Yes, the US is, I guess, the only country in the world that's awash in vaccines, and yet vaccine resistance and outright rejection are obstacles to a more efficient rollout. It's difficult for me to understand, but then there's a lot about the country that I no longer understand, so I'll just add that to the list.

Because Big Pharma want us dependent upon their crap and all Western politicians are on the game or imbeciles or both. I have not taken the jab and I don't want to be in some stupid raffle. You must remember that the sheep here who go along to get along do so to look like they are smart, which they patently are not. Most folk I know got the jab. I know folk who got covid, some badly but so what? I don't need a diseased Pinay pussy carrot that much and I have a violent reaction to those who try the stick approach on me.

On a similar note, a few days ago here at a mall one morning, I saw a longggg line of people in the hallway. Young adults, elderly, Filipino and one foreigner. I asked a kiosk cashier lady why the folks were in line. "Covid vaccine sir. You can get". Really. Anyone? "Yes sir". Foreigner even? "Yes sir". I should go home and make an online appointment? "No sir. Just fall in line they will get your information. You have valid eye dee? Yes. Thanks sweetie, I need to shop.

I shopped for a shirt in the department store, about 20 minutes. When I came out, the line was down by 1/3, moving pretty quickly.

On a similar note yesterday I read an article about gluts of vaxxes available in the US. There was a picture of a pharmacy, with an employee in the parking lot near the street, waving traffic in. The large sign next to him said, like: "Free Covid Vaccines. We have Moderna and Pfizer, take your pic. Walk-ins welcome everyday".

Doesn't get much better than that.

The one further bit of good news with implications for your interests is that the mayor has basically opened the vaccinations to everyone over the age of 18. Supply shortage remains a bit of an issue, though Davao seems to be increasing its supply of vaccines. Thus, anyone in your preferred age range should be able to obtain at least a first dose relatively easily and the registration process is simple and efficient.

Fingers crossed it gets better, but even the situation at hand is pretty manageable when you put it that way. That said, a company in my industry had a pretty big outbreak of COVID in Davao and the local gov't seems to be taking it pretty seriously, so my main worry is having an office I can go into by the time I get done with quarantine in Manila, much less my LGU. I got vaccinated months ago at this point, so this is admittedly more about logistics and comfort than any actual danger to my being.

Well, RIP to Operation Visayas! That said, with the new updates I think we've securely established that one in the hand is worth any number in the Bush at the moment. Since I'm in Phils for work, I can't really risk earning the ire of the cops, so I'll have to keep on the straight and narrow so far as covid compliance is concerned. Going to make sure my follow-up visa is multiple entry though, so hopefully I'll at least have Phuket or Bali as an emergency release valve should they open as scheduled and measures get too draconian.

I'm not sure that anyone else on this site cares much about this topic, but I try to stay current on it as I live in Davao so it's in my self-interest to understand the day-to-day changes. As of today, I'm reasonably sure that Cebu is under a tighter quarantine than Davao, so you might want to re-think that. On the other hand, I have no idea how vigorously the rules are applied in Cebu. As I've said in other posts, in Davao, you violate the regs are your peril because the police do not appear to be fooling around with this. The good news is that for at least 6 days a week, travel around Davao and access to establishments is relatively easy. However, almost all retail establishments require presentation and scanning of the Davao QR code, for which anyone can register on line. If you're planning on coming to Davao, registering for the QR code is mandatory; it's also relatively painless and quick. I think your plan of sticking with a single woman is likely a better alternative than dipping into a constant stream of girls. It will be less noticeable and therefore more likely to fly.

Sage advice seems to be on focusing my energies towards finding one stunner and going through all the paperwork to allow her regular access to my home. The backup plan is still Cebu though, so we'll see how that works out.

Noted, so a second place in Davao is a no-go. Sounds like a secondary residence (which is in my budget) in Cebu might be the order of business. Slim pickings there as well according to BMs and colleagues alike, but sounds a lot more permissive than Davao.

If the situation is the same when you arrive, then it doesn't matter if you are in Cebu or Davao. You are going to be utilizing ST hotels. If you find a ST place that you like more than the others (they can be extremely dingy, dirty), you might want to find out the monthly rate, if they have one. Whether they have one or not, make them an offer that is fairly small for one month, see if they bite at that (times are hard, they might). Same goes for pensionne houses (some are half full or less). As an example, at one ST place, I used their standard 12-hour rate (they don't have an overnight or 24 hour rate, nor a weekly or monthly rate) to multiply times 2 (24 hours), then by 30 (monthly). It was ridiculously high considering the quality of the place, and area. I took that monthly rate and divided it by 3. I asked the front desk attendant if it was possible to rent one month at that rate. They have a locked, secured cashier room, and he checked with that attendant. They told me to come inquire at a later date (guessing they needed to inquire to the owner). I returned later and was approved. I didn't end up securing that deal (yet), I am still considering it. You get a bed, a nawty mirror on the wall, aircon, no TV, and a crappy cold-water shower that sprays the entire CR with water, for about $200 USD / month. You can waltz in / out with whoever you want. Small potatoes for you as your employer is paying for your digs? I made similar offers at other ST / pensionne places and was turned down(...)

