Posts: 1What to do in Makati?
Haven't been to Manila since pandemic, and generally fly into Manila and spend a couple of days in Makati before flying else where around Philippines. I am going there in February, and actually will be spending 7 days in Makati this time. As much as Manila is a mongering town, I was wondering what else there is to do there besides walk around GB an BGC? Any recommendations on where to go and what to do? Maybe grab somewhere close by, but just dreading the traffic going anywhere.

Monday's elections in Phils are for Barangay leaders. This might be considered the country's "Mid-term" elections, which are held between the larger presidential elections. I think city and Brgy leaders are elected every 3 years. On Friday as I was heading out the door for a walk at 6 am, there was a bundle of about 30 flyers, all packaged together, on my door. They were all for my Brgy's election candidates. In addition later on Saturday there were bunches of trucks running around the city, each with loudspeakers, blaring VOTE FOR JIMMY KAGAWAD! At one point Saturday morning as I was heading to the mall there were 4 such trucks at a street choke-point (the two lanes for traffic, one heading east and the other west, are normally down to 1 lane at that point), were further choked by 4 such trucks at that spot gumming up the traffic even more. All four trucks were blaring music, and VOTE FOR JIMMY KAGAWAD! Or such simultaneously. It took 15 extra minutes to get thru the choke point (and I was on a bike). Welcome to Philippines.
Alcohol is usually banned starting the day prior to an election, and police or military checkpoints might be put in place for a day or so. Also in regards to movement. Pinoy can only physically vote, and must do so in their registered Brgy (usually the home Brgy). When they move away from home, they must re-register in the new Brgy. Most don't, so they travel home as a holiday over this weekend. Hence the weekend, the voting Monday, in addition to the Halloween time (All-Saints day, All-souls day), become an extended holiday.

She was wildly liquored-up and as she came back from the CR in Cubana, over loud music, she yelled into my ear: We f*ck tonight and we f*ck tomorrow! I didn't have the heart to tell her that I was too inebriated for that at the time: She was plugged, drunk, happy, and singing with the band. We hit another bar after that and called it a night. We were both too hungover in the morning for sex. But it was a great night.

I went out on Burgos last night and was surprised at Maison for them to tell me they were closing at 12, last drink orders were around 11:30. Evidently there is a liquor ban in place because of the elections happening over the next couple of days and the Makati mayor has decided to extend it to 4 days over the forthcoming all saints holiday. Bizarrely, the rules of the liquor ban state that foreign tourists are exempt, which translates into some places closing early and some basically ignoring the rules. After Maison I went to Lips and told a regular from Maison to meet me there. She was told she could not come inside but I went down to escort her in and security relented. I bought a couple of drinks "just for me" at the bar and told her to relax but she seemed fairly nervous about it. The rest of the place was pumping, no idea how this kind of thing can even be remotely enforced. As with many things in the Phils, regulations seem to be put in place simply to be ignored or challenge you to flout them.
In terms of a report, had a great time with my regular as usual, she is expensive (if no barfine, 8,000 PHP) but worth it IMHO. Fantastic ass and cute face, though she just got braces (why do they seem to always feel the need for that even when unnecessary? Methinks there might be a scam going on for the girls working at the bars.) Anyway I digress, best tip I can offer is that she introduced me to the best short time hotel I have come across, not the main Sogo but an annex next to it which seems to be operated by the same people but is essentially a residence, with much nicer rooms and better "amenities" (I. E. Towels, soap etc.) It's literally next door and a much better option if you don't mind paying 2,000 PHP for a full night stay.
Anyway, just a friendly note to all that some places will likely be closing earlier or not that friendly to guests over the next 3-4 days, but you'll still find options.

Going to stay in Coro hotel, hopefully that's decent and girl friendly. Will report back.
My friends like to use massage girls that come to your room, and book online. Don't see it discussed. Anything to watch out for.
I was leaning toward manilla courtesans myself, but I see nuru massage, discrete massage, etc. Look tempting but who can say.

You fellas deserve another pic (s). This 10-year regular never tipped the scales above 34 kg. Easily a dozen times I plugged her and then took her to a bar for live band or out to a nice resto. She thanked my brains out. Get out there. Or in there.

I guess the caveat has complete relevance to demonstrate how people's experiences can differ.

My modus operandi used to be to hand them my contact info written neatly on a piece of paper and to give them my first name. I haven't tried this since before the pandemic, so I guess that now I would ask them to call me right then and there using WhatsApp, thus capturing the contact on my phone. In the past, if they contact me after work (never a certainty), I invited them to a drink either near my hotel or in my room, depending on the vibe. I am always super polite, no matter the level of the woman's education. Even the girls who see you as a walking ATM like to feel that they are getting respect.
When I last tried to pick up a girl at Greenbelt, I got nowhere in the initial stages of my interactions with a handful of women (and then I gave up). I would never have simply handed them my contact information. I was not worried about being assaulted by Uncle Mallari (apparently I should have been! But it would have been pointless.

I was at a bar-resto in Malapascua once chatting to a girl who proudly said she had just completed her 3 year tourism management degree. She was doing the final work experience phase, unpaid of course, and had just been promoted to folding the napkins.
To be honest that was probably the upper limit of her abilities anyway.
Cheers. G.
