I would say there are some real bottom layers of hell places like this. On the plus side, there would be no rich Koreans Is there much of a scene out in the sticks? I'd like to try safe places.

Try spending some time in the UAE or Qatar and visit the labour camps. Lots of PRC (Chinese) WGs visit and get paid by volume, using just a wet wipe in between the customers. Sometime the who dormitory watches and sometime there is some privacy. Makes no difference as it is very grim and horrible.

At least here the PRC WGs get to see a vessel and ocean rather some very sweaty smelly over crowed dormitory LOL.

Well, it looks like the wharf rats are not the only creatures climbing aboard banana boats via the mooring lines. It must be quite a spectacular sight to see the Akyat Barko girls swarming up the mooring lines of recently arrived banana freighters to peddle their pussies to the lecherous crew. Sikatoy should be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its peculiar culture. That would really make the terrorist shithole that is Davao worth a visit.

These types of places are peppered all though the sealanes of Asia. Not the PI, but I worked for a while at a place upriver where 90% of resupply was via tug and barge. Occassionally, parts would be urgently needed so additional tugs would be attached, over time paid, additional hands would be put on board, all at great expense, to get the item (s) delivered ASAP.

Every voyage, said barge would make very good time up until a little blue shack on a bend in the river and mysteriously break down for a few hours then set off again at full speed. EVERY TIME. 😁.

Well, it looks like the wharf rats are not the only creatures climbing aboard banana boats via the mooring lines. Based on GE's recommendations, I have just booked a trip to his fine city. CRK-DVO-MNL on a cheap Cebu Pacific ticket. If I don't get blown up at the market square / bus station / airport / Jollibee Downtown, I will send in a field report.

There have been a couple of days of heavy rain, and there are some areas of the city that consistently flood. Drainage has been significantly improved throughout most of the city, and for the most part, it's dry with zero flooding.
