KG, keep in mind, while he does have a very good menu, that he is also happy to accommodate reasonable requests. If he has the ingredients etc he will do his best to fulfill what you have asked for.

    Enjoy. G.

I really miss a good roast beef, how with mashed potatoes, gravy and veggies or cold in a rye bread sandwich with hot mustard.

This is a good restaurant Nightrider. Have eaten here before (with GE some times) and never been disappointed. Am not an alcohol lover so ant vouch g=for the wine list except it looked good. But the food is tasty and the steaks excellent.

Yeah nah. There are grown men on this forum (geriatrics actually), that go running off to the Moderator, bawling their eyes out, because their feelings are hurt. That's what irritates me. And using censorship as a weapon to silence opposing views. No wonder this forum is going to the dogs.

Yes, the owner has been a close friend for years. In my opinion, DBK has the best steaks in Davao, and it's the only place I know of in which to get a real baked potato. The menu is huge and varied and the emphasis is on well-prepared Western comfort-type food. For those who might have difficulty finding the place, it's on Rizal St diagonally across the street from a Metrobank.

+1 on the good food and atmosphere.

Heading back to the Peoples Park area there are also several massage shops that will help you work of the additional calories 😁.

    Enjoy. G.

Instead of dobbing people in all the time to the moderator, can we please just let the conversation flow? This censoring of posts because they offer another view is all rather childish. That's what the MSM and the Democrats do.

This was not my first trip to Davao, and I am fairly well travelled, so honestly, I had no expectations as to what should have happened.

What I asked at the front desk, is what should have happened, and they told me what they do in the event of a quake. They failed to follow their own procedures.

So, now I know what to do.

Also, my day job, is very much linked to People not doing what they should be doing. So I am a bit of a Process Geek, Troubleshooter, and Coach.

Glad to head DS's children have been looked after.

    GE,

Glad to hear the kids got taken care of. I am sure some kind people had to do the leg work for them and advance funds on their behalf.

What was more concerning was the 6. 5 quake that morning, as we were on the 15th Floor, the building shaked a lot, with a lot of swaying.

My GF who lives in Davao, was very scared, I was not.

We relaxed a bit, and then I looked out of the window, to see that the Security Guards had locked down access to the hotel, and with a few more light wobbles I decided to evacuate down the stairs.

What followed is a completely unacceptable discovery that the Earthquake response at the MP, failed in potentially very serious ways.

There was no Alarm, there was no Voice Evacuation message, there was no phone call to the room. There should have been.

I had a couple of conversations with the Front Desk over this, and to be honest, I probably would not return to the MP, they failed in their duty to alert guests in my view.

Also, as an aside, there was a Siren test at the resort we stayed at in Cebu. We were outside at the pool when the test was supposed to occur, never heard that also.

There have been quite a few significant quakes in Davao recently. Perhaps signs the Volcano may be waking.

Most workers are on 6 months contracts and back out on the streets looking for a new job. Employers do not bother training staff. They would have to train new staff members every 6 months.

Disaster plans? Yes, everyone is on their own.

If you find yourself out the 6th story window looking for fire truck hook and ladder? Better to start tying bed sheet together for at least 5 stories!
