    Goodenough,

It is great knowing that you are enjoying Davao City. I know I had in the past. Being in the southern island has some merits like less tourist and a field of less experienced girls compared to Manila or Angeles City. Plus Davao does have quite a bit of universities and colleges. Meaning that there are some female students that are finding a way to make that tuition. Some of these southern young students really know how to give a good GFE.

I hope that I get an assignment again for Davao but lately my work brings me only to Cagayan de Oro City, Butuan City and Surigao City. With the damages from the last heavy rain, it looks like I'll be back there in a couple of days again after New Year. Maybe we can hook up when I get down there. It would be nice to hang around with some fellow 'puti'. You can cover the southern part of the island and I'll cover the northern part.

Enjoy your stay and have a wonderful and safe New Year. Oh,, a little tip for New Year. Stay in a solid place as it gets closer to midnight. Stray bullets are notorious in Mindanao from careless people that fire their weapons in the air.

    Cheers.

I'm not too sure why I'm bothering with this update since this page doesn't receive many visitors but I'm staying here for a long time and hope that this information will eventually prove useful to someone else. There's a small bar/pub/restaurant called O'Flannagan's that's located just off of Rizal street. It's a magnet for expatriate men, though does not attract many single women. However, it's an excellent place to drink and eat pub food and also to meet people who really know Davao and are not shy about sharing their knowledge of hot spots in town. Right next doot to the pub is a small coffee shop frequented by about ten university women who, I was told, are "in the game," though the asking price is said to be P3,000 (abouyt $50). I must admit that the chicks I saw were really good looking, and when I went inside for a cup of coffee, I found that they were very friendly. I did not however, follow up.

There's a relatively new bar at the Apo View Hotel, called Liquid. Someone spent a lot of money refurbishing the place, and it's crowded with couples. single women (semi-pros and those just lookiing for fun) on Friday and Saturday nights. The bartenders, all young women, are fine looking and wear skimpy tee shirts, and are no above flirting like crazy with the customers, though I don't know if they're available. Probably, if you're willing to wait until closing. Also visited another bar called Halo, which is in the same complex as the Venue, which is near the Marco Polo Hotel. It too was packed on a Saturday night, though most of the girls were in the 18-20 year old range.

WSG members don't seem terribly interested in this page, and I guess Davao doesn't attract many people. For those who may be interested though, I went to a place called The Venue last night for a party. It's a large (in fact cavernous) disco with two levels. The top level has a lot of pool tables as well as the normal bar tables and chairs. There seemed to be a lot of semi-pros there, just waiting to meet an expat, and I got a several smiles and come hither glances. I didn't take advantage as I already had plans for later in the evening, but I saw enough to make me consider a return visit.

I got into a taxi last night thinking that I would go to one of the clubs, and the taxi driver asked if I wanted to go somewhere new. He took me to a small street which contained what he called "dormitories" or "casas." In actuality, there were several smallish street stalls with open fronts, and each held about 10 or 12 women, of various ages, shapes and sizes, varrying, I would say from 4-8 on the beauty scale. The guy who ran the room where I finally stopped asked for P2,000 for the lady for the night and we compromised on 1,500. Had I been more patient, I think I could have gotten her for P1,000. The girls were friendly, and I think more than willing to make private arrangements for later meetings.

This is a good, no hassle alternative to the loud clubs and if you're here for more than one night, and lets you avoid the whole bar fine scene. I think if you ask any taxi driver for the street with the casas you can find it pretty easily.

Prior to this experience, I went with a friend to Rizal Street, which has a lot of open air restaurants and bars, with dozens of fairly young women and, alas, local men. They are not professionals, but I did buy a drink for one lady and got the impression that if I really worked at it and was patient, she would have come with me. I don't know because I didn't have the patience or the time, but it might be worth checking out if you have nothing better to do and/or enjoy a challenge.

    Pinay Lover:

The city is much better than I thought it would be, though I've not yet been to many places. Went back to Moonlight last night, and there were actually more girls there than I remembered. I have not yet picked up anyone off of the street though there's an ample number. What, if any, were your experiences in doing this?

    Goodenough,

Glad to know your doing fine down there and having a good time there for 10 days. What's your impression of Davao now? I myself was totally taken back by my misconceptions the first time. It is a nice city to visit. In time, it might rival Manila one day.

Yeah, the girls by the Square. Hmm. Reminds me of the time I picked up one of the SW plying their trade.

Have been in Davao for about ten days now and it's not bad. There is a fairly laid-back club here called Moonlight owned by a Filipina and her French husband. It's an attractive place with good blues and quiet jazz, a decent menu, and about 20 ladies. There's no pressure at all, but if you want to take one of the ladies, it costs P2,000 (about $35) which includes the payment for the girl and the bar fine.

Have also had some reasonably good luck at Circle in the Square which is up the road from Moonlight. The girls are spectacular, but the place is loud, and the manager is a real pain in the ass as he never stops pushing the customers to take one of the lovelies. On balance, Moonlight is the best place I've found so far.

As to the security situation here, Pinay Lover was right. There's no problem if you just keep a reasonably low profile.

    Goodenough,

Enjoy your trip, I know I did down there. Right now I'm enjoying my last day here in Cagayan de Oro. Not much to do for a night life except for dancing and drinking over here. Pickings are slim. Even my Honey Ko mentioned she noticed mostly college girls doing the rounds for their tuition fee and it is the college's semestral break right now.

I'll take you up on that drink offer one day. For now it looks like I'm heading back to Manila on Monday and back to work on Tuesday. Trying to maintain a steady girl and work seems to take a lot of my mongering time lately. But then Manila is a 24 hour town.

    Pinay:
Thanks for the tips. I think my office will probably put me in the hotel you mentioned. Don't think I'll be brining any entertainment with me, so I'll have to make out as well as I can on the local market. I'll let you know exactly when I'm going to be there once the trip is confirmed and, if you have time, maybe we can get together for a drink.

    Goodenough,

If you are a white or black American, heck, a foreigner, just keep a low profile. I do business down there if it can't be handled in Manila or Cebu. With the two recent bombings there earlier this year, one would go with caution. If you need a place to go I would recommend The Apo View Hotel. They are affordable ($40 to $200), secure and have a helpful business facility, too. Plus it is in the middle of the business district. There is also The Marco Polo but expensive. I haven't stayed in any of the pensionne houses or apartelles so I have no info on that. There is also a YMCA in the city.

You'll find Davao quite different than Manila, that's for sure. Except that you'll see more armed guards, police and military personnel, everywhere. For entertainment, there is the usual Casino Filipino, some disco & sports bars. But for action, just look out in front of The Apo Hotel and along Rizal and Magsaysay area. You'll find some girls (5's -7's) hanging around. Going rate was about P 350 (ST) to about P 1,000 (LT). Check out the STAG Bar. Friend brought me there but the BF are outrageous. A few massage parlours around. But you will find most of your action just outside your hotel.

After going there twice. I always try to bring a Honey Ko with me to keep me entertained. Pickings aren't that great. Yet.

I need to go there for a month or so in early November, and I've never been there. So if you guys find any good spots before the beginning of November, please post them.
