I'm well aware that it's better to pre-pay the baggage fee online when booking a domestic flight on CP. However my advice was geared towards the OP who already bought his ticket. All CP ticket prices reflect 'Travel Lite' fares, with adding checked baggage an option. Then again maybe the OP didn't even book with CP LOL.

Good thing I fly PAL a lot with complimentary extra baggage allowance.

two weeks in cebu?

I've never been to Cebu. When flight from MNL to Cebu went on sale last month, I bought it for $100. It's a 2-week stay. Now that I've spent some time RTFF, I am not getting a warm & fuzzy. If my main objective is mongering, should I stick with my plan? Or should I tear up the plane ticket and stay in MNL instead? Help me out please.

Since you already booked your flight to Cebu I would visit, and if for whatever reason you don't like it you can just head to the PAL / CP ticket office and change your flight and leave early. I can't tell you if you will like Cebu or not because everyone is different and what you like someone else might not enjoy, that's why YMMV is something you will hear me say often.

As Sammon posted Cebu is more known for GFE online hookups and less about pure p4 p, although if you want p4 p there's enough of it to go around, just don't expect the volume of Manila or AC.

About your ticket, $100 USD is roughly around 4000 php return and that's not much of a sale price, although domestic ticket prices have increased a lot over the past couple of years due to more locals flying instead of taking the ferry. That's more like the actual price for an economy ticket MNL-Cebu round trip. Promo prices are usually under 1000 php one way. Just pay close attention to your baggage allowances and you will be ok. If Cebu is worthwhile, can someone reccomend a place / area where BF are less than 2000 p? Lastly is it just the barfine for the girl or do I have to pay extra after leaving the bar?

As D33 posted, stay in AC. Cebu is more expensive and while there is P4 P available in Cebu, it doesn't compare (price not quality) to some of the lower budget options you can find around the AC perimeter bars.

Stay in AC and spend the 3000-5000 php you would of spent for a flight to Cebu on barfines and debauchery!

Although I love the new Terraces section of Ayala, I really miss the Ratzkeys club that disappeared during the changes. I think there is one restaurant / bar on the upper floors that has a band.

My favorite restaurant was Lemon Grass, but last visit it seemed to always be crowded. I guess word gets around. Canvas is nice if you need that other kind of meat. TGIF is good for cold beer and the interesting photo opportunity of your date with life size replica of Superman. Also like the outdoor seating. You can get some good coffee and even breakfast at Bo's. Who needs Starbucks.

BTW, The one freelancer I took from Ayala was a disaster. I'm much more likely to take a gal to Ayala than to search for one there. My next visit will be mid August.

Lemongrass is popular as the food is good and value for money but I venture outside Ayala a lot more (see restaurant thread for other good ideas). This topic has been done to death and I have been asked via PM my views on where to get a good massage (usually with a happy endings.
