You must be married to a Filipina if...

(Written by an American guy who loves his Filipina wife despite "irregularities")

Your refrigerator is always full but you cannot find any food that you recognize.
Most of the decorations in your house are made of wicker.
You are expected to be able to read her mind just by watching her eyebrows move up and down and which way her lips are pointed.
The instant you are married you have 3000 new close relatives that you can't tell apart.
All the desserts are sticky and all the snacks are salty.
Even the ketchup [catsup (Jufran) ] tastes weird.
You throw a party and everyone is fighting to chop the leathery skin off a dead pig.
Your in-laws take 10 years to acknowledge your existence and to call you by something other than "that white guy."
Your first Christmas present is some funny-looking, baggy see-through shirt made out of leftover lace doilies.
Your phone bills are all international and average 3 hours per call.
The rice cooker is on 24/7 and uses up 50% of your electric and food budget.
On your first trip to the Philippines, you have 18 giant boxes that weigh 1000 pounds each and your "carry-on" luggage requires a small forklift truck.
All your postage bills instantly double.
Her favorite sauce is called patis. Americans call it turpentine.
You were married five years before she explained to you that "Aray" doesn't mean "Ooh, baby!"
Her homeland has more megamalls than islands.
Your kitchen table has a merry-go-round in the middle.
Her friends are named Chinky, Baby, Boy, and Bimbo and you're not allowed to smirk.
All your place settings are backwards and there are no spoons.
She's done her best job planning a surprise party for you if she manages not to tell you about it until a week or two before.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST: You are pretty proud of yourself because you think you snagged up for yourself some unique, rare, tropical goddess until you go to the Philippines and can't tell her apart from anyone else in the whole country (unless she's taller than 5'1". Then it's a bit easier).

    Sanchez was the girl's name!

Great post Tmouse. Don't worry about cumming....just keep getting the stinky on your dinky -- that's what counts!

Despite what others have said at ISG, I find the Cialis to be effective (for the woody, not the cumming). Figure about 300 pesos per 4 tab box.

Your post suggests you've already found some chemical enhancement, but thought I would clarify.

September Road Trip, Part 10 - Angeles City

Maybe I’ll switch sides and join with the bar-hoppers. My two DIA girls didn’t work out so well. Of course, my two forays into P4P weren’t exactly sterling either. I’ve been here two days now and – to be crude – haven’t dropped a load yet, not that I haven’t had opportunities. Sigh. Age and Cialis.

I checked into the Pacific Breeze late Monday afternoon and met Nenita as planned for dinner. We ate at the hotel. Afterward, we each knocked back three B52s, plus one I knocked over and spilled on my shirt and pants. That provided an excuse to go to my room to change clothes. We wound up on the bed where I touched, fondled and explored her nooks and crannies for an hour or so. We also talked while groping, and that was my undoing. Or not, to be accurate.

Nenita is a good girl. I think she would have let me have her that night if I had pressed – she was certainly turned on enough – but I didn’t try to go that last step. I would have had to lie and hurt her, and she was really too nice. I would also, to be honest, have had to spend the next couple of days with her. Nah. She was pretty but nowhere near as pretty as girls that are common here. So I feigned nobility and sent her home, unpenetrated if not untouched. It was late by then and – after Brenda – I was more in need of rest than root, so I went to bed.

Tuesday morning, I took a long, hard walk out Fields Avenue and Perimeter Road, taking the opportunity to relocate Nifty’s and Rio, two BJ clubs. (They’re down a side street – Garfield’s is on the corner.) Then I dropped of laundry – more than 4 kilos for 140 pesos – and went back to the hotel for a shower, lunch and some online time.

In early afternoon, I sauntered down Sanchez Street – Blow Row – and collected Marie from one of the bars. They’re still there despite the encroaching new developments. Marie said she was 19 at first but later admitted to 18. I considered using the bar’s short-time room but opted for air-conditioning instead of fan. The price was the same – 700 pesos.

Marie was willing but not expert enough to wring a bullet from my aging pistol from the BJ that was my goal. Not even with some expert coaching. So I dragged on a condom and tried it the old-fashioned way. No luck. I really don’t like condoms, not even super thin Durex. Marie was worried that I would tell her mamasan that she hadn’t made me come. It really wasn’t her fault, though. I was reasonably content and there was still the night to come. So to speak.

In late afternoon, I called Dhylyn, another girl from DIA, and we agreed to meet for dinner at Margarita Station. When she showed, 15 minutes late, she wasn’t as pretty as I hoped, and she had a pudgy roll around her middle when she sat. I knew I wasn’t going to keep her.

