    Meeting Women

What I am looking for is any suggestions or information from you pro's as to what I need to be looking for when contacting a girl.
If you're really looking for someone with whom to establish a long-term relationship, I would forget about getting it done on line. For one thing, it's too difficult to separate the hustlers from sincere women. For another, what you learn about her on line is limited to what she wants to share with you, which might not encompass what you really need or want to know.

The only reliable way to meet women for something other than sex is, in my opinion, to come here for a fairly extended period and see for yourself. Once you're here, you have several options. You can meet expats who have lived here for a while and who are in long-term relationships and ask them to ask their partners to introduce you to "serious" friends. You can take matters into your own hands by just engaging women who appeal to you in conversation and see where it goes from there. You can (as I have often encouraged others to do) hang around various universities and professional schools and start conversations with appealing women. I know some guys who meet women at church and who go there specifically for that purpose, and others who join various religiously oriented groups. If you're into sports like golfing, diving, or tennis, you will run into women who might interest you on the golf course, the dive boat or the tennis court. My point is that there are multiple venues and multiple approaches to meeting women once you're here.

Even before coming here however, you should probably determine beforehand where you're going to go. This is a large country and the various regions are different.

Are there anyways of finding a girl who wants a relationship without raiding my wallet, or without pushing for marriage right away so she can get Visa? Some of these girls are regular pros at making you feel bad for them or hiding the real truth as to why they are interested in you.

Any pointers or info would be very appreciated.

You haven't left it long enough yet. You said 95% mention money quickly but what about the 95%.

You just need to be patient. Make sure your profile does NOT say you are looking for marriage. Say something like you are looking for friends first and will then see where the friendship takes you. Saying you are looking for a wife will attract everyone, including scammers etc.

Also. Get a thicker skin. Don't let them make you "feel bad". If you fall for their stories they think you are a sucker anyway. Just go with the stats. There are 100s of women on DIA for example. Keep trawling and you will eventually find at least one, which is really all you want.

Hi I'm sure I and other guys with extensive phils experience are delighted to try to help but i think we need a little bit more background as to what you are looking fior and what type of guy you are etc.

Your message was using Indian English, are you or Indian background? If so do you live there or in the Us ? obviously Phil girls will be much keener to move to the US. Approx how old are you and what age lady are you looking for? Are you looking fior a sweet innocent virgin type or somebody more wild and experienced? Is educational background important for you? Do you mind if she has a big family (who are likely to see you as a source of income if you marry her?)

As a general rule if i were looking for a wife rather than fun, I would be more interested in Chinese girls, because if you are potentially offering marriage and western visa you can find a university educated girl who speaks pretty good Engliush who will accept a say 15 year age gap, The Chinese in general are hard working, entrepreneurial and have small families. If you have a well educated one, she can probably get a reasonable job when with you in the West, and if you have a job/social circle where such things are important then she is likely to be considered much more respectable amongst your friends. I would personally be very wary of getting a Thai wife, as i think the high class ones are not so interested in marrying a big age gap foreign guy and the lower class ones often either don't speak much English or are bar girls. Doubtless there will be guys here who have known of exceptions, but personally I think if you marry a thai bar girl you are asking for trouble.

If you are not so concerned about education/hard work etc and dont mind marryingt into a large family with many mouths to feed, the philly girls are a good option as they speak better English and there are millions available, they will tolerate higher age gaps than other Asian girls.

Personally I would go for a girl who is at least college/uni educated speaks excellent English doesnt have a baby etc

I wouldn't want to be responsible for students in Manila. There are just too many things that can go wrong. It's a big dirty city and there are security issues.

For whatever it's worth, Cebu seems to attract a lot of Korean students who come to study English.

In Cebu it would be harder to be discrete, but still doable. And if you are there long term, you might find yourself enjoying the regular ladies rather than going for p4p.

I would agree with X Man

if you want some links with the best colleges/unis in PI then you prob have to go to Manila but its too big to be much fun for me. Cebu has alot of unis too and as someone said is very popular with Korean students learning English. cebu would be the best destination from the point of girls in my view. Dumaguete would be the third choice, it has Sulliman Uni, one of the best in the phils and a few smaller colleges. Its a much smaller town much more difficult to do things discretely and the ratio of western retirees/hot young chicks is probably the worst iin the country.

