CPac is trying to get everyone to check in at the booths before the desks hence less hassle for the counter staff.
In Mactan (Cebu) I have better luck than Manila but I once said "why ask me to check in online if there is no dedicates desk and I have to still queue for a long time" All I got was 'wait a while" LOL.

I am sure I have seen separate online checked in baggage drop lines for Cebu Pacific in BKK, Cebu and Manila. But I have not used any.
GE may not have any check in luggage. Usually CP tags the carry on at the counter.

One of the nice things about living here as one advances in years, is the priority given and deference paid to "seniors. " I fly almost weekly out of terminal 3, and I never get in line to get into the terminal. Instead, I go to the front of the queue and tell the security person that I'm a senior (no lie there) and I'm allowed through the entrance immediately. Since I always print my boarding pass for CP from my computer, I just go to the gate after airport entry. The whole process rarely takes more than 5 minutes.

At NAIA T3 recently, I got dropped off for my CP domestic flight fully 3 hours prior to departure. The lines outside were the normally long lines. As I was approaching the queue with my luggage, one of the airport porters approached me and asked if I was a business traveler. In almost all of my past trips, this is a cue for a bribe to get thru that line faster. Usually I give the guy p100 (or even p50) and he's happy with that. Yes, stud, I am a business traveler. He put my bags on a cart and before he could move me towards the door, I told him p100. He wanted p500. I giggled and pushed the cart to the end of the line. He dropped to 450. I demured with 100. He walked away. A few minutes later he walked by again and offered 400. I looked away. A moment later a different porter walked by and asked if I was a senior. I have no idea in phils what age a senior is, but I replied Yes, yes I am. My knees tell me the rains are coming.
He took the cart from me and led me past the queue to the door, loading my luggage onto the xray machine, then off the machine once the luggage was through it. He walked me right to the CP line for Persons With Disabilities / Senior Citizens (the queue was empty) and left me there, he turned to walk away. I called him back and pulled the folded p100 note from my shirt pocket that I had ready for the first guy, and stuck my hand out to shake his hand, with the folded note concealed in my palm. When he saw that I was attempting to give him money, he smiled and walked away. Sweet! I checked in and went right to security and my gate. Apparently chivalry is not dead in phils. BTW, there were LOTS of much older philipino in the long line, and I did not see a single one of them selected for the same good treatment.
Later date in Cebu, when departing for the province at the Lapu airport (early afternoon flight, weekend), there was nobody in line at the airport entrance xray machine. Then there was nobody in the queue at my CP domesic flight queue. From airport entrance to gate was under 7 minutes. WTF it never happens so good!
