Arrived in Manila on Friday afternoon from Hong Kong, 10 minutes through passport control and Uber to Makati. As others have mentioned before, it is usually faster to get Uber XL. Checked into New World Makati less than an hour after landing. This hotel is ideally located for mongering in Greenbelt and not too far from P. Burgos St.

I concur, the only problem is that there's a construction site opposite that is going pretty much 24 hours a day, so you need to ensure the condo you rent is on the far side of the building or sleep quality will be a problem.

Haven't tried Aqua yet, but I know a lot of the Royal freelancers live there so it might be fun by the pool.

Anyone will be in Manila March 11-15, happy to catch up and hit the scene. Just out of curiosity, I have seen a lot of talk about staying in Airbnb especially Milan, Gramaercy, Knightsbridge. Was wondering if anyone have had the experiences and do security downstairs make a big hassle / security checks etc.

Otherwise hotels would be lesss hassle, just some of the Airbnb gives more of a homely feel haha.

Gramercy has a roach problem and Knightsbridge is hit or miss with roaches.

Milano would be the best as its the newest one in the area.

Another one I would recommend is Acqua Private Residences in Mandaluyong. It is across the river, but still very close to Burgos. It is located right in front of Powerplant Mall.

However if you are looking for closer action, Milano is currently the best option.

Like CSP, I have stayed in all 3 places. Knightsbridge and Milano are a touch higher-end than Gramercy. I make every girl leave an ID with the door security guy and sign in (never had a complaint whether she's a pro or not). Condo security guys are similar to hotel door security, they are looking out for the client. The condo units are often smaller than a hotel room, but you will pay considerably less and have nicer amenities (all 3 places have balconies with high-floor units for spectacular views, and beautiful pools). If staying for just a few days, there's really no advantage to the condo (possibly cheaper), but if staying longer its like having your own apartment; you can cook and such.

I was looking thru airbnb recently and found reasonable units (balcony, pool) in both Malate (Bayview Mansion, 43 sq m, $23/ night) and Makati (several you mentioned and more) for $30+. Just a short drive away from the Century Mall area, across the bridge is Aqua towers, with larger and nicer units, and I booked one (balcony, fiber 20 mb / s Internet, pool) for a week for sub-$30/ night.

Have stayed at all 3, none of them are a hassle. You won't have to register a girl at any of these condos IF they enter with you. If they arrive on their own, you can have them sent up but they'll need to leave ID.