Philippine Airlines: using visa card for buying (booking) e-tickets

    Apeman,

I've noticed this also recently, but with Philippine Airlines. Last year (2009) I've tried several times to buy e-tickets online for a Philippine Airlines flight Manila-Cebu-Manila. To my biggest fustration it didn't work. After complaining many times by e-mail, and with the use of a little pressure by using their slogan "We care" I've succeeded to get the e-tickets after all.

Last week, I've tried my luck again and booked online e-tickets for the flights Bangkok-Manila-Bangkok. I was extremely surprised to see that the transaction by visa card was accepted and confirmed at the first time. Looks indeed like they pulled their finger out and fixed the problem! Hurray.

    Start with De La Salle

All the major universities and most of the best are located in Metro Manila. University of the Philippines, Ateneo (Jesuit), and De La Salle (La Salle Brothers) are considered the best in the Philippines and are more likely to have respectable economics faculties. University of the Philippines (UP) has the best faculty in most fields of study, but the buildings, streets, and physical plant are falling apart. Ateneo and De La Salle have much better facilities, since they are institutions that sustain the elite classes of the country. Ateneo and UP are within a couple miles of each other, but they're in Quezon City, far from mongering sites except for the expensive clubs on Quezon Avenue. I'll come back to De La Salle later.

About a rung below these is Santo Thomas, located along Espana Avenue in Northeast Manila. Far Eastern University, San Beda College, and Polytechnic University of the Philippines are somewhat smaller schools, similarly in Northeast Manila. They are much closer than UP and Ateneo, but because they're North of the Pasig River, traffic often is a problem in getting by taxi to the mongering locations. If you're willing to learn to ride the light rail system, that might not be a problem.

Philippine Normal University, Technological University of the Philippines, Adamson University, Santa Isabel College, and University de Manila are somewhat less prestigious schools about a 15 to 20-minute sweaty walk from LA Cafe in Manila. I am guessing your employer will want you to be housed near the students, and that means on campus or very close nearby. So you should not plan on taking p4ps to your regular housing location. So your mongering model would need to include using short time hotels like Eurotel, Sogo, or the rooms upstairs in Amazonia. But for all of these closer universities people coming and going from campus would be unlikely to cross paths with you as you move to or from LA Cafe in the company of some p4p.

St. Paul's University, Philippine Christian University (yeah, right!), and Philippine Women's University (yeah, double right!) are less than 10 minutes walking distance from LA, but too close to risk movement too and from LA Cafe.

You might want to look up these institutions on Wikipedia and then check out their websites. Be prepared for the reality that most Philippine websites are not well maintained and have lots of deadend links. You might also download the free version of Google Earth if you don't already have it, and do a "business" search for these institutions. UP and Ateneo are in Quezon City; all the others are Manila. Also, do a search for LA Cafe. I believe it shows up as a marked restaurant or bar. Locating the universities and LA Cafe will give you a sense of the lay of the land.

When you've done all these things, then check out De La Salle. They have a very compact campus at the extreme Southern edge of Manila, and I think they have over 10,000 students. Location wise they are within a 10 minute cab ride to either LA Cafe or the EDSA entertainment complex, or, if you want, you can easily ride the LRT from right in front of campus to Pedro Gil (10 minute walk to LA) or to the corner of Taft and EDSA, about 5 minutes on foot to the EDSA complex. I saved them for last, but I strongly recommend that you start with these folks. I have some friends there, and I know they're looking for foreign partnerships.

Send me a pm if you want to know more.

I think you just have to leave the country and you can come straight back in, but it will typically be cheaper and less hassle to get a visa extension (about $50 or so once all the extras are added in. I thinjk I'm right in saying tha tthe i9nitial extension extends the 21 days to 60 ie an additional 39, subsequent extensions can be for either 1 or 2 months. Any travel agent wil do it for you for say 1000P extra or you can go yourself and hang around the office for a couple of hours if you prefer to save the money

It was, I believe, me. I have had a little success with OLX but CL is better.

Another site worth a try is http://www.sulit.com.ph which is the most used online classifieds in the Philippines.
