About 3,000 P for gear, boat, sanctuary fee and dive guide. Visibility and weather was awesome yesterday, but trigger fish are in attack mode biting at ears. One dive guide lost an ear according to dive master.

Mango Square has gone the way of Rio's HELP (and so many other great freelancer venues). Cebu has never been in the same league as AC if value P4P is your objective. It is still much nicer, but traffic is getting really bad especially between Mactan and Cebu.

The dating sites and facebook are much more lucrative than AC methods (gogos and discos) in Cebu. Hell, that is true not just in Cebu but most everywhere outside AC.

I got to be honest. It's kinda expensive and you might think that I'm a fool for doing it But oh well who cares. It's 2500 for 90 min. They send you a pic of who's available and it takes her about 30 min. Depending on where you are.

I got to say. It was the best. She knew what she's doing and what she does is amazing to say the least.

I recommend you try it once you're there. You won't regret it. I picked a girl named Mel.
Website was interesting, but I talked with then and they let me understand that for a full service is 2. 5 k+2. 5 k tip for a total of 5 k, too much for me.

Get an offer from DIA by a skinny looker, great girl, for 3. 5 k LT /2 pop after small negotiation. Glad to have accepted that offer.

    1st Cebu Visit

I have been in Cebu for 2 nights. Still have one more night.

Based on reading the forum and generous guidance and assistance of Wicked Roger, I decided to stay at Quest Hotel in Ayala. Very happy with the hotel and location.

I have walked the mall and been approached by a few FL's. They did not turn me on.

First night I flew in I met up with a referral / introduction by Wicked Roger. Nice girl with no drama. Thanks WR!

Second night, I went to LIV. It was dead. Possibly because it was a Wednesday night. At recommendation of taxi driver I then visited Octagon which was hopping. On it's logo it mentions it is basically the new JAve. Arrived at 12:30. Crowd was Koreans and FL's. I hung out and drank with the few non Koreans.

Ended up pulling someone very late in the night. The place still had many options available. I made a bad choice. This happens to all of us. FL's are total hit or miss. This was a miss.

I have a flight early tomorrow to AC. You can not compare Cebu to AC. AC has one thing only. Cebu is a city with plenty of opportunity. If I had time and patience, I am sure I can meet much higher quality women than AC. No doubt.

But any saving in time of navigating through Mandaue to the current bridges might be lost in navigating from Cordova to the airport. Cordova just seems an odd place to connect to on Mactan given the distance from Lapu Lapu city and the airport.
I agree Ms A. But then Cordova was slated as the location for a new airport. All politics of course, no real sense behind it IMHO. Is one of the poorer parts of Cebu (I know I have been there) and is a pain to get to and drive around. But any progress is better than none in Cebu.

Intellectual conversation can be difficult to find but there are many cebuanas that fit the bill. Try hanging around IT Park and it's many coffee shops and eateries. Most call center employees have superior english skills and like to converse.

Looking forward to your KTV report! Cheers!
Looking back on the 18 days here, it got progressively much better as I got into the swing of opening conversations (in Cebu, the guy always has to open), I think I was a bit slow off the mark but met some cool locals at Liv Superclub and from there on it was a much better experience going out in groups. Liv is hopping from Thursday onwards (get a table on weekends and you will be in a good position to talk to everyone - 3 k consumable), and the more educated crowd goes there and I recommend it. Like a smaller version of the Fort Bonifacio clubs on the weekend. Lots of ladyboys though, so watch out. I was holding hands with a ladyboy (was so convincing and beautiful) at Liv for a couple of minutes until I realised something was wrong (and I thought my gaydar was finely tuned. Obviously not). I think I will be back to Cebu (I've changed my mind) as the people here are quite genuine and nice. I would avoid the Korean dominated clubs like Octagon though (attitude sucks). Yes IT Park is pretty cool (Sugbo Mercado is a good place to hangout on the weekends. Live music / food. There is potential to chat up girls there).

Sorry I didn't make it to any KTVs in the end.

    GWA Out.

Comparison to Manila: Cebu is not as good as Manila for girls. Education level / English skills / Banter / Basic Intelligence is much higher in Makati.

    Cebu observations

Have been in Cebu for around 2 weeks and 9 days to go before going back to APD (Australian Pussy Desert).