But, in truth, I liked Dhylyn. She is open, frank, easy to talk to. We established over dinner that she wasn’t coming back to my room. (Drat.) Toward the end of our conversation, I told her that I had been a good boy for two days – technically true – and was going to be a bad boy that night. She accepted that easily. I sent her home, paying for the ride.

Time for a bar crawl – about time, some would say. I started out around 9 p. M. , trolled down Fields almost to MacArthur and back, checking the strolling players. I could have caught a fish had I wanted to. The rain had let up, and Fields was a pretty as it gets. I went into La Pasha to ask after a mamasan that is a friend of my wingman from the last trip to Thailand and Cambodia. But she was not working Tuesday night. There were, however, several cute dancers and waitresses. Three of the latter hung out at my table and let me know they were available, too. Two of the dancers were also trying to hook me. I was tempted, but what kind of a bar crawl is a one-bar night?

I left and walked down Fields again, saw the Bed Rock and remembered someone had praised it. I went in and got another beer. A dancer on the stool across my little table with cute little braces was interesting and interested, but she had to leave for pole duty before we could strike up a conversation. We exchanged smiles while she "danced", even over the shoulder of a dancer who had just come down and whom the mamasan placed in front of me. Facing me.

She was cute and, after a while, I offered to buy her a drink if it was a real one. She had a tequila shooter. The waitress asked me if I would like a body shot. I’d heard of it but wasn’t clear on the concept. She explained that I would put lime and salt on the girl’s nipples, knock back my shot, and chase it by sucking the girl’s tits. Well, why not? Shy little me in the big city.

The girl – Lyn – unfastened her bra in front of god and country and let me apply lime and salt to her prominent brown nipples. Tossing the tequila, I cleaned them thoroughly, but had to come up for air eventually. We had another drink and I paid her barfine – 1350 pesos. Lyn had been working the bar for two weeks and I was her first barfine.

That seemed like a good idea at the time, but in restrospect was not. I want experience, not an amateur. Lyn, for example, had never had a lollipop in her mouth. When she refused even to try, I told her to get dressed and we’d go back to the bar. That changed her mind, but she wasn’t up to the task. She bobbed a few times, gagged, asked for water. I convinced her to watch a video that I "just happened to have along" with point-of-view pole gobbling, and she watched it carefully while I cuddled her from behind and let my hands roam. But when she tried again later, there was no great improvement.

When I gave up and rolled her onto her back, I found she was teeny-tiny. Her own juices and some Astroglide finally got me in, but it took at least a long minute for full penetration. She kept her legs too low, which made it hard to get in. Finally, the bolt went home. We both romped for a very long time but – again – I couldn’t unload the gun.

We slept for a few hours and woke again around 5 am for another session. She was juicy and willing. We bonked and bonked and bonked, but once again I couldn’t get to the finish line. If you’re tired of hearing this, imagine how I felt. But I can’t really complain much because it was lots of fun. If I came it would be over, whereas I usually last a long time before giving up. Still, I don’t want to build a mental block where I’m watching over my own shoulder and wondering if I’ll be able to do it THIS time.

Lyn left at 7 a. M. She had originally promised noon but her mamasan reminded her that she had to report for health check at 9. In the bar the previous night, I had barely had enough to cover the bill and barfine. Now I realized that I had nothing but large bills. I wasn’t going to give her a 500-peso tip. I gave her my sole 20-p note and a 5-dollar bill. She wasn’t very happy but neither was I.

Sitting in the Pacific Breeze restaurant writing this, I can’t help but notice that there are several fat, ugly men with pretty ladies here. Why am I alone and scribbling?

Tonight I’ll go back to La Pasha to try to connect with the mamasan again. And maybe take one of those dancers.

Destitute Filipino mother kills children. 1/3 filipinos < $1 a day

Police in the Philippines say poverty appears to have driven a jobless woman to kill her three young children by giving them toilet cleaner to drink before she killed herself the same way.

Senior Superintendent Raul Sandoval said the children, aged from two to four, died before reaching hospital, while their 32-year-old mother died while being treated.

He said the woman, Janeth Ponce, left a suicide note in her one-room shack in northern Laguna province's Magdalena township.

She asked relatives to forgive her and care for her seven-year-old son who was sleeping in his grandmother's house at the time of the incident.

Police said her husband, a construction worker in Manila, had not sent money for a month.

One third of 90 million Filipinos live below the poverty line of $US1 ($A1.25) a day.

