Spam Hog, thank you for your thoughtful, well-written appeal to all of us. You make a very good point about overreactions that could boomerang on us all. I think most of us here share your wish for a Davao thread that has useful exchange of information where all the members respect each other. I wish it were a matter as simple as "Now you boys be nice to each other." Unfortunately, experience has shown that this isn't the case.

A case in point: Since your attempt at peacemaking we've seen a conciliatory post by Cebu Local. We've also seen a lot of hate spewed out by Dragon Slayer. First, there was a general 'they're all losers' kind of post. Now he's throwing barbs in Henny's direction, a guy that has everybody's respect here.

So it's plain to see that DS aims to continue his antagonizing regardless of whether anyone responds to it or not. To be fair, this Billy Ibrox (who is probably a transitory troll or a long-term member hiding behind a new name) is pushing his buttons a bit. But anyone who says that we should just ignore him should remember the days of his feud with GoodEnough. GoodEnough hardly ever responded, but the board was subjected with endless attacks on GE for more than a year. Also, most recently I've been in South America minding my own business and enjoying the ladies here. I hadn't posted here or thought of here for over 2 months. Apparently, DS considered this an intolerable provocation. He launched into a 3 paragraph rant about stuff that happened years ago. Then, in an example of his twisted logic, he accuses me of 'not being able to let go.' He also slammed Cebu Local after a relatively innocuous post about going to Shanghai. Such unprovoked attacks by Dragon Slayer are too numerous to mention.

Members like X Man, Cebu Local, myself and most of the others who get mixed up here travel a lot and post useful information. We all meet other forum members frequently and get along with almost all of those we meet. But we do have in common the one guy we don't get along with. We aren't the ones who need to cease fire. We often go quiet for long periods while this guy whines about people incessantly. In other words, the stink mainly emmanates from one place. If the emmanator would stop emmanating all of this would die down right away.

I'm at a business lounge computer so I have to run for now. But I just throw open to all the members the question of what we should do about this. Dragon Slayer has earned the label Serial Anatagonist several times over. The list of members he has tangled with here is too long to even begin with for now. Perhaps it's way overdue for a 'Dragon Slayer in the Philippines' thread. There he could hate away to his heart's content and when the rest of us get bored we could look in on him from time to time. I'm open to any constructive ideas.

As usual, foreigners were portrayed as dirty, lecherous swine lusting over frail Filipinas (not mentioning they are separated by several thousand miles). Oh my God! Foreigners are looking at naked Filipinas on the Internet!

On the same day how many desperate, broke Filipinas are gang-banged by drunken Filipinos for centavos? Yet everyone is worked up into a frenzy over the Internet, which represents a huge improvement in working conditions for the typical Filipina sex worker. I know most of the Davao crowd personally, I like to think Im on good terms with all of them, interesting bunch of guys and I enjoy the ribald,semen flecked adventers of all who post here. But all this bickering??? And things are sounding serious here, lighten up!

Time for a story:
When I was an adolecent growing up in rural Pennsylvania circa early sixties I would go out in the "back 40" and build tree houses or cabins, having a secret cabin was COOL, it was a place where you and your friends could go hide from your parents, talk, loaf, but MOST importantly, look at and stash all your dirty books and if your were real cool, cigarettes. But you had to be careful, if somebodies older sister found out she would go running to Mom and tattle. "Those boys are up there smoking cirgarettes and looking at playboys again MOM!" But the real danger was from the older, bigger kids who would come by and steal all your dirty books, cigarettes and wreck the place and maybe kick your ass for not telling them. So you had to be careful who you said what to about the tree house.

Fastforward 42 years and here we have our own club house, complete with dirty pictures and dirty stories from around the world. A place to meet and bullshit, entertain and be entertained as well as learn and teach... BUT we gotta keep it kinda secret, MOM can't do nothing anymore but Big Sis is now some wacko organization like Gabriella or womens rights which abhores prostiution and male chauvanism in any form and they are running around the Phils and other Asian countries where mongers tread and VERY interested in what you do so maybe they can get you on some kind of "Sex tourism" rap.

Enter the "Big Kids" like US justice dept and all those in agencies in other countries changed with the enforcement of the UN's (May they burn in Hell) enforcement edicts. The article dealt with the reaction of the chinese press and local citizenry to the published report of a "Blog" dedicated to finding, seducing and having sex with Chinese women, the article stated that the blog was run by "foreigners" and had many derogatory things to say about chinese women, mocked chinese men and often published pictures of the women nude or partically clothed. Several "online monikers" were quoted and the local Law enfordcment announced it had launched an investigation intot he matter to have those respobsible expelled if in China or blacklisted if not, to much cheerleading from various Chinese sources who named the Foreigners "scoundrels" and such, in short, if these guys are ever identified heads are gonna roll. I thought the might be talking about ISG but from the giost of the article I dont think it was.

Now I was gonna post something about it, warning all of you who venture to that Celesial land but I got wrapped up in my preparation to Visit Honk Kong Macao so It feel along the wayside.

Point is, whatever personal crap we might have against varios personalities from time to time, it is NOT worth getting so upset we have to wreck the secret tree house.

I've been following the Slayers rantings about cheapskates on the Davao board for a while now. First, he blamed Mahku for this; now its Xman and CL. There seems to be a pattern forming.

Look, I met Mahku recently in Lima Peru, and cheapskate he's definitely not. There was an election going on that weekend and all sales of alcohol were banned, except, as it was explaind to me, in hotels with foreigners; in my case, the Marriott. Mahku and I and another guy consumed several of the hotel's mediocre wine at $50+ a bottle. Mahku paid more than his share. So lets put that 'cheapskate' bullshit to rest right now.

Now I like a good fight as much as the next guy, maybe more than most :), but it has to be fun. The PI isn't like Thailand with a million mongers present at any given time. PI mongers are a small group whose paths will eventually cross. Its ludicrous to fight like this.

I have been thinking about going to the philipines to visit her, but I hear a lot of bad stuff about mindanao and the muslim rebels. So if you could help me with some information about cagayan de oro. Is it safe to go there and what should a first time visitor be aware of going to the Philipines.