Mango Bikini bars: There were at least 1 or 2 decent looking girls in each bar, my favourites were BGs, Vikings, Sisters and the place next to Love City. There is a lot of pressure to buy LDs at all bars, as soon as you walk in you will get hounded by around 4 mediocre girls at least, and after 1 minute of the usual questions (where are you from, etc), you will be asked buy LDs. After fighting them off, you can assess the quality and decide who you want to talk to. I did not discuss barfines but spent at least 4 nights barhopping all the bars and chatting to girls I found a little bit attractive. You can certainly exchange numbers / FB in the bars, and arrange to meet them after their shift (this worked quite well for me). Got sick of the boring conversation of 95% of the girls. Settled on 1 attractive girl who was the right combination of sexy face / body and tolerably interesting personality. She came to meet me several times and became a steady GF of sorts. To be honest, I couldn't be bothered trying to replace her, as the boredom of meeting and talking to new Cebu girls was definitely an issue (compared to Makati).

Internet Dating: Met 2 girls, 1 from DIA and 1 from FC. It's certainly possible to hook up from the dating sites, but I didn't find the conversations with these girls stimulating at all. All in all, I gave up after a few days of internet dating. The mango bars were more interesting.

Mango Square bars: The bar called Hype was good, mainly Filipino crowd and a happy environment. Always a few freelancers around, and freebies to be had as well. All in all, I quite enjoyed this place, and hooked up once with a freebie too (she had enough of her own money apparently). Met a group of freelancers that were always doing the rounds. Got to know their friends and in the end it was good to make connections. Upstairs from the escalator is another interesting place, Club Holic. Also mainly Filipino place, but if you are friendly and approach with some interesting conversation, it pays dividends.

Oqtagon: Infested with Korean student types. Plenty of girls trying to look Korean / act Korean frequent this place. Mixed experience here. Girls English skills and general level of intelligent conversation was at an all time low. When girls focus on hanging out with the K Crowd, it seems that they lose further IQ points than what they started with. A bit disappointing.

Club Lotus: Similar to Oqtagon. Ear splitting music levels.

Next on my list are the Japanese KTV bars, I know they are expensive but might provide a change of pace and a new experience.

Comparison to Manila: Cebu is not as good as Manila for girls. Education level / English skills / Banter / Basic Intelligence is much higher in Makati. I met a lot of tolerably interesting and gorgeous ladies at several bars in Makati / Malate. Places like Café Havana, Club Royal, Exklusiv, had much better girls than what I have experienced in Cebu. The pub crawls in Manila were a goldmine and unearthed girls who I was happy to talk to / get to know even in a platonic way. I haven't been able to find this in Cebu. I'm sure there is something going for Cebu nightlife, but it is not to my tastes and haven't been able to find it yet.

My main goal is of course hooking up with beautiful women, but maybe also hope to get some diving in. I have heard that Mactan is just ok for diving but it might be worth a try. My question is: what is Mactan like? Is it a good place for girly bars? Internet hook-ups? (I. E. , will girls from Cebu be willing to come to Mactan; are there plenty of internet girls already in Mactan?) If Mactan is not so good for girly action, is it reasonable to commute from Mactan to Cebu City at night, or is it too far?

If Mactan has some decent girly action, I will probably stay there. If not, I will probably stay in Mango square area. I only have 3-4 days, so I would rather book a hotel in one place or the other rather than have the hassle of checking out and moving to another hotel after a day or two. I have RTFF and have some idea about Mactan, but would appreciate any additional insights from those who have relevant experience.

    Cheers and happy mongering.

For 3-4 days I would stay Ayala IE in the centre. Mactan is not far but given the awful traffic and bad roads coupled with roadwroks, it makes the trip to the city very long and sweaty at times. My best Ayala to Mactan was 40 minutes on a Sunday morning with roadworks, my worst 2+ hours (either way). If you only have a few days stay in one place as plenty cuties in the centre. Once had a girl ceom from Mactan to me and took her 3 hrs but very likely a mix of traffic and pinay time issues. Girls may come no issue but are you ready for the delays?

For diving? Those I know go further afield (Moaboal, Bantayan). The beach resorts in Mactan are nice but very expensive so be warned.

If Mango then you are close to the clubs, bars etc and could try others nearby where there are plenty of FLs but don't pick FLs from the street IMHO as some are set ups etc and also watch your pockets there at night.

    Have fun.