    PI Jobs

Most of the people I know who work here for Western salaries work for contractors, myself included. There's a lot of donor money coming into the country for everything from health care, to education, to infrastructure, agriculture, governance reform and fiscal reform. Virtually all of the programs and projects funded by donors are managed by expatriate experts, supported by local experts. Donor agencies such as Canadian CIDA, JICA (Japan), USAID, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank award contracts to foreign contractors to manage these projects and the foreign contractors put together the technical assistance teams as part of their bids.

All of the donor agencies maintain websites that will tell you what projects/programs they're funding, what they intend to fund and which contractors have won which contracts. For guys interested in pursuing this route, it's a relatively easy matter to send CVs to contractors and those bidding for contracts to see if they're interested in including your CV in their bids.

The problem is that if you've never done this sort of work before, it can be difficult--but not impossible--to find a company willing to take a risk on someone who has never worked in the development fields.

It goes back to the old saying, "It's not what you know, but who you know". I am working here in the Philippines for a western salary, thanks to a visit here last year and meeting the right person. I didn't look for a job here; they called me and asked if I wanted to work here.

I have a friend who was with me in July, in a hotel lobby bar and we met an expat, and in the course of conversation, found out that he was also a contractor. From that meeting, two weeks later, my friend was offered a great job.

My point in this post is: IMHO every time you meet someone, you could be meeting someone who can change your life, so always display your best attitude and appearance.

When you get the job, you can hire me, I will work for cheap! (cheap compared to USA wages).

Unfortunately, I think you will have a difficult time finding work, especially work that will pay decent anything close to what you would make elsewhere. I would love to find a job in the PI that paid decent and that would allow me to stay there for a year also.

I have been looking into jobs in Singapore. Figure I could work there and fly in a my GF or GFs to stay with me for a couple of weeks. Pinays can visit there for 30 days I believe. The airfare is not that much. I found it very difficult for a foreigner to find a job there, unless you have a skill that is very high demand, they are required to hire locally.

I just started to look at Hong Kong. you can fly round trip to the PI for around $100 usd on Tiger airlines.

    my fan club?

I disagree with things that need to be disagreed with. I challenge posts that have false or overgeneralized information. I try to take myself way back to the time me when I was a newcomer in the Philippines - would this info be useful to a newcomer? Would it be misleading or confusing? I'm especially uncomfortable when people post absolute instructions or advice without giving information, nor ancedotes, to justify their opinions/advice.

The post below is another good example. I did not "attack" IGO, I disagreed with the information he provided and suggested an alternative. Disagreeing or challenging information is far different than "attacking" someone.

Anyway, I took a quick read of Igo's 28 posts on ISG, extending back one year. In the beginning he asks for advice, laters agrees with a lot of people, but doesn't seem to have any substantial field reports. This is fact, not an attack. I once again suggest that he post his own ancedotes about his experiences with Net / chat gals. Apparently he isn't reading my posts, so I hope this post reaches him indrectly.

Igo's post below points out an important piece of info. Chat/ net ladies may take more time (esp. pre trip). Lots of good advice is in the thread dedicated to this endeavor, and Robbaf sums up a few points that I agree with earlier in this exchange. There are also posts from people who have some negative things to say about the chat woman route.

I think if you read my post closely, I am just giving my humble opinion (maybe I should have spelled out IMHO). I was trying to share some advice for those who are perhaps planning a trip to the Phil that it is not necessary to set up a bunch of contacts before hand. Again, if you do have the time an inclination, go for it. But some of us have full time jobs and don't have much free time when preparing for a trip.

As for you X, I have long tired of the way you attack members here who make valuable contributions. Now that you have made an unprovoked attack on me, you will now have the honour of being the only member on my "ignore" list. You can therefore expect no further comment from me.

    Cheers and happy pooning!

September Road Trip, Part 9 - Cebu and Brenda

Brenda was the first of my pre-arranged girls from DateInAsia. She was waiting for me at the airport when my flight from Davao landed at Mactan. We had lunch together at a seafood restaurant near the Lapu Lapu monument park. I remembered the restaurant from a previous visit. The food was fresh – we made our choices before going up to the third floor dining room – but the romantic view over the tide pools was somewhat spoiled because the tide was out. Our view was of mucky mud and boats and building on stilts.

Brenda was shy at first. In fact, I asked for a kiss on the cheek in the cab and she informed me she didn’t like to kiss. It had me wondering if this was going to work out. But that turned out to be an exaggeration. She was not particularly kissy, but she was certainly fucky. And, in fact, once the action got going, she kissed pretty good.