Sounds like a shitty hill, but not bad enough to die on. I'd definitely pay more than that to have a room that doesn't visibly disgust me, but I've also banged in Bali X Houses so it's not like it's be the worst digs I've ever done the deed in. I am headed over regardless (exemptions have an expiry date), so one way or another I'll need to figure some sort of arrangement out. Ultimately I guess it'll have to suffice in the long term; beggars can't be choosers, and after 14 days of quarantine room quality will probably be a less compelling make-or-break metric.

In addition, to the extent that my community is any sort of archetype, the guards are very attentive and they do tend to question anyone whom they do not know.

At my previous residence. A sign at the front desk read: "Visitors allowed 8 am - 5 pm with valid eye dee". One morning I went down to the lobby to wait for my Lazada delivery. The driver had stopped by earlier in the morning to drop my package, but I was not there. He left a txt msg. When I saw it, I asked him to come right back with the package. Sitting in the comfy lobby chair, the elevator door opened, and a nicely quaffed and well-dressed mid-20's hottie stepped out and took a seat near me. A wow girl. I watched a snazzy lengthy car pull up in the drive. Thru the tinted front window I could see a professional driver, suit / tie. In the passenger seat another suit / tie guy. That guy stepped out and opened the rear door. From the car, another hottie, mid-20's, stepped out. Also getting out with her was another suit / tie guy, mid-30's. Her boyfie, or brother, maybe. As they approached the door guards, the condo hottie smiled and ran out the front door, the two hotties hugged and greeted. The suit / tie gent with her started to open the door so the ladies could come inside. But the guard held out a hand to stop that, and closed the door. They spoke, and I could not make out the conversation as they were outside. Some seriousness. The car hottie took a piece of paper from her purse and handed it to the guard. He opened it, and I could make out that it looked like an old police clearance eye dee, done on paper, with a black / white image of the girl. He handed it back to her and she put it away.

After a minute, I could hear the condo hottie say loudly: "Serious? Are you SERIOUS?" Apparently he was, as the front desk concierge (nice fella), went outside to listen in. The guard was talking to the car hottie boyfie. More unhappy discussion, with the guard and the concierge. Voices were climbing in volume from the condo hottie. Finally the condo hottie, the car hottie, and the boyfie got back in the car, and off it went. My package came shortly after and I thought little more of that as I went upstairs, showered, and was heading out for a walk to the mall. As I departed the elevator in the lobby and was headed to the door, the snazzy car pulled up again in front of the door. The front-seat guy opened the back door again. The three occupants got out of the car.

Hmmm. I took a seat just to watch. The car hottie handed the guard a laminated eye dee. He walked the eye dee and the three-person party to the front desk. The concierge looked over the eye dee and said "OK". The car hottie signed a guest registry. The girl held out her hand to take back the eye dee. Concierge: "We return it when you will leave". With that, the two ladies got on the elevator. The boyfie walked to near the couch and just stood there. I got up to leave. As the elevator doors closed, the concierge turned to his guards and said: "I don't care who her parents are. No one in without VALID eye dee. Naintinihan (understand)?" The guards nodded in the affirmative. The boyfie stared at the front desk staff from across the lobby, as if he was bored. Odd. I walked out the front door and made my way to the mall for lunch and a few shopping items.

Story not over. I taxi'd back from the mall to the condo. As required outside the condo door, a guard makes you sanitize your hands. As I was doing that I noticed inside the lobby, the boyfie was still standing, still looking at the front desk staff, a good 90 minutes later. I inquired of the condo guard: Why didn't the boyfie go upstairs with the two ladies? No eye dee? "No sir. He is private security. Bodyguard for the lady". Ah! Missed it completely.

The guards did the job correctly. Most working gals have some form of non-valid eye dee. Most of your working girls will not have a current valid eye dee. Valid eye dees, there are about 10 kinds, and all are laminated except the birth certificate. Social security, postal, Phil Health, driver's license, and so on. But all of those require other forms of valid eye dee, especially a valid original birth certificate, to obtain. Some of my girls don't have any such eye dee. Even if they have a birth certificate, often their names are not correct (mis-spelled, or switched middle / last name) and need to be fixed before using it to get a valid eye dee. I have found that eye dees that are on simple paper are often not accepted as a form of eye dee, just like the car hottie. Why in the world did she carry that eye dee and not also the valid eye dee?

Early last year in Manila, at a large condo in Makati, I walked one of my gals in. The guard took her eye dee (both clearly a fake, poorly-laminated valid-type eye dee, and the pic was clearly of another woman) and had her sign the registry. The next morning the guard gave back the eye dee as I walked the girl out. Those days are maybe gone.