The room was cold, and she was wearing a halter top, so we watched music tv from the bed and pulled the blanket over our fully-clothed bodies. Then we snuggled to keep warm, and I nibbled her neck for something to do. Things got hot before long. It was a slow process to be sure, almost a seduction, but I didn’t mind taking my time, and Brenda never stopped me. I could have had her long before I did. I preferred to drive her crazy. I ate her (shaved except for a little fur hat) and then got the Pocket Rocket out of my kit, which sent her flying over the edge. Brenda was the first girl in my experience to begin touching herself so soon. Her fingers went right for her greedy little box. When I brought out the Rocket, she let me fumble around for a while, then took over and put it right where she wanted it.

I used a condom at first for the main event, and we went on forever. She came but I couldn’t. I pulled it off for Round 2, but finished on her stomach. And her arm and shoulder.

We went to dinner in Midtown’s restaurant, which I found overpriced. We came back and went to bed "to sleep. " It didn’t work out that way. Oh my.

On the whole, Brenda was worth the time and money. I gave her 1000 pesos, bought shampoo, photo prints, a small teddy bear, miscellaneous meals. She’s not a keeper though. For one thing, she’s going to Malaysia as soon as she gets the passport and passage worked out. Her English is pretty limited, her appreciation of my with was lacking, her head is too empty, her devotion to tv and music to all-pervading. And she was not the prettiest girl I’ve had. But, she was pretty enough to get my juices flowing, with a nice, tight figure, and once she let loose, a firecracker in bed. She wanted it as much as I did, and that was what the doctor ordered.

I don’t like the Cebu Midtown and won’t stay there again. The room was nice enough but more expensive than it’s worth, even with the breakfast buffet thrown in. The restaurant is overpriced, and Brenda’s Filipino dish had meat too tough to cut with spoon and fork. WiFi is available only in the lobby – not very private – and it cost 100 pesos per hour, compared to 35 pesos a few floors below in Robinson’s center.

Fuente Osmena is generally lacking in attractions. It’s close to the Silver Dollar and the Mango Avenue bars, and street girls are available around the circle. Just sit at McDonald’s after 9 pm and watch them stroll by. That would be the main reason for staying there. Other hotels have been recommended and I’ll try one of them next time. For a one-night layover, I should have stayed on Mactan.

As I write this, I’m in the air on the way to Clark Field and Angeles City to meet Nenita, another DIA doll. Have to drop some Vitamin C as soon as I get there. Cebu Pacific, in their collective wisdom, took off half an hour early. I guess the plane and all the passengers had checked in. No doubt my hotel pickup will be screwed up because of it.

September Road Trip, Part 8 - Davao Wrapup

This is a surprisingly clean city. People are polite and friendly. It’s safe to walk around, at least anywhere a tourist is likely to go. The mayor is famously – notoriously – tough on crime. Anti-smoking laws have come to Davao, and it is banned nearly everywhere indoors.

P4P is available but not in your face. There are lots of pretty girls around. Davao is a college town, and some students are looking for tuition money. While I was there, evening rain slowed the outdoors action, but there were some corners downtown where girls were waiting. The best clubs of the Burgos/Angeles type are Hot Legs 1, 2 and 3, with raunchy shows in the later hours. They are expensive but a friend assures me you can get phone numbers and meet girls outside working hours. There are also several bar clusters such as Club 183, Auto Shop and The Venue. I’m old – 64 – but I still got plenty of smiles. If I were 20 years younger, I would have been in hog heaven. As it was, I got my share and could have had more if the body had been willing.

I stayed at Casa Leticia on J. Camus Street just north of the Apo View. The room was clean and well-equipped but not large for a superior deluxe. Everything worked but sometimes needed some help, like the toilet that required me to hold the handle for about 30 seconds to dispose of everything and the sink stopper that had to be flipped from underneath. WiFi was available but not always in my third-floor room. It was strong and fast on the second floor and in the lobby and restaurant. A good breakfast was available and included. I had the American breakfast with eggs, toast and choice of ham, bacon or corned beef. I tried all three and they were good. The cook managed to make eggs over easy right two days out of three. Lunch and dinner menu was limited but everything I tried was good and fairly priced. Even the toasted cheese sandwich – a grilled hot dog bun that made me laugh – was tasty.

I totally agree. Why bother with the risk of purchasing soemrthing in the Philippines when you can rent. If you have extra capital floating around, just invest it in something more secure.
